This supper reciever has a space u insert ur sim, and u r good to go. It opens all scramled channels. Dstv, aljazeera, mytv etc. With my 15mb etisalat dash me, i watched all matches ystday and still hv 7mb. Na nepa light wey no dey dey kill me.

After doing a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) of the increase, from 9.9k (i pay before my subscription expires) to 11.65k within a month, i have decided as follows;

- Increase the subscription on my internet from 6k/month to 8k/month - this will afford me extra 8gb of data, hence my wife will have more data to download movies she would have seen on DSTV
- Stay tuned to 88.9 (brilla) for sports commentary, switch to 99.3 (Nigerian Info) intermittently for some jibes, this will allow me follow my darling team (arsenal)
- Invest my weekend in better endeavor

I am sure DSTV saw it as marginal (increase of N650 on 11k), I will rather abandon my decoder than pay any extra for the rip-off.
They have the monopoly in a city like Lagos, no doubt. They need to realize their service is not that essential to my living/survival to be paying 12k/month.
I have decided to to derive same satisfaction i derive from DSTV, from alternatives (Radio and Internet).

I am already working on getting CTL and will scale down to DSTV compact to reduce cost, that's all.

To hell with premier league and all things football. I am addicted to crime even though I watch TV for no more than 2hrs in a day. It seems DSTV has me by the balls. What do I do? aadetoyin: Its a pity that as rich as Nigeria is we cannot own a cable company like DSTV. The only reason DSTV is succeeding is because they do not have any competitors.
They increase subscription charges at will, remove our stations as they desire and still repeats shows.
If it is true that Tinubu wants to start a cable company, he should do it on time because we will gladly switch.
I was still telling hubby not to do DSTV cheat but right now I will encourage him to do it cos if they want to continue exploiting us then while should we care bout them.

I'm surprised that there are people here who didn't know there are so many alternatives to dstv in Nigeria. I have been using metro digital for three years and I watch all stations I could ever dream of watching on it. This includes la liga, epl, Italian league, French league etc. in fact all major sport shows including grand slams and ATP tours( if you love sports, go for metro or ctl). How about the news stations-CNN,bbc, aljazeera, etc.. then the national geograhics, animal planet, discovery channels(all these for N3500)... then the movie channels-mbc2, mbc4, osn, and so many of them.
After all these, I decided to buy a dstv decoder just two months ago for no reason at all(maybe to do big boy). I must confess the picture quality is superb. But I subscribed for family(because it falls in the price range I pay for metro). I ended up having only CNN and NTA as my favorite stations. All I could see was that other interesting channels were either scrambled or unavailable. Upon enquiries, I found out that those stations I was enjoying in metro for N3500(including ordinary BBc) I can only get them in dstv for 11k. Now I'm looking for a buyer(dstv decoder and every accessories) but people are pricing it 8k for a cable I bought for 30k and have lasted for less than 3 months...sobs

[color=#006600][/color]Its note their fault cos they usually pay crazy unjustifiable levies to the govt and have to recover it back som how.

My problem with this is that our regulatory agencies don't do their work but only collect bribe and look the other way.

DSTV blocks your viewing first thing in the morning on the day your subscription expires not minding the fact that payment was made at 4pm.

Someone must stop this thiefing foreign companies.

As For me I have removed myself before I get strAngled by the cable.
