cKaiser: This was the same man Ojuku went to supervise his death and mock while about to die.

Well as karma would have it, Ojukwu himself met a disgraceful end died deaf dumb and lonely

Ken Saro Wiwa lives on in our hearts

Saro Wiwa loved by all and a symbol of the struggle of the minorities who died for what he believed in while Ojukwu would forever remain a cantankerous coward who fled from and abandoned what he claimed he believed in
Two things; either people like you are not truly from the southsouth, or people like you are complete daft, can never learn from history again. If you are truly from southsouth, exercise patience, when Born to Rule takes power, they must surely remove the 13% from derivation, and if you make any noise or protest, they will make you drink buckets of crude oil flowing from your backyard, so along as Igbo is not standing on their way due to provocations by people like you.

Jubal Theophilus: Ken Saro Wiwa "GOODMORNIN".
U r a man of no vision if not u wld have seen what Ojukwu saw and hidded to his warnin and advice. A lesson 4 the pple of Niger delta & Jonathan.i repeat, "Divide this country". On Aburi we stand.

Divide and conquer. Africans just don't learn from our history. When we ae exterminated I will not blame our extermainaters, I ill blame people like you who don't want to unite.

If you arent blind in spirit you would notice it was your own disgusting ibo people who first brought Ojukwu to this thread
Lol. Apart from a few retards who may never again learn from the past, there are reasons to believe that many who comment on this thread are neither from Igbo nor from ss. Divide and rule agents are here. If there is any serious environmental degradation anywhere in the old southeastern region, before you say Ojukwu, Wiwa or Boro, other parts of the old region must bear the effects, one way or the other. Ss leaders say it, Ojukwu was instrumental to the 13% paid from derivation today. Note that Fulani recently has been agitating to have the 13% removed. Uuntil Fulani came with their collaborators and told their great lie that they liberated people of today's ss from their Igbo oppressors, people in the old southeast region lived in peace.

I was almost thinking that the lackadaisical attitude of our youths started today, now it is clear that an Event which could have triggered the mother of all riots in Nigeria was swept under the pages of news papers.
there is no hope for this country, not even prayers can change that. Funny enough, the people of the Niger delta at the time went to sleep while a few voices in the SW was demonstrating for the Ogoni 9, today, these fowl breathed menace of individuals, who were historically created blind, have the temerity to call their eye openers parasite, clueless generation.

Strong Nation, weak citizens!!

Legacy? The poor people of the Delta Nigeria continue to suffer in the midst of plenty. Black gold! undecided

Traditionally, Ogoniland is divided into the five kingdoms of Babbe, Gokana, Ken-Khana, Nyo-Khana, and Tai.

The Ogoni speak the related, mutually intelligible languages of Khana, Gokana, Tae (Tẹẹ), Eleme, and Ban Ogoi[2] part of the linguistic diversity of the Niger Delta.

According to oral tradition, the Ogoni people migrated from ancient Ghana down to the Atlantic coast eventually making their way over to the eastern Niger Delta. Linguistic calculations done by Kay Williams place the Ogoni in the Niger Delta since before 15 BC, making them one of the oldest settlers in the eastern Niger Delta region. Radiocarbon dating taken from sites around Ogoniland and the neighboring communities oral traditions also support this claim.

delegiwa: The rate at which topics degenerate to tribal wars on Nairaland is alarming. Look at a good topic on Ken Saro Wiwa - a man seen a martyr by his people and for very good reasons too!

You only need to go to Ogoniland and see the devastation caused by drilling.

There are bodies of water that will not be fit for consumption forever!

There are lands this will never tolerate vegetation for eternity!
There are little children that will never make it to their 6th birthday due to the pollution in their backyard!

Those are the issues and not if Saro Wiwa was a saint or not. The question should be: The 'cause' he was fighting for, was it for real? Of course it was. The devastation in their land is for real people. The fact that Saro Wiwa didn't join Ojukwu should not make us hate him. He may have had his reasons. It is not for us to judge him. By the way, who said the same devastation wouldn't happen under Biafra?

The issues he fought for are glaring for all to see. The ICJ has indicted Shell - the same thing Ken said and all these injustices against the Ogonis are not hidden anymore. Let's leave this man to rest in peace abeg.

Oh by the way, I'm from Arochukwu!

The above post is as idiotic as it could be and more. This is public forum and you must prepare to take good with the bad. If you do not like the heat then stay away from the kitchen. It is all good and dandy when doubled faced Ken Saro Wiwa took and enjoyed Shell BP scholarship only to turn around when he fail out federal government under Abacha. Ken Saro Wiwa led the group that killed famous Ogoni sons who were better than him and helped the scallywag secure positions he ordinarily would not have secured.

Nobody gives a hoot if you were the grandparents of Arochukwu. I hate when fools invoke the entity such as ICJ which represents the interests of colonialists and imperialists under the auspices of “new world order” to save face. Was it not the same ICJ that ceded Bakassi to Cameroon on the urging France, Britain and USA without taking into consideration the plights of people who called themselves Nigerians?

Whenever I see this picture, my hatred for the southerners who joined northerners to precipitated war of attrition against Biafra doubles ten fold. The young beautiful girl in the above picture has been sold to cancer unless there will be intervention by benevolent spirit.

G tell that to the cKaisers of NL. Unfortunate, some ss people - there are many of them - who refuse to learn from history would rather die prematurely from that cancer from environmental degradation than learn from the past.
