Marcar & Tony_runo,

How are u both enjoying Australia? I would be sending in my Australia student visa application soon. I need your guidance on the "must do" to ensure my application is successful. The tuition fee is AU$20,000p.a., and the course is for 18months, that brings the tuition to about AU$30,000. I have sat the IELTS test with a total band score of 7. I understand they are very strict with the sponsor's financial standing, your advice please. My email address is: abelonuwa@yahoo.com
I look forward to hearing from you soon. I would appreciate if we could get talking on phone.

Best regards,
Alphabravo

Most peeps came at different times so it varies, todays' price is not tomorrows bargain.

Emirates or Singapore Air are the best bets IMHO.

Marcar, don't listen to any of these guys, they are bunch of idiots looking for cheap stuff.
Tell them to visit the nearest Australian High Commission if they need any form of visa and fulfil the entry requirements.

How are you guys finding it in Aussie? I know it's an old thread but I found every bit of the discussion on this thread fascinating and educative. Meanwhile, I believe things change with time, I was wondering if you guys still keep an eye on this thread as I would like to find out some certain information directly from you both, most especially about studying in Perth, current visa processing issues and overall cost of living over there. I already tried to pm you guys but not sure if it ever come thru, please kindly inbox me a few line of message on my regular email; oluseyenathaniel[at]yahoo[.]com

@maileby;

I presume you should have finish your Bsc program over there by now or something. Can you please enlighten me about what studying Computer Science @ Under Graduate Level is like? I need a Uni with cheap and cost-affordable fee structure, which can you suggest? What's the overall monthly cost of living like there? oluseyenathaniel[at]yahoo[.]com

@jennykadry;

Ma, I have been following your posts on various contributions you have made towards helping the intending Oz Universities Applicants with vital information, I really need your help as to which of the Universities offers Bsc in Computer Science with cheap fee structure, cheap city to live in? And the current financial requirements for a student visa application.. Do you live in Adelaide? In which of the universities is your cousin studying? I was told there are plenty of job opportunities in Aussie, are the degree students allowed to work part time jobs also? Your swift response will be greatly appreciated here is my regular email; oluseyenathaniel[at]yahoo[.]com in case there is a need for you to get in touch with me directly considering the fact that this is an old thread.

Aussiechick001....Australia is lovely country, with a great work life balance and pretty scenery.

However, I have to admit it can be quite a racist country at times.

It is especially racist towards Aboriginal people. Sorry, but that is the truth.

Its still a great country though.

Yes but not every aussie is like that or is racist..Dont let that stop you from coming here and making a new life..There is racism in every country..and above all our authorities do not tolerate it and thats the way it shud be.Its not as bad as wot u think it is..my advice is..Forget what anyone say..This is a land of much opportunity to better yourself here..and to live a good life..

Aussie chick, I know that not every person is racist. That too goes for all countries actually.

I already live in Australia.......in Perth in fact.

I just wanted to point out that the "we are the world" view you are describing is not the general case, and is definately not the case for Aboriginal people of Australia.

Australians are generally nice and friendly, but they often believe in their own perceived racial superiority.

Which among New south wales, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide has the lowest cost of living? I'd like to know rough guess/calculation of how much it would take to sustain a month for a Postgrad student. Simple analysis would be appreciated.
Thanks.
@DC Trendy, 2me, the distance aint an issue even if its 48hrs on air since I wouldn't be coming back the following month.lol

Yes I do blame them actually.........

@Jennykadry....you need to read up on the history (even recent) between native Australians and White Australians....you will quickly see why they "refuse to appreciate" what they are "offered" in their own land, may I add.

Seriously, its best to actually find out the history of a place when you choose to live there.

Have you read about the stolen generation at all? Better still, actually speak to some Aboriginal people.........

Wow, so may the sins of the father be placed on the children, is what you mean? It's okay for them to be angry at the white Australians because they were literally chased out of their own land and homes? Do the whites have to suffer for what generations before them caused? Have you forgotten already that our people were sold out during the slave trade? Do I unleash my anger on this generation for something that happened years before I was born.

It is okay for them to go into shops and steal things(not limited to them), it is okay for them to get a car and a house, declare bankruptcy and the government pays it off for them, yet the whites are not given such opportunity. It is okay for them to for no reason yell at bus, train and cab drivers because of the ill that befell them many years ago? It is okay for them badgee into people's houses at night and rape the girls? It is okay for them use bricks to shatter people's car windows and what not? Itis okay for them to look a black person in the eye that refused them cash and tell the person to "GO back to their country"? It is okay for them to get drunk with the money they got from the government? It is okay for them to receive loans from banks without drama but the white person refused? It is okay for them to go to people's houses and demand to use their phones? its okay for their kids to go to school without food and get food provided for them for free but a white child who forgets his lunch pack at home receives nothing to eat until they get home? Are they good ones amongst them? Heaps

You know what? I was going to have a decent convo with you but I thought against it after reading the quoted post of yours. You know what? No I know nothing about their culture and what they have been through, why should I know? I only came here for work and to make money and that is my priority but I also have come in contact with more women who were raped by these peole in the middle of the night and in their own house.

Enjoy

Yes thats very true in all aspects...but we cant blame them for the government actions. The government has only been trying to cover its ass from all the maltreatment to the stolen generation by buying them to shut them up.Nothing can ever change the past, but u know what..good on the aboriginals finally being recognised as people instead of savages.I think Australians as a people, are trying to give them a fair go..Im all for equality. The racism also comes from the war years.Regardless how good the government gives them..they have every right to be here just like us.up until say the past 20 yrs they have been pushed out in missions seperated from whites not all but most or towns out west like dubbo and top of Australia..Alot of Aboriginals are really trying to fit into mainstream Australia and so they should. They have every right to but I must say is not their fault.People should stop blaming them and and give them a fair go..When it all boils down to it it is the governments fault like i said they just trying to cover their asses.Yes as Australians we are friendly and kind but there are ones out there that think they too should get everything for nothing..and these are the dole bludgers..20 30 or 40 yrs on the dole never have a job coz they are too lazy too work..it works both ways..Im not gonna get into a debate over racism..coz as a whole Australia is a very lucky and beautiful country with many opportunities for anyone that wants to have a go and live a good life..We are a self sufficient country in everything.Im proud to be an Aussie.I cant change the past and if the aboriginals get a hand out to help them then so be it..and when they abuse that right then it shud be monitored just like it shud for the whites here too.Its just an unending debate..whos right and whos wrong..I believe whats good for the whites is good for the blacks too..in everyway!!And on a last note grin Australia is a great place to live grin If there are any bosoms about this wonderful country...and your not happy being here...then just go back to where you are from...or lob in another country...and see how good you get it there!!

@Jennykadry.....I was not saying it was okay to be criminal, but none of those offences you mentioned are particular only to the Aboriginal people.

It was obvious to me that you didn't know of the history, that is why I asked you.

Maybe its time you read about it though, (especially the stolen generation which ended in the 1980's) that way you can develop a greater insight as to where some of the anger stems from.

@Aussiechick....you are right, Aboriginals do have every right to be a part of Aussie life, after all, they are the first/original Australians right?

As I have said before, Australia is a great country (one of many).

Even though it has its share of racism, on balance its still a good place to live for me at the moment. When that ends, I will move on.
