Inferno By Dan Brown-his Worst Book Yet? by adexsimply(m): 1:33pm On Jun 04, 2013 |
I just Finished Dan Brown's latest Robert Langdon's series and I have to confess, the book was a page-turner!! I was stuck to it to the very end. As usual, the book became a subject of abject ridicule by ANTI-LANGDON critics: A book reviewer described it(INFERNO) as "His(Dan Brown) worst book yet". ~Let me introduce the book to you because summarizing it would definitely spoil the fun(as the book really has a very twisted and shocking end). ~The book is broadly inspired by the first part of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy:INFERNO. The villain in the book(Bertrand Zobrist) is a mad-scientist, whose intentions are as genius as they are crazy. He is inspired and fueled by Dante’s epic poem, Inferno. >>The book opens with memories of a mysterious veiled woman, one of Dante’s ethereal Shades, breaking into Langdon’s consciousness as he recovers in hospital from a supposedly head wound. “Seek and find,” she whispers, as thousands of bodies writhe at her feet, consumed in blood, faeces and fire. Which is fine in its way, but then Brown kills any mystery the woman might have possessed with a rigor mortis-inducing pen portrait: “She had a sternly set jaw, deep soulful eyes, and long silver-grey hair that cascaded over her shoulders in ringlets.” >>Later in the scene, Langdon is attended to in hospital by Dr Sienna Brooks(later partners Robert in his breadth-catching adventure ), who appears to have similar eye trouble. “Her eyes, though a gentle brown, seemed unusually penetrating, as if they had witnessed a profundity of experience rarely encountered by a person her age.” Robert's stay at the hospital was cut short by the arrival of a female ASSASSIN(Vayentha)who killed the apparently elderly doctor and attempted killing Langdon whose escape was aided by Sienna... Go get the book... ||I would have posted a dropbox link to the book, but I'd be breaking a thousand and one domestic and international laws [s]You can PM me for the book and Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy(A Poem) [/s] |
