Most of the responses here are to over-simplified so i will break it down for you, i personally password my phone because its my nature i don't reveal my phone to anyone doesn't mean am a cheat or so. but to be realistic if your wife had such past,then i won't say you are paranoid because based on past information its still possible for her to engage with her ex, and its possible for her to just be platonic, afterall i still chat with my ex but it can never cross that line, believe me her deleting the contact is not an issue, she can delete it and still do whatever she wants to, so this is the real truth regardless of whether you do or don't do, its actually up to her to stay faithful or not.
