GMB outliving that attack is something to be celebrated by all and sundry. Truth be told, many Nigerians only clamour for war not knowing what it's going to do to them and their loved ones. A multi-ethnic state like Nigeria would have been on the brink of war, if not full blown civil war with GMB's demise via that dastardly act.

We have a problem on our hands as terrorists continue not just to maim and kill but to set us against one another. Following each terrorist attack are the accusations and counter accusations. “They know only Igbos sell in that market, so they chose that market to bomb of all places in the north,” is a classic response from a bomb blast that ripped through Kano in northern Nigeria. It did not matter to the person who wrote the words that there is no way anyone would bomb a public place in Kano and not kill more northerners. Even if we took for granted that only a particular ethnic group sells wares in a selected Kano market, should we also assume all the customers and buyers are from the same place? When bombs go off in a church, you are likely to read, “this people are only killing Christians, it is a war against Christians.” You are not likely to read anything from such people when a Mosque gets attacked or when the insurgents kill a revered Islamic scholar. Those who see the world through their bias often times do not see it through the eyes of logic. So they are not likely to remember than bombs are not capable of separating people into ethnic or religious groups, bombs kill and maim everyone within the radius of impact.

Sadly, paranoia, tribalism and bigotry synonymous with the same folks is nothing new, it created the first coup in Nigeria and mass slaughter of Hausa and Yoruba military and political leaders, it also created the situation where another man from the same region was made the head of state and instead of doing what till today remains the only manner of military punishment for the offence committed by the murderers, he picked tribalism and bigotry by refusing to even slap them on the wrist.

The same bigotry, paranoia and tribalism led to the civil war and even after the war, it's today very much alive within the same group of people. It's even very worse today simply because the Aso Rock tribalist and bigot promotes the same tribalism, paranoia and bigotry..

We see and read the same thing on NR everyday, all their threads and topics are all bigotry, tribalism and paranoia related. Logic and intelligent reasoning means nothing to them because ti them, everything starts and ends with tribalism, bigotry and paranoia.

It's simply their way of life...

He has just removed the fingers pointing directly at him,he wants people to believe he is not the one behind it,but it still does't change the fact, nigerians understand the Game of politics perfectly well and still know,u can't create a drama yourself and still expect everyone to believe that, always have it in mind- some people have one than two eyes

Had we lost the General, the reaction from his supporters and fanatics could easily have plunged Nigeria into its worst chaos in a long time.

Nigeria is a land of the absurd, the strange and the illogical. So last Wednesday, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) organized to kill himself? Well, that is what those who see Nigeria through the lens of the 2015 elections want us to believe. There are many things wrong with politics and politicians in Nigeria but General Buhari is well and truly above that. Even his opponents admit he is well and truly above board when it comes to the shame and corruption that accompany Nigerian politics. There was clearly a suicide bomber and the bomber was obviously desperate to ensure the retired General was part of his eventual carnage. The incident has since happened, scores have died and Nigerians in their usual way have moved on. Had we lost the General, the reaction from his supporters and fanatics could easily have plunged Nigeria into its worst chaos in a long time.

That is the same logic to apply when someone like General Buhari survives a major attack that had his vehicles destroyed. That if the terrorists could strike right at a point where one of the nation’s could easily have been killed, they can get anyone. If they missed a major Islamic cleric by a matter of minutes and have killed some other ones, they certainly do not discriminate in terms of their intent; they want to kill anyone not open supportive of their evil and they are not afraid to go after high profile targets just as they kill the poor every other day if not everyday in the northeast.

We need a bi-partisan approach to the war on terror. We are of course not likely to get it soon if someone as highly involved as the minister of state could share an article link claiming one of the major opposition parties is supportive of Boko Haram. This is despite the fact that Boko Haram predates the party by at least 10 years. How can we have a bi-partisan approach to this war if politicians across the board insist on making this more about the 2015 elections than about what it is; a war on our country, our people and our way of life?

And if politicians insist on making it political all the time, what is the role of citizens and civil society? If the numbers get crunched, Nigeria’s poor masses have suffered a lot more in the hands of terrorism. The least we can do is to stop echoing the voices of those who insist on making this about politics and nothing else.

There is a bomb factory sponsored by the two
powers in KANO STATE. I am of the view that the
powers in kano state are the masterminders of
these incessant bomb attacks IN KANO STATE.
One of the powers was enthroned recently and
shortly after his enthronment there has been incessant bomb attacks IN KANO. The other
power IN KANO recently had a serious lingering
loggerheads with buhari and soon after that,
buhari's assassination was attempted with a
bomb. It might interest you to read the
documentry below: There are indications that a former Head of State,
Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and the
Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso,
may clash over their attempt at picking the
presidential ticket of the All Progressives
Congress. It was learnt that supporters from the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, which
was one of the three parties that merged to form
the APC, were already preparing for a showdown
with the APC governors who, it was learnt, were
planning to impose Kwankwaso as the
candidate from the North-West in the contest for the opposition party’s presidential primary. A
Buhari supporter, who requested anonymity,
told some journalists in Abuja on Saturday, that
any attempt to give the ticket to Kwankwaso
would threaten the party’s chances of winning
the presidential election in 2015. He said, “The CPC dissolved into the APC purposely to advance
Buhari’s presidential ambition. Any games by
some of the governors or anybody to push aside
Buhari or force him to transfer his enormous
political goodwill to another ambitious
candidate would not be acceptable. “Buhari is the pillar on which the hope of the APC stands in
2015 with respect to the North-west and any
political attempt to blackmail him on the basis
of the so-called desire to transfer power to
younger politicians would spell doom for the
APC. “Buhari’s age is inconsequential, because a 71- year-old aspirant with proven integrity is
better than 10 younger politicians if they are
rogues.” He warned that the alleged moves to
persuade Buhari to abandon his ambition “for
the sake of the so-called younger politicians and
larger party interest” would be resisted by Buhari loyalists from the former CPC. This unease,
among the Buhari supporters, according to
another former CPC member, was capable of
threatening the unity and cohesion in the APC.
The source said, “Let me tell you, nobody should
make the mistake of blackmailing Buhari out of the race. There is no compromise. “We, the
Buhari supporters, are not ready to allow
him transfer his political capital to any governor
who is more interested in using his goodwill to
advance his selfish ambition. Buhari’s integrity
has no equal and therefore, we have not discovered any governor in APC to match
Buhari’s uprightness.”

This issue has been thrashed over and over again. If he tried to kill himself, that's perfectly alright, i can understand that smiley. If not then i think it's high time he joins hands with President Jonathan to move the country forward. There is no law that says you must be a serving leader before you make an impact!

God know say Uncle Jona must complete e tenure after which we go handover to the East then back to South South again, then to the East, na so we go pass d baton round till we tire, grin.
