Fuel economy superb, this is probably the best v6 that I have come across after a BMW 535 95 that was a guzzler. Though the vehicle loves sufficient fuel, when the reserve light comes on performance becomes sluggish.

LE, XLE etc are trim levels, the higher the trim level, the more factory options are likely to be fitted, with the XLE being a higher trim level than the LE. Often the higher trim levels are not available with the smaller base engines.

Olu'tokun:
Please Siena, I have a bit of concern; there was a time last year and my car started to stall while I drove and after a quick consultation with my mechanic and internet, I found out it was faulty crank shaft sensor causing it. I got them replaced but the engine still stalled...and again the second time, the mechanic worked on it and told me he changed the O2 (oxygen) sensor but much to my frustration, the car is stalling again.
Please sir, do you have any suggestions as to what the real problem might be, and possible solutions.
I await your prompt response.
Thank you.

A faulty crank sensor would certainly cause difficulty in starting, and stalling in service. Faulty O2 sensors will cause poor fuel economy, but not stalling. If they're faulty, the ECU doesn't get any signals, and the fuel system simply reverts from closed-loop emission control to open-loop.

Items that could cause stalling in service are:

01) Faulty crankshaft sensor.
02) Faulty camshaft sensor (if fitted).
03) Faulty coolant temperature sensor.
04) Faulty fuel pump relay.
05) ECU power interruption (wiring, control relay fault).

You had a crank sensor replaced - was it a new one? If yes, was it a genuine item, or a patent part? Crank sensors also need correct orientation to function properly. If it's too far, or too close to the trigger wheel, the engine will have running issues.

I think a scan is in order - and please don't buy any more parts, untill you at least have some codes to go by. Random replacement of parts can chew through your finances in a very short time. If you pull any fault codes, don't have them erased, and post the results here.

I wish you all the best.

@Siena,
Thank you so much; I quite appreciate this.
When the sensor was changed, honestly, I didn't check to see if the replacement was new or not. But as you advised, I'll do a scan and hit you back with the results.
Once again, thanks a bunch!

Guy, you speak for nobody; You speak for yourself. I must say that Siena was right to say if you had no interest, you could have ignored the thread. There is no reason to seek prominence by rubbishing others. Learn to see what is good in others, that is only what can take anyone very far. We learn everyday and I personally think Siena opened our eyes to what some of us had always taken for granted.

Siena:

No worries. A lightening strike damage to an automobile's rare, but it can happen. The first areas to suffer are any circuitry with semi-conductor material. So your mechanic should be looking at your ECU, ignition control module (if applicable).

Out of interest, how are you so sure it was struck by lightening? It could be a coincidence it wouldn't start after a lightening flash, unless there's any visible damage? Has a scan been carried out?

@ Siena, Thank you for your response on the 1999 C230 Kompressor Struck by lighting, the ECU has been changed and reprogrammed so has the ignition unit, yet it wont start plus there is no physical damage. Now they are telling me the ESI (don't know what that is) has to be changed. sir is it possible that a wire might have fried somewhere? and, if all else doesn't work would you recommend replacing the engine?
