BEFORE YOU SLEEP:

Never take those who LOVE you for granted...

They may not be perfect but the truth remains that they could take a bullet for you...

Do you want to lose a heart:

Belittle it,

Insult it,

Ignore it,

Betray it,

Judge it...

One day, You will wake up to discover you have lost them and then you will realise the treasures you had in them...

Would you need them again? Maybe YES!

YOU ARE PRESERVED

“...ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.”
(Mark 11: 2)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Jesus described the colt that His disciples were to bring for Him as one on which no man ever sat. When the disciples found the colt, it was at a place where two roads met. It was at a place where anyone could easily see it and use it; the colt was accessible and in a vulnerable position, yet, no man ever sat on it. No man took advantage of its vulnerability.

Friend, though you are in a vulnerable position, God will not allow any man to take advantage of your vulnerability. God will not allow any man to take advantage of your disadvantages; God won't allow anyone to use your weakness as a platform to reduce your destiny; God will shield you from those who want to mess you up on account of your weak position.

There may be men who are plotting to use your weaknesses against you, there may be those who know the areas where you aren't good enough or strong enough, and they want to mess up your future, but God won’t let them succeed. The colt was vulnerable, yet not violated. Your disadvantage will not be an entry point for the enemy into your life.

The colt had a purpose to fulfill in Jesus’ life, and God didn't allow any man to sit on it until Jesus sat on it. Because of the divine purpose you are serving or will yet serve, God will not allow you to be at the mercy of those who see your vulnerability. Because of your place in Christ, what happens to others when they are vulnerable won't happen to you.
Your vulnerability won't work against you if you are truly and fully committed to Jesus; if you hold on to God, He will shield you in areas where you are weak.

Prayer : Lord, my vulnerability won’t be an entry point for the enemy, in Jesus’ name!Amen

BEFORE YOU SLEEP:

The reason people are jealous of you is because they see something IN YOU that they wish they had. What they fail to realise is that God has blessed everyone with a package that is unique to them.

Isn't it amazing that they see something IN YOU worth having that you don't see IN YOURSELF?

If we were to see IN OURSELVES what others see IN US, we would always wish to be better versions of OURSELVES!

Walk up to the mirror, salute the man/woman you see in there. Tell that man/woman that he/she is awesome, unique and a trans-generational champion...Give him/her a peace sign....It is his/her season!

NOT BY QUALIFICATION

“...ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.”
(Mark 11: 2)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams Of Joy Devotional today.

The colt that Jesus would later ride on to enter into Jerusalem was one on which no man had ever sat. In Bible times, animals that were used for transport were first trained before being used for transport. Colts were too immature to be used, donkeys and horses were used instead. A colt wasn't used without previous experience.

That colt was bereft of training and experience, but it was used by Jesus in His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Its first job was to carry Jesus; its first job was one that it was not qualified for, but when the job came, it didn't fail. It wasn't qualified, but it got the biggest job a colt could get.

Friend, you may not have the best of qualifications, you may not have all the training required of you, you may not have all the abilities that men think you should have, you may not have all the competence and perfection expected of you, but God will grant you big opportunities that will distinguish you and cause you to be celebrated beyond your imaginations. God will make a way beyond your skills.

When men are involved, they insist on your abilities and qualifications, but when Jehovah is involved, grace can lift you to realms you may not even be qualified for. Just as the colt carried Jesus in its first assignment in life, and didn’t disappoint, when God takes you to realms above your competence and qualifications, His grace will empower you to succeed.

You may not have all the qualifications, but if you have God, He will qualify you and divinely empower you beyond your imaginations. Look beyond your qualifications and look at God, and you will rise above your qualifications.

Prayer : Lord, I will rise above my qualifications, in Jesus’ name!Amen

GOD'S WORD IS SURE

“And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.”
(Mark 11: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus spoke of the possibility of men who might query the release of the colt. Jesus said, “If any man say unto you, why do ye this”? The word ‘If’ infers probability and uncertainty; so Jesus presented His speech as a probability. Jesus' speech had an element of uncertainty.

When the disciples eventually found the colt and were loosing it, some men showed up to ask them why they were loosing the colt. So what Jesus presented as a possibility/likelihood became a certainty. What Jesus said and it looked like it may or may not happen, eventually happened.

Friend, God's word concerning you might look like a probability, but God says, in a matter of time, it shall come to pass. When God says you shall be head and not the tail, it may not look feasible, but it will certainly happen in the process of time. If God says you shall not lack your mate, it’s not a probability, it’s a certainty; if God says He will supply your needs, it’s not a probability, it is a promise He will certainly fulfill.

There is no probability with God; when He says a thing, it will surely come to pass. When He makes a promise, He is committed to the fulfillment of His promise. It may not always look possible or feasible or probable, but in a matter of time, it will come to pass.

Receive every word from God with a heart of faith and confidence that He is faithful that promised. Men may promise and have no commitment to fulfill their word; but when Jehovah is involved, every promise is a certainty.

2 Corinthians 1: 20 says: “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

Prayer : Lord, every word You speak is yea and amen; it shall come to pass, in Jesus’ name!Amen

ANSWERS FOR TOMORROW

“And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.”
(Mark 11: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Jesus sent His disciples to fetch Him the colt, He knew that some men would raise questions concerning the release of the colt. His disciples were yet to encounter the question; it was a question that would arise in a matter of time; that question was in the future.

Jesus told His disciples what to answer to any man who questions the release the colt. He gave them an answer/solution for a question/problem that was yet to arise. He gave them answers for their tomorrow. The disciples weren’t clueless when the question arose.

Friend, God says, you will receive answers for tomorrow’s questions in your today. You won't walk into your tomorrow clueless about what tomorrow holds for you; you won't be confused when tomorrow’s questions arise; you won't be bamboozled by the confusion that tomorrow’s questions seek to throw at you; tomorrow’s questions won't defeat you.

When tomorrow’s questions arise, you will be ready with an answer that will be on point; when issues arise in your future, all you need to do is to dig deep into the resources within you and you would find answers that God already prepared for you ahead of time. You shall have early answers for tomorrow’s conspiracies; you will have answers in advance for the evil plots waiting for you in your tomorrow.

As God empowers you with answers in advance, you will answer tomorrow’s questions with ease; as God empowers you with answers for the future, no question of life shall leave you clueless.

Jeremiah 33 vs. 3 says: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Prayer: Lord, I won’t be clueless when tomorrow’s questions arise; give me answers in advance, in Jesus’ name!Amen

YOU ARE NEEDED

“...say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.”
(Mark 11: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The colt that Jesus needed in His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, was tied. Apparently, the owners had no need for it; they probably underestimated the colt; they had a colt but found no assignment for it. The colt was in an awkward position where it was useful but no one had need for it.

When it was time for Jesus to march into Jerusalem, He sent two of His disciples to untie the colt. The owners of the colt thought it was useless, but Jesus thought it was useful. They had no need for the colt, but Jesus gave the colt the miracle of being needed and being put to use.

Friend, you may be surrounded by men who think you are useless and can’t serve any purpose, but God will send you men who see and need the value in you. God will send you men who will give you a chance to excel and show your worth;

God will send you men who celebrate the champion in you even when no one believes in you; God will send you men who will call your potentials and potentialities into action on the big stage of life.

Your destiny is not defined by those who think you are useless and should remain tied at a spot; you are not a product of those who don’t treat you well. Don’t judge yourself harshly because of those who don’t believe you are worth anything. Some may sneer at you, jeer at you, or even try to de-market you, but you are useful and you are needed.

Pay less attention to haters and those who don’t treat you well. You deserve to be celebrated, you are loaded with value, you have what it takes to fulfill purpose, and you are definitely needed.

2 Corinthians 4: 7 says: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

Prayer : Lord, I am loaded with value; send me men who need me, in Jesus’ name!Amen

* Things you don't understand. Maturity brings clarity. Just keep growing.

* Repeated Rejection: Just keep knocking on doors. The right one will open for you.

* The unexpected behaviour of those you admire. You've just discovered that they need Jesus too.

* The commentary of the ignorant...They're just...Ignorant.

* Your present financial status: Worrying about it or pretending to have more won't change anything. Pray, Work, Sow and Reap.

YOU ARE STRATEGIC

“And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.”
(Mark 11: 4)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Jesus’ disciples were sent to fetch the colt, they found it tied by a door outside, at a place where two roads met. They didn’t need to look far before finding the colt. They didn’t need to engage in a rigmarole journey before finding what they were looking for. The colt was in a strategic position, and it was easy to find it when it was needed.

Friend, God says, you are strategic. When men need you, you won’t be missing, and they won’t look too far before they find you. When men need you, they will locate you easily. The kings of this world won’t struggle to find you when they need your services; those in power won't need to look too much before they seek you out for favour; God will position you in such a way that you will be easily located.

When God positions you strategically, you will be the hottest property in town, and even your haters will run to you because of the value you bear within you. When God makes you strategic, people may not even like your face, but they will have no option but to come to you for your services. When God makes you strategic, your Exceeding Expansion will happen without any delays.

The colt was on its own, doing its normal routine at the place where it was tied, and Jesus’ disciples located and untied it. It was strategic, and it didn’t do anything spectacular to be noticed and untied. When God makes you strategic, without much spectacular efforts on your part, people will locate and favour you. When God makes you strategic, your ordinary efforts will count in destiny.

Ask God to make you strategic in your generation; ask God to position you in such a way that men will easily seek you out for honour and distinction.

Prayer: Lord, make me strategic, in Jesus’ name! Amen

NOT BY OPPOSITION

“And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?” (Mark 11: 5)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Jesus’ disciples came to the place where the colt was tied, some men were standing by. These men saw Jesus’ disciples loosing the colt, and they queried the release of the colt. They spoke like men who were not excited that the colt was about to become relevant. By their conduct and words, they opposed the release of the colt.

Despite the naysayers who felt that the colt shouldn't be untied, it was untied and later carried Jesus into Jerusalem. Despite the opposition against the colt, it moved to the next level and experienced a breaking forth where it was confined. The opposition against the colt could not stop the colt.

Friend, God says, the opposition against you will not stop you. The naysayers against your destiny will not stop your next level from becoming a reality. Those who speak against you in open and secret places will not stop your Exceeding Expansion from manifesting this year. Those who believe you don’t deserve what God is bringing your way cannot even stop God from giving you what He has destined for you.

If your naysayers like, let them increase in number and hold more meetings against your progress; if they like, let them wish you evil or speak evil against you secretly or openly. If Jehovah is involved, their efforts will be inconsequential and immaterial. The presence of haters won’t stop anything that God is bringing your way.

Put your confidence in God and forget the naysayers and haters around you. They may have their say, but God will definitely have His way.

Isaiah 54: 15 says: “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.”

Prayer : Lord, the haters and naysayers around me will not stop my Exceeding Expansion, in Jesus’ name!Amen

SPEAK THE WORD

“And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.”
(Mark 11: 6)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Jesus’ disciples encountered opposition as they untied the colt, they told the men what Jesus said, and the men had no option but to let them go. They faced opposition in their assignment, and they dealt with the opposition by speaking the word that Jesus gave to them.

Friend, when you face opposition this year, just speak God’s word. Speak God’s word to every opposition against you; speak the word to every gang up against your progress; speak the word to every limitation against you; speak God’s word to every protocol that wants to stop you; speak God’s word to every satanic word that will ever be spoken against you this year; attack every attacker of your destiny by speaking God’s word.

The men who opposed the release of the colt heard Jesus’ word, and their opposition lost steam. When you speak God’s word, the opposition against you will lose steam. When you speak God’s word into your life, you are simply making your life unconducive for opposition activities. God’s word will cause your opposition to crumble. God’s word will cause any evil foundation against you to collapse.

Speak less of your own word and more of God’s word. Say what God says. Confess only what is consistent with God’s word concerning your life. Speak in line with God’s spoken and revealed word. Use your tongue in your favour. Speak words that will add value to your life.

The challenges against you may not respond to your word, but they will bow to the word of the Lord. Speak God’s word and you will put every opposition against you to flight.

Jeremiah 23: 29 says: “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?”

Prayer : Lord, I choose to speak the Word; may Your word put the opposition against me to flight, in Jesus’ name!Amen

BEFORE YOU SLEEP:

CONTENTMENT is not settling. It is the ability to enjoy what you have, where you are, while you're trusting GOD for whatever is lacking. To experience contentment:

* Realise that you're already blessed. Regardless of what you "don't have" you have enough right now to be grateful. Gratitude attracts Increase.

* Know that GOD is with you. Even if you're not faithful to Him, He's faithful to you. Do your best to give GOD your best but don't forget His promise to "be with you always".

* Say where you're going. Your words are powerful. Life is waiting for instructions from your lips. So, speak your desire. You will have what you say (and work towards).

* Maximise where you are till GOD opens doors. You can't curse where you are and expect it to be blessed. I don't care where you call 'home', GOD is there and if He's there anything is possible.

BE CONTENT!

Goodnight.

YOU WILL BE HONOURED

“7. And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. 8. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.”
(Mark 11: 7-cool

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Jesus’ disciples brought the colt to Him, they put their garments on the colt before Jesus sat upon it. Others spread their garments on the path the colt would walk on. In Bible times, garments revealed the status of people; garments were a mark of dignity. So the people literally took their dignity and put on the colt. People clothed the colt with honour.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: you will be honoured; your path shall be decked with honour. Kings will honour you; strangers will honour you; friends will honour you; even haters will have no option but to honour you; you will move from one level of honour to another; when men think you have received your own fair share of honour, God will show up again to honour you afresh.

The colt did not even beg anyone to honour and dignify it. It was honoured whilst carrying Jesus into Jerusalem. Your connection to Jesus is your passcode to honour. When Jesus is honoured by your life, He will attract honour to your life. When you serve God’s purpose diligently, God Himself will make arrangements for you to be honoured.

Before Jesus sat on the colt, only the disciples placed their clothes on it; but after Jesus sat on the colt, many people spread their clothes while others cut down branches of trees for the colt to trample on. You might already be walking in honour, but there is a next level of honour that will come to you when Jesus is at the driver’s seat of your life.

Let Jesus ride on your life, and you will be honoured above your imaginations.

Prayer : Lord, ride on my life and cause me to be honoured beyond measure, in Jesus’ name!Àmen

START WITH PRAISE

“He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.” (John 4: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Today’s Focal Scripture tells the tale of Jesus’ journey which eventually led to His encounter with the woman of Samaria. That journey which would later bring amazing results began in Judah. There was a fresh assignment to carry out, there was a next level of glory to be unveiled, some people were about to get healed, and Jesus took off from Judah.

Judah means ‘praise’. So Jesus was about to enter into a phase of outstanding exploits and miracles and He took off from ‘praise’. He was about to unveil a new season of power and glory, and His take off point was ‘praise’. A season of supernatural manifestations was about to be unveiled, and Jesus began the journey in the place called ‘praise’.

Friend, begin your journey with praise. Begin your day with praise. Start every destiny journey with praise. Start every phase of your life on a note of praise. Praise God in advance for those miracles and breakthroughs that are yet to happen; praise God for those doors that are yet to be opened unto you; praise God for those mighty visitations that are yet to happen; praise God for the things He is yet to do for you.

Jesus took off from ‘praise’, and eventually, Samaria was turned over to Him. He achieved so much when He took off from praise. When you dare to praise God in advance, be sure that something special and supernatural is about to happen. When you choose to praise God, He will cause you to exceed your expectations and to expand exceedingly.

Jesus did not just end the matter in praise; He began it in praise. Don’t wait till everything ends and everything is achieved before you enter your praise mode; dare to start with praise and God will cause you to experience an Exceeding Expansion.

Prayer : Lord, I choose to start with praise; cause my path to shine exceedingly, in Jesus’ name!Amen

A NEW NAME

“Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.”
(John 4: 5)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The encounter between Jesus and the woman of Samaria took place at ‘Sychar’, previously known as Shechem. Shechem was where God promised to give the land of Canaan to Abraham and his descendants (see Genesis 12); Shechem was where Joshua gathered the elders of Israel to renew their covenant with God before he died (see Joshua 24).

Positive, prophetic events took place in Shechem before it was renamed to Sychar. Shechem means ‘shoulder’, while Sychar means ‘lies and drunkenness’. So Shechem's identity and destiny changed from positive to negative.

After Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman, the name of the city was changed again to Neapolis, meaning ‘New city’. The change of name from positive to negative was not final: God brought a better name to the city. A negative name came to the city, and after Jesus stepped in, it got a new name that brought a new, positive identity.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: for every negative identity you have taken on, God will cause a positive change that will cause you to smile and be celebrated. Everything that looks like a name change to something negative is God’s platform to change your name to a higher, better one. Any negativity in your identity will attract divine intervention. Whatever the enemy has done to you is nothing compared to what God is about to make happen for you.

Take every negative identity in your life to God and He will give you a new name that will wipe your bitter tears away.

Isaiah 62 vs. 2 says: “And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.”

Prayer: Lord, for every negative identity in me, give me a new name, in Jesus’ name!Amen

Seven Principles of an eagle to live by in 2016:

(1) Eagles fly alone and at high altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows or other small birds.

Stay away from sparrows and ravens, those that bring you down. Eagles fly with Eagles. Keep good company.

(2) Eagles have an accurate vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed.

(3) Eagles do not eat dead things. They feed only on fresh prey.

Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

(4) Eagles love the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the storm’s wind to lift it higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagles uses the raging storm to lift him above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees.

Face your challenges knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges rather they relish them and use them profitably.

(5) When a female eagle meets a male and they want to mate, she flies down to earth with the male pursing her and she picks a twig. She flies back into the air with the male pursuing her.
Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she lets the twig fall to the ground and watches it as it falls. The male chases after the twig. The faster it falls, the faster he chases until he reaches it and has to catch it before it falls to the ground, then bring it back to the female eagle.

The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a much higher altitude, and then drops the twig for the male to chase.
This goes on for hours, with the height increasing until the female eagle is assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of picking the twig which shows commitment, then and only then, will she allow him to mate with her!

Whether in private life or in business, one should test commitment of people intended for partnership.

(6) Eagles prepare for training. They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young get uncomfortable in preparation for flying.

Leave your comfort zone, there is no growth there.

(7) When the Eagle grows old, his feathers become weak and cannot take him as fast as he should. When he feels weak and about to die, he retires to a place far away in the rocks. While there, he plucks out every feather on his body until he is completely bare. He stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, then he can come out.

We occasionally need to shed off old habits, things that burden us, or add no value to our lives.

Best wishes for 2016 and beyond.

God bless you.

BEFORE YOU SLEEP:

The number one message that REJECTION communicates is that "You're not good enough". That's not true!

It makes more sense when you appreciate that God didn't design you for certain platforms, circles, occupations and relationships. So, it wasn't a REJECTION, its only a RE-DIRECTION!

Never forget that God designed you for some Powerful Purpose, assigned you to accomplish something extra-ordinary and He is about to connect you to amazing/fruitful relationships in this season. YOU DO FIT SOMEWHERE!

Those that said NO to you don't deserve you and are definitely unaware of what you carry and who you are about to become.

SO, YOU SEE, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!

Goodnight.

DIVINE DIVERTION

“And he must needs go through Samaria.”
(John 4: 4)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Jesus was on the way to Galilee, but passed through Samaria where He did an amazing miracle of turning the city around. Samaria wasn't the destination, but that was where Jesus gave a huge encounter to the woman of Samaria. Samaria was not the destination, but it became the spot for an amazing miracle.

Beloved, hear God’s prophetic word: you may not be the destination, but you will be the recipient of amazing miracles. You may not be the subject of that new vacancy, but it’s about to become your miracle. A decision may not have been taken because of you, but God says, it will soon work in your favour; there may be new opportunities that were created for some people, but God says, though it wasn’t meant for you, it is coming to you.

Samaria was not Jesus’ destination, but it got miracles before Galilee got any miracles. God says, you will be visited before the people that were meant to be visited; you shall receive and enjoy open doors before the people it was originally meant for; you will be the first to enjoy the recognition and benefits that were planned for others.

What Jesus did in Samaria was so spectacular that it was documented in scriptures. God says, what is about to come to you will be so amazing and spectacular that everyone who hears about it will say that it is a miracle. When God visits you unexpectedly, you will sing and shout for joy, and you will see miracles everywhere.

Ask God to give you an unexpected surprise package that will put smiles on your face. Ask God to cause you to enjoy a miracle and breakthrough that was originally meant from someone else.

Psalm 16 vs. 6 says: “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”

WALK IN NEWNESS

“6. Now Jacob's well was there... 7. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.”
(John 4: 6-7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

According to Biblical history, Jacob’s well was supplied from an underground spring. Other wells may have had stagnant water, but Jacob’s well had a supply of flowing water. Because the water from Jacob’s well was fresh, it was easy for people to drink from it from generation to generation. The newness of the water from Jacob’s well made it relevant from generation to generation.

Friend, when the ‘waters’ of your life are stagnant, people will have no need to drink from you. When your life and work lack creativity, people may not have any need for you. When your business is bereft of newness and new strategies, people will get used to how you do things and just maybe, your client base will gradually thin down with time; when your career lacks newness, you just might become irrelevant.

The key to lasting relevance is newness and freshness. Face each new day with new thinking; add a dose of fresh ideas and fresh efforts to your endeavour; bring in new innovations to every area of your life; make your work new and attractive each day; add new knowledge to whatever old knowledge you have; strive to remain new as you grow older.

People will get bored with you if all they see today and tomorrow is same as what they saw in you yesterday. A life bereft of improvement and newness is on a highway to stagnation and irrelevance. If you have nothing new to offer, people will move on to those who have something new to offer.

Ask God to load you with newness, and cause you to be a better version of yourself each new day. Seek to remain new in every area of your life.

Prayer : Lord, in every area of my life, grant me newness and freshness; I won’t be stagnant, in Jesus’ name!Amen

STOP AT THE WELL

“Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.”
(John 4: 6)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In the course of Jesus’ journey to Galilee, He was wearied by His journey and He went and sat on Jacob’s well. Jesus was tired and He found succor in a well. The well seemed to soothe Jesus’ weariness. Whatever impact Jesus’ journey had on Him seemed to find solution when He sat at the well.

Friend, regardless of what life throws at you, always stop at the well. When the battles and challenges of life weaken and batter you, stop at the well. When unanswered prayers want to discourage you, stop at the well. When you are knocked out by the conspiracies of men, look for the ‘well’ and stop there.

A well is a water source; in Ephesians 5 vs. 26, water is compared to God’s word. When life wearies and knocks you out, turn to God’s word and it will give you hope. When men turn against you, turn to God’s word and it will give you an escape route. When problems seem unending, embrace God’s word and it will help you end the trouble; when faced with battles you can’t fight by yourself, turn to God’s word and in it, you will find victory over the enemy.

When you peep into God’s word, you will see light at the end of the tunnel, you will see that all hope is not lost, you will discover that God being on your side is more than everyone against you, you will see that your troubles have an end, you will see that your limitations can't stop you, and you'll see that whatever can weary you isn't strong enough to stop you.

Whatever happens, never forget to stop at the well. Whatever you face, never forget what God’s word says concerning you. When you have no other place to stop, stop at the well.

Prayer : Lord, I choose to turn to Your word when I am wearied by life’s journey, in Jesus’ name!Amen

IT'S COMING TO YOU

“6. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well... 7. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water...”
(John 4: 6-7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of when Jesus rested at Jacob’s well because He was weary. Jesus eventually met a Samaritan woman at the well. His encounter with that woman opened the door for the salvation of the entire city. Jesus’ meeting with the Samaritan woman was obviously by divine arrangement. The meeting brought amazing results.

Because Jesus was tired, He stopped at the well. Weakness stopped Him, but it didn’t stop the woman from coming to Him. Jesus’ weakness didn't stop the amazing result that eventually came His way. What stopped Jesus didn't also stop what was coming to Him. The weakness that stopped Jesus’ journey didn't stop what was coming to Him.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: whatever stopped you cannot stop what is coming to you. The weakness and disadvantage that stopped you will not stop what is coming to you. You may think your location, family background, qualifications, etc is a limitation, but God says, it may stop you, but it won’t stop what is coming to you. You may be barred from certain opportunities, but it will still come to you. You were stopped so that it/they can come to you.

Whatever wants to stop you- policies, people, haters, rivals, economy, etc- will not stop what God packaged for you from coming to you. When your strength fails, God will cause your package to be delivered by grace. Whatever looks like a stop in your movement in destiny is a time out that won't change anything.

Focus on God and don’t rule yourself out of success when you are weak or disadvantaged. When God is involved, He will command your package to come to you.

Prayer : Lord, whether I’m weak or strong, cause my package to come to me, in Jesus’ name!Amen

THE RIGHT TARGET

“There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.” (John 4: 7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture introduces a Samaritan woman who later had an encounter with Jesus. The woman of Samaria later invited the entire city to come and hear Jesus. Jesus met her and also met the entire city through her. Meeting her made Jesus’ assignment easier. She was the right target that made Jesus gain results with ease.

Friend, when you hit the right target, your results will come with ease. There are opportunities that will give you results faster than others; there are people you would meet and they will make your journey to greatness easier and sweatless; there are people you would meet and they would connect you easily to what you need to achieve; there are targets you hit and you will be distinguished with amazing results.

Ask God to lead you to that right target that will bring your results with ease; ask God to show you that man that will help you transit to the next level; ask God to divinely direct you to the opportunity that will take you to the next level; ask God to bring the destiny helper that will make your work easier and more productive; ask God to open your eyes to that right effort that will work wonders.

Jesus met only one Samaritan, and through her, the mission of meeting the entire city became easy. He hit the right target and that target became His link to more results. God says, as you hit the right target, your[sub][/sub] results will connect you to bigger results. You need only one strategic opportunity to become distinguished with distinctions. You need only one right move to rise higher.

Ask God to show you that one target that is your link to greatness. Ask God to lead you to make the right move that will bring your results with ease.

Prayer : Lord, lead me to the right target that will distinguish me, in Jesus’ name!Amen

THEIR ERROR, YOUR GAIN

“There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.”
(John 4: 7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The woman of Samaria was notorious for her immoral lifestyle. During her conversation with Jesus, Jesus revealed that she has had five husbands, and was currently living with a man she was not married to. The Samaritan woman was living in error; her lifestyle had no comeliness to be admired.

When she eventually encountered Jesus, she gathered the entire city with ease. Her notoriety was an asset that made it easy for Jesus to meet the multitude He could not ordinarily invite on His own. What she did wrong became Jesus’ platform for impact. What she did wrong connected Jesus to the result He desired.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: the mistakes of others will make room for you to hit your target with ease. What others do wrong will make your good deeds more outstanding and attractive. The incompetence of others will make men come for you because of your competence; the poor work ethics of others will make men to opt for you above others; as men mess up their businesses and careers, you will be distinguished.

God will cause the wrong doing of others to work in your favour; their errors will be your asset; their imperfection will work for your own perfection; their poor performance will make your own good performance more obvious; the mediocrity that sinks others will make your own excellence more outstanding.

Don’t feel too bad when people around you are not quite doing as well as they should. Their mistakes will be a platform for your miracle. What they are doing wrong will be an ingredient that will make your results more outstanding.

Job 22: 29 says: "When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up..."

Prayer :Lord, the wrongdoing of others will help to distinguish me more and more, in Jesus’ name!Amen

MAKE A DEMAND

“There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.” (John 4: 7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus told the woman of Samaria to give Him water to drink. Jews and Samaritans had no dealings with each other. Jesus was a Jew while the woman was of Samaria, and it was probably expected that there would be nothing between them, but Jesus still asked the woman for water.

Despite the circumstance that should make Jesus refrain from asking for water from that woman, He demanded for water from her. The coast was not clear, but He made a demand. There was an impediment that should stop Him from getting water from that woman, but He demanded for water. He made a demand when He saw a road block.

Friend, when you encounter road blocks in the journey of life, make a demand. Speak to that result you want to see in your life; give a command concerning the progress you wish to see in your life; speak a word concerning that door that is yet to be opened unto you; knock on the doors of heaven and make a demand concerning the miracles that are yet to manifest. For everything you want to see, make demands in prayers.

When you make demands through your communion with God, you are simply asking God to bring the full weight of His divinity to bear on your issue. When you make demands in the place of prayer, you are simply unlocking earthly doors with heavenly keys. When you speak a word concerning what you want to see, you are simply sending your words on an errand to come back with results.

The coast was not clear when Jesus made a demand, but after His demand, a line of communication was opened against all odds. He made a demand that cleared the coast. Make demands under God, the coast will be clear and you will make progress.

Prayer : Lord, I choose to make demands; may my demands break my road blocks, in Jesus’ name!Amen

SERVE A DIVINE PURPOSE

“There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.”
(John 4: 7)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus demanded water from the woman of Samaria. Jesus had nothing with which to draw water; the woman of Samaria had something with which to draw water. She was in a position where she could provide what Jesus needed. She had a physical resource, and Jesus demanded that she use it to fulfill a divine purpose.

Friend, God says, use your resources to serve a divine purpose. Use your position in life to advance the course of God’s kingdom. Use your career to make Jesus proud. Use your business to fulfill a divine purpose that will make Jesus glad. Use your skills to do something for the Lord. Use what you have in your hands to fulfill what is in the heart of the Lord.

Jesus had options if He wanted water; He only gave the woman of Samaria a chance to give water to God. When God wants you to do something for Him, it’s not because He doesn’t have options; it’s because He wants to use your effort and sacrifice to bless you. If your finances are called into action in the house of God, it’s a platform for your increase.

If the woman of Samaria refused to grant Jesus’ request, Jesus had nothing to lose, but it was the woman of Samaria who would lose a chance for a divine encounter. If you fail to use your physical platform to serve a divine purpose, take note, God has nothing to lose, but you would eventually be the biggest loser.

Use what you have to serve God; don’t walk away when God makes a demand on what you have; use you physical platform to fulfill a divine purpose.

Proverbs 11 vs. 25 says: “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”

Prayer : Lord, my physical platform must serve a divine purpose, in Jesus’ name!Amen
