The sense of entitlement comes from the fact that they believe they have contributed enough to South Africa and have suffered generations under a brutal regime, therefore they are entitled to the government doing everything for them since the previous one so neglected them.

The political and economic structures inherited by SA pre 1994 facilitates this thought process when in fact it does nothing for their mentality as they remain tribalistic, nepotistic and corrupt as many African governments remain.

Poor Chinese don't migrate to SA and if they do, they don't find themselves in areas where they cheat the system to qualify for services meant for South Africans. Zimbabweans did this and it created resentment which led to violence.

I don't see where tribalism and nepotism fits in but it's true that a sense of entitlement exists which then makes me wonder how it's possible to feel inferior and be jealous of other people who are on the same or lower class. The sense of entitlement is also maintain by a government that continues to deliver on social programmes albeit not properly. South Africans would have long lost their sense of entitlement had the government stole all the money and delivered nothing like much of Africa.

Looking from where this people come from. Most of them are highly educated but they don't sit at home waiting for an office Job till eternity after graduating, they studied in candle lit houses, leaking roofed schools, and had to carry water from the village centre tap or the wall up the valley but they are never lazy to work hard to make life better for themselves instead of striking for a better living.
