HumbledbYGrace: wen u say These are syllabic errors but it's a general problem in Nigeria.Even the yorubas in the hinterland that call 's' as ''sh'' in word like ''soil'' as ''shoil'' even make the same error when speaking in yoruba language. The whole thing doesnt affect me at all maybe because i understand syntax as it relates to English language. |

I have an english accent, however depending on where i am i switch to nigerian with pidgin mixed in in some cases. When i'm with friends or in a professional setting i speak with my normal english accent, but when i want to hide it i do, e.g. pricing public transport, market situations etc. My english accent is going though, as i spend more and more time here in naija |

I have a compilation of accents: South African, New York, British, and Nigerian (Lagos to be specific) all in one - many times when I don't enunciate people don't comprehend what I say. I also speak very fast at times. My favorite is my Nigerian(Lagos) accent - I also like to sound very razZz sometimes.. |

I honestly don't have an accent. I grew up in lag 4 most of my life nd only recently moved 2 ph. U can't really tell where I come from whn I speak (I feel its mainly due 2 my inability 2 speak my dialect ). I also don't use my middle native name so my english 1st nd last name doesn't help matters. If I ave an accent I guess it wld ehh may b 'african'. Apart from dat, u have nothing on me. |
