It's not self confidence ish as a lot of you present it to it, well, at least for me when I joined newly. I merely saw it as the norm or the right courtesy back then (2010) since you'd be notified of the acceptance and asked to write something on the person's timeline. lol

well I nor be sociologist neither a psychologist... but I tink DAT behaviour is kinda related to a term or a behavior reffered to as inferiority complex.
some naija guys will always do this because of d deceitful nature of our naija gals.
dey deceive us with their make up, weave-on and so on...of course through their profile pics..(those who will ask how?). and the guy will be like "dis babe fyn ooo shey make i send am request? but dis gal big ooo...see her weave-on, bag...well make i .just try, after all no harm in trying.." dis only applies to the teenagers especially d single ones who is sending request to one aunty wey senior d guy by far.
and wen d aunty finally accepts ....mehn d guy don win Jack pot.

That is 2010, pls this is 2014....... I guess it has become the norm especially between the kids that has flooded....... Atimes if you come across a girl's wall on FB, the No of thanks for accepting me ish is so much that you will think she is getting paid for the gratitude..... You might think its an act of courtesy but most of these girls translates it into something else, that it sometimes get into their especially those that are rude by default..... I have seen a female writing it on another female freind's wall and males too sometimes do it though not common......
