no I feel insulted, beside I take all that into consideration before posting that. secondly apart from the power issue all the hardware is a one time investment. the only disadvantage to It is, it is localized.

my bad. plus it's more capital intensive.

what is this one saying?

who told u DAT u can buy 10gb for less than 7k?

if u dunno anything abt data share, comoh road n don't add to our vexation

if we sell for 1100, we will gain 1k per 10k

yet we still have to top up once a week to make sure the validity is 30 to 27 days

does it look like we are selling pepper here

If only all resellers will maintain uniform price on the dat plans.... The unhealthy competition amongst us caused it all. Take it or leave it

But one problem... Some resellers are very old in this business so no matter the price they fixed they have loyal customers that will always buy from them, What about those who are new to the business? How would they attract customers when everybody have the same price? Those old resellers did exactly the same thing when they started...They reduce their price(and make promos) to attract customers and after attracting a lots of loyal customers they now have a fixed price. This data reselling business is big enough to accommodate everybody! Any data resellers can be swift, fast, trusted and reliable. The only difference between them is their price. Some of them are ok with little profits so they sell cheaply, others want only large profit. Everybody needs is different. As long as they are not occupying anybody spaces why blame them? The number of resellers is not limited...If they all agree on a fixed price and some resellers have more customers won't the others feel cheated? smiley

Besides no matter the price MTN will still do this. They will always try to blocked anything that is a threat to their business. The data resellers plan is way better than any MTN plan. Imagine MTN selling 200mb for 1k and 150mb for N500 only for a week.Even a data reseller selling 1gb for N1500 is still better than any MTN plan. We should stop this blame game, MTN would still block it regardless the price.

Why not take to twitter and other social medias and bombard them with emails with a screenshot of the FAQs page to protest this madness of MTN?..

I believe the so-called "old resellers" introduced some, if not, most of the newbies into the business. So their way of saying thank you for introducing em into the "milky&honey" business is to target their customers by advertsing their data plans at almost zero-profit prices? And you think the old reseller will keep mum and watch them redirect his customers to themselves... These brought all these unnecessary price reduction... Let me tell you, i have about 50GB stuck, but if i were MTN, i would do the same. We abused the service, believe me! We made it look like we own it. LOOL! Take airtime distributors for example, Go to Mr A in Calabar and Mr B in Lagos... They all distribute to their sub-delears at the same rate and are making their money! Did you know NCC is the reason why voice calls are not cheaper? They regulated it when they noticed anti-competitive prices among our carriers... If not, who knows by now, we would've been making national calls at 2NGN per minute. Yes! We would all like to make calls at such rate, but will this keep the service alive? Let's sit back and devise the best way to target customers and not making that SME data appear too common.... That's if MTN will relent on this their harsh term and restore it since they claimed it's an error. LOL!
PS: I had wanted to compile the numbers of all data resellers that is within my reach and see if we could have a union to address this unhealthy competition issue before MTN gave us the shocker of life, but that fear for verbal exchange... I saw the shocker coming sha, but not this soon

I'm with u 100%
I hope that gal that sold 250mb for 200 naira is happy now

I respect octavo anytime, if I'm ryt, he is d first Nairalander to start the biz

wen I saw 250mb for 500 naira, I was shocked, I was among his early patronizers

very okay price

at dis juncture is where I wish google wasn't existing

and I wish mtn displayed their msg as " UV been transferred 250mb" without including SME share

if it were so, probably octavo would b d only reseller or we would have very few resellers

and blv me, SME share wouldn't have come to this

ppl wasted data, after all they bought it for just 200 naira

new resellers caused traffic

nigerians always misuse everything given to them

Mr no one is against octavo.

I respect octavo as I have done business with him time past in respect to a phone. So I hold him in high esteem and will accord him respect any day anytime. He taught 98% of everything there is to the data business. Yes I say so openly.

Now sir you have to understand this about market. As I had said earlier we operate a free market system where every one can sell an item at any price they wish too. That's why its call capitalism. And needless I remind you that price regulation or control have never been and will never be completely successful. Some few examples fan be seen

1. China. Even with how China boast of a socialist government there is still high variation on price of items among sellers

2. Nigeria: Sir though I was never born as at the time of General Bihari / Odiagbon but history tell us that there was war against indiscipline and also price control where price of items were regulated. But even at this some sellers sold more than the other. Woke Soyinka stated this clearly in one of his interview against buhari.

3. Senegal or so (I think its Senegal I can't recall which country). In that country even with the price regulation of cement. Dangote a foreigner went in and slashed the price to half its normal price this send vibrations to every cement maker.

All my above three examples are to show that you can't completely wipe out competition or ensure a fixed price for an item through out a market not even the best socialist government of China could do it how much more we Nigerians.

That been said. Now is not time to trade blames or insults or complains. No matter how long you keep on shouting octavo !! Octavo !!! Or resellers it will not crash the price or revert the issue of SME DATA SHARE. what we should be talking of now is SOLUTIONS, not just solutions but Viable ones. This is the way forward. Rather than shouting octavo or reseller spoilt this and that.

Can we take a legal against this zero integrity company?I just confirmed from their FAQ on SME Data Share as a basis of such legal action 'Is there a limit to the number of beneficiaries that I can share data with? No, there is no limit as long as the sponsor has enough data to share'.
