Talking about military might the united states wins no contest about that. But can you expect to go to war with a nuclear armed country and expect the war to stay conventional? Both the US have their nuclear weapons on hair trigger alert. They both have ICBM's(intercontinental balistic missiles, cruise missiles and the rest) It would be foolish for anyone of them to attack each other cos when it comes to nuclear armed conflict it only takes a handful of missiles and everything is up in smokes. Even the US cannot attack russia as it is cos of these weapons. Both countries nuclear stockpile is enough to destroy the whole world ten times over. The only method of dealing with russia is through the use of sanctions, trying to kill the economy of russia and that's the worse they can do.
