am a member of the CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST and proud to be but i hv noticed that each tyme i tell people am a celestial eye brows are raised then series of questions follows like why did u people believe in using candle, do you guys believe in GOD, and i hv noticed that many people see celestial or any white garment church as "unbelievers" church.And i have dicovered dat most of the things people believed about CCC ARE NOT TRUE so i really want 2 know wot u think about CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST or any white garment church for that matter.

Next time u are asked about what church u attend, answer by saying[b] proudly celestial[/b]

Neither did He ask that a pastor rebels against a church (which is the body of Christ) and then goes ahead to form his own church. or what is the source of the pentecostal churches trhat spring up daily on the streets of lagos? are they not braek away rebels from re-owned churches?

Most of the Celestial churches i know are always secluded,either in one bush or near one kind stream. For Christ' sake, it is bondage.

As a true ambassador of the ministry(Celestial) i was expecting a response that would throw/shed light
on those things which i didn't have a clear picture of in a proper manner.

I as an Evangelist already passed my message that "except a man repents and be born again, ".
I discovered that you don't understand what it means to be born again.It is my duty to enlighten you,

Am happy you said your knowledge is little (am not insulting you please) you see EVANGELIST am happy you talked about being born again,but do you know what it means to be born again yourself? because if you truly know God as you have claimed, you should know his stance on being judgemental. JUDGE NOT THAT YOU MAY NOT BE JUDGED mathew 7:1. i knew from inception when i posted this topic that some people would come and claim i too know God more than God himself,unfortunately you fall into that category(no pun intended please).

and girlfriend, i attend RCCG. all members in the house shout halleluyah! . and we SO do NOT use candles. c'mon girl you know u guys use candles, break eggs at T-junctions, woteva. ive met nuff cele people, lived beside some.

Celestial church is gross. They need to accept Christ and stop practicing voodoo and witchcraft in the name of Christ. No wonder the bar beach is their favorite domain for burying live rams for rituals.

I have heard a lot of bad things about celestial churches but I personally know one or two people who attend celestial churches and who seem to be genuine Christians, I believe that only God can judge the state of one's heart, whatever denomination you belong to, people are saying celestial this, celestial that but you see, a lot of people these days, celestial, pentecostal, anglican, catholics or otherwise are too wrapped up in tradition and religion to truly follow God, when will people give up Christianity to serve Jesus Christ?

Am happy you said you attend RCCG.yez i said eyebrows were raised by those who know nothing about the church, the same eyebrow that were raised when a redeem pastor in a street near mine impregnated his wife's sister, the same eyebrow that were raised when it was discovered how redeem pastors kill themselves because of offerings, especially the ones of your monthly conventions. nuff respect to pastor Adeboye ,though i know those ills are perpetrated by bad eggs; the way some bad eggs are spoiling the good of celestial church christ.

The controversy over Celestial Church of Christ is legendary. There have been several misconceptions about the church as well. And, stories have been circulated about several 'negative activities' of CCC members.

Oh, before I go further, I attend the Celestial Church and have been a member of the Church for over 28 years now. I started out at about the age of 18 along with my Dad (though late now). I was already in higher institution then and old enough to chose where to worship, though with the guidance of my father .

Now to the point, the 'hood does not the monk make'. The church you worship in does not have anything to do with your standing with GOD. Each and every one of us has his/ her 'PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD'. So, wherever we chose to worship (at least in a BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH) we should endeavour to 'MAKE OUR WAYS STRAIGHT'. We should always try to foster an appropriate relationship with GOD.

There are several issues about the actions of a few 'bad eggs' in the Celestial fold. I will not argue about this, since I have not worshipped in more than a few parishes (both in Nigeria and abroad) throughout my earthly journey. As to the issue of practices in churches (use of red candle, green e.t.c.) - no self respecting Celestian will engage in this as it is not part of our doctrine. Also, there have been several practices that were introduced along the line by various interests in the Church that have now been outlawed over time. However, as GOD does not regulate the thoughts of man. So can no church regulate the actions of its members or even its leadership.

The only thing that can be achieved through this forum is to try and clear up any misconceptions. And, the best way to do this is just to ask questions. So, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS YOU WISH TO ASK, ISSUES BOTHERING YOU OR ANY FORM OF CONFUSION IN UR MIND ABOUT CCC - JUST GO AHEAD AND ASK. I am sure CCC members on this forum and others on Nairaland would be kind enough to provide clarifications/ answers e.t.c.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is not the church you attend or the Church leader you follow on earth that determines your standing with GOD. It is your own personal actions (and inactions) that do this. Our churches are just vehicles for our believe and faith, they are not really why we worship. Going to church is an avenue to congregate, grow and develop spiritually.

im not a celestial member but my mum was before she passed on and my maternal grandma before she passed on as well,im born n bred anglican but my mum used to take us to the cele church and i must say i enjoyed the choir and the white uniforms for sum reason lol
one thing i v noticed from most celestial and other white garments when u put it to them about the fetish thing is either denial or being defensive,lets be honest you know them fetish stuffs are going on in some parishes and personally i think what u younger celestians should do that the old guard have not done is to investigate the parishees spoiling the name of the church name and shame them and also try and explain to people the changes that have come about and how to know the right parish from the ones that practise fetish stuffs,saying that u dont care what ppl say and all that is like burying your heads in the sand,theres no church or mosque in the world or religion who doesnt want more converts and the only way ccc can get former members back to the fold,and newer younger members is for the younger generation to make noticable changes and also the 6 hours service is wayyyy too long man,younger ppl attent pentecostal apart from other reasons also because its not more than 3 hours,having said that i still listen to some celestial choir cds and i must say u gys are the undisputed number one when it comes to gospel music especially yoruba gospel

This is what i'll say.

My Grandfather is a superior Evangelist in Cele and has been in Europe for over 30 years. My entire maternal (?) family are all cele members here and in Europe.

In the mid 90's my grandfather came and talked and talked about why i refused to attend cele. Then i was just a christian by name without any knowledge of Gods word. Any way after so many talks, he carried me to the cele parish closest to our house. we met a 'wolly' who my grandfather tod to do a small 'ishe' for me. Not for any specific problem, but so i can be covered. So the bros did some prayer with plenty 'mimo' and sighs and holy angel calling and told me what to do. He gave me A very big bottle of perfume, 4 bars of imperial leather soap tied with some palm fronds and seven candles. Told me to say certain prayers into my bath water morning and night and pour the perfume into it before my bath for seven days. The seven candles were to be burned one every night for seven days with certain prayers and psalms read. When i am going to any important place i shoul use the perfume. Suffice to say i didn't obey any one of the instructions. and i thank God.

What's so bad about cele?
Members are not allowed to wear shoes in church or in church premises.In cold countries you are barefooted on cold paved floors and that can cause health problems.
In naija one can get glass shards,nails or any other sharp objects stuck up their poor feet.This happens more often than most cele people are willing to admit.
