youngmonie: People have not really stopped and had a second thought on why there is so much lack of funding especially in the tertiary institutions. Its because students dont pay enough. 100k for three years whts that ? and you expect high quality education. Even in foreign countries, most tertiary institutions are funded by student fees and not government allocation. Take for the UK where even home students pay about £9000 per year which is excluding accommodation and cost of living which is roughly about 2million naira or America which is more expensive and not to talk of Intl students. With this fees the quality of education can improve as there is more funding for research, infrastructural development, training and development for the staff and for the university to implement any initiative it want. This is why ASUU can strike for as long as they want because of continuous dependence on government for funding.

I don't know why we keep arguing over this Private Uni vs Public Uni thingy, tbh it's tiring. For every public uni grad you boast of, there is a private uni doing just as well. E.g Gilbert Benson Oladeinbo (Best student in Law in Practice and Overall best student*, 2013) I remember shaking my head on here when folks on here mocked his 4.92 at Babcock Uni (2012). Please can we stop these unprofitable arguments, public Unis have their strengths so do their private counterparts and moreover brilliant students are everywhere.

Private Universties may have started as a safe haven for those who couldn't make the Public ones but that is definitely not the case today thanks to unending strike actions and lecturer migration plus the illusion of private Unis dashing out marks and grades are just that an "illusion".

Why spend so much on nigerian universities where you pay so much? No hating, i believe there are better and cheaper recognised institutions in Europe where the school fees for 1 year in these private university is equivalent to the school fees, hostel accomodation and feeding for 3-4 years in the universities.

Moreover their hostels are 2 in a room rather thank 4 or 7 in a room. Abi na poultry?

who are the lecturers? give us names, you wanted to say those Msc students or Phd students of UI who are Head of department in those private schools.

You can't see or know the uniqueness of UI because low level intellectual like you with 0.1 level of reasoning will not see anything good in UI.

for instance, in leadcity university when it two or three weeks to examination, the students are given 15 theory question to practice of which 6 of the 15 questions will appear in the exams and they are meant to answer 4 of the 6.
