Thanks all... but seriously, we are all working towards perfection.
And am still hopeful that a time will come when we will make a solid blender short movie.

please guys how do you handle this situation...that moment when you are working on a project in blender and you seem not to be reaching your expectations and that feeling of giving up started running it's cause in your mind.

I often go watching Cinematic trailers and VFX seminars. They are more like boosters for me.

Or I bring out all my previous works and start admiring them one after the other.

Besides its hard to give up on CG, if you think of the man hours you'd put in.

Sometimes watching a film rich in CG serves as encouragement - e.g Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy, Harry Potter series, Ex-Machina.

I've been in ur situ a thousand times ...ok a thousand and Two times...lol but someone from this thread (one of the bosses) suggested the above stuff for me and since then....well I get along

thanks a lot... some times I wonder how these foreigners create such awesome designs...you can't tell me they have aliens or flesh eating zombies in their country not to mention transformers, xmen and the rest of them... those guys are so creative. but us, we will be dealing with African culture. trying to represent and to show our creativity in that perspective but to them creativity is all about free expression no formula attached.
we should apply that too. let earthquake or even volcano eruption happen in Nigeria...things like that. we should start thinking outside Africa things and its culture because creativity knows no boundaries.
The reason am saying all this is because am working towards that area of creativity but don't seem to be getting it... but these guys just do it freely. it worries me so so so much.

They are always collaborating. Creativity blooms more when like individuals are lumped together. Check Nasa or CERN, each one of them scientist can't send man to the moon alone but as a whole Jupiter is just their backyard.

As for African culture limiting our creativity....hmmm i doubt, We have a whle lotta monsters than the west. Perhaps one day some of us here will work in a film epic about Sango Teaming up with Amadioha and Osun/Mammi Water to defend an invading Alien into Nigeria's society.

Imagine the galactic battles, Oshimili/Mammi taking up so many armousphous/organic forms (from a fishy tail to a Medusa like form to half woman half octopus) sprouting out the Niger river in hush sprouts of water. Imagine her summoning all creatures from the depths of the river into a school with a singularity whose drilling strength is enough to bore an alien ship like a bullet via wood....just imagine.

What of the Obanjes/Abiku? Mystique in X-men could be a form of Abiku. All those caves in Anambra and Olumo rock could house gods grithing with anger, displeased with the modern nigerians who had failed to give them libations. Imagine them now causing stuff akin to the Seven Plagues in Exodus. Recently, there had been some rumblings within the Zuma Rock... i heard.

Currently, what we need is to be steadfast against all odds( Nepa, Youtube hiding good tuts and revealing them when you had searched tire, Vimeo refuing to show you that nice riggng tuts, MTN seizing your dataplan..lol), lets channel ourselves to a particular skill with CG and then come together......

well said... yet we are still at the confinement of our culture and beliefs. that's exactly what I'm saying. can't we just break those barriers honestly I have to call them that. even if we are to imbibe any of those in our works we can make it look contemporary...hmm... I love this saying of yours... that we need to channel ourselves to a particular skill with cg.
it will go a long way. truly.

subdivide few times to have some vertices to work on, you can also apply subsrf or multi resolution modifier if your system can scale through.

please who has any kind of solution to these my problems?
my software does not undo so I save regular in case I make any mistake so I will use revert to go back
Then I have issues with editing things on my tools panel, for example I can't choose the number of segments or rings while adding a UV sphere, I can't even choose the number of cuts when I am subdividing etc
the options in the tools panel are nt active so I can't edit it myself
attached are screenshot of the xample I gave above so you can understand better
I'm using version 2.76
thanks in advance

It is not a problem, that is how blender was built but the developers are working on it. It will be fixed in the 2.8 project
But you can still call the tools menu with F6 button (or fn + F6 if you are using a notebook) but you wont get all the options.

Actually those guys are good but good films like that are not the efforts of just one person. What I notice is that they bring in sometimes more than 50 people, and everyone specializing in what he is good at. There is a specialist in modelling, another in sculpting, texturing, rigging, and even setting up lights. I thinks that is what we need too in nigeria.

Gbam, specialization is the key. All I ever wanted to do is Model (organic modelling that is) and do Rendering studies. I like this two areas alot but..if only dreams were horses.

Merry Xmas to all. Coming up is my list of the best renders on this thread this year.

I have a scene with this one, a homeless tatooed guy about to steal this gift from the intended owner. There's hair and there's clothe sims..
...been Rendering for ages now, had passed my Xmas deadline...oh well.
