All hands must be on deck to curtail the spread of the disease. Hospital management must make sure all secondary contact of the index case are properly quarantine and monitored. No single person should be left out. Ebola can be brought under control. If little Uganda did it, Nigeria can surely do it. Nigerian government need to collaborate with our west African neighbors Cameroon, Niger, Benin, Chad and Togo on how to curtail spread of Ebola through the borders. There's no point working hard to curtail the disease only to be spread through the land borders. This is my major concern. Most of our borders are crowded, dirty, and are lacking sanitary facilities. A lot has to be done to make sure that the borders are not just clean but also Ebola free. 2 Likes |

If you are Nigerian, please do not believe any of these Ebola stories unless you can trace them to a credible sources and do not believe those that would dismiss your fears as conspiracy theories because there are indeed forces out there determined to destroy your Nation. Don't help to make their task easier by helping them paint Nigeria as if it was an Ebola ridden place. You true Nigerians are the ones that will suffer for it. 4 Likes 1 Share |

In fact, it is getting to a stage were any more Ebola tale is counter productive even if true and the Moderators should start now preventing any more Ebola tales from being posted. 2 Likes |

many dumb posters here. the new infections are not random infections, they are the spouses of the primary infected nurses. the nurses must have been infected by they new cases developed in quarantine, not on the streets, actually the health ministry tried in the containment and public enlightenment concerning this virus. 4 Likes |

hotmolo: Dis is what that pear shaped head of a man has caused... Mr man are u happy now where ever u are? May God save usI don't blame Patrick Sawyer that much, but Labaran Maku. In April Maku boasted that Nigeria had healthy facilities to combat the Ebola virus. This is the reason I don't blame the wife of Sawyer who said her husband came to Nigeria in search of treatment because of his lack of confidence in the health sector of Liberia. The late Sawyer might have been "convinced" by the comment of Maku. It now behoves Jonathan to call Maku to order on his utterances. David Mark once complained about Maku's incessant comments that are unguarded. 2 Likes |

This is not the time to play politics. The health minister keeps changing his figures every now and then. Doesn't fill me with confidence. If he does not know what he is doing, he should resign or be sacked. He is after all a direct reflection of his aides. 3 Likes |

That's what we get when we allow a reaction based govt to run our affairs. I thought the secondary contacts would av been isolated and tested extensively by now. Let the FG come in and show real seriousness if it goes beyond Lagos it all responsibility will finally rest on our 2015 focused Centre shoulders. 1 Like |

Yet another failure record for the vagabonds in power. They had to wait to record an ebola case before taking any action on ebola! If only the vagabonds in power had been proactive If only we don't have a clueless president surrounded by corrupt lazy bones... ... Things prolly wouldn't have gone this bad. If we secure our borders, set up quarantine and testing facilities and screen every single traveller, we will get over this fast. Also, contact tracing should be thoroughly done and timely! 4 Likes |
