Can we look at this last statement "I think Buhari, Babangida and yes Obasanjo should simply allow others try their hand instead of believing they have the monopoly of wisdom" These men were part of the military regime including Abacha (late) that lead this country in a backward manner. The worst political leaders we have had, is far far productive than their military regime time. Of what hope do we have, that coming out this time as a political leader these time without uniform will be productive or lead us into that promise land?
The most annoying thing, is that, our politicians did not learn the lessons of our military rule in these country, which is why, they still dine and wine with these set of people. During the era of Buhari, it was because of second in command (Idiagbon) the impart of discipline was observed. He is only taking the glory now.

I posted something about Idiagbon last year giving him credit for the policies he implemented. Most people jockeying Buhari for this position on NL were most likely babies like me or not even born. We did not live the reign of terror, I suggest those for him talk to elders about what was going on as I did to get a broader perspective.

One thing for certain, you could not and would not even dare rain Buhari with insults like they do GEJ, online in protest, how ever.

I am a pensioner yet, confuse about who Nigerians are. . As Tambuwal showed up, things just turn down ward for Buhari. Nigerians cannot be judged accurately. They, are neither there nor here. They are sometime certain and at another moment, become uncertain. That is why many others outside describe Nigerians as confusing, unreliable beings etc. What about when some rep. member jointly bought the form for Tambuwal. It means all othese people know that Buhari will not make, yet there standing behind him. tufiakwa
Sanusi and their likes should have known that Buhari is out of fashion, especially these days. They refused to inform him until when Tambuwal surfaces. This means that if Buhari is allowed to contest and come out as a failure, these set of Sanusis' will go to court, will protest, cause trouble and can even cause deaths since it is in their DNA and as Islamists, whereas it is clear in their inner mine that Buhari cannot win elections now. Why are the hausa like this? Always aiming at causing trouble etc?
Do you really think Tinubu will let Buhari in?

It is not just Nigeria my friend.
For example, can you imagine the turn of events in American politics? Now the Ebola and Isis scare has disappeared from CNN. The Republicans are in and sold America to the Koch brothers.
Back to your point about Tambuwi
They needed Buhari as a carrot to pump up APC membership simple!

Excerpts from http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/buhari-has-nothing-to-offer-should-retire-says-el-rufai/
Buhari has nothing to offer…should retire says El-Rufai
The attention of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been drawn to statements from Generals Muhammadu Buhari and Ibrahim Babangida purporting to be responses to the advice he gave both men to retire.

Since Babangida libelled whole generations of Nigerian youth as being unfit for leadership, age has become an issue in the coming elections. While it is true that neither youth nor age supplies wisdom on their own, it makes sense to ask those who have been recurring decimals in our country’s sorry history to leave the stage. That is all El-Rufai asked of these men who seem to think that their failure to do their best for Nigeria when they had the chance qualifies them for a return to office. Our people surely deserve better.

El-Rufai is amazed that General Buhari cannot debate this matter without scurrying to the gutter, making claims that are baseless and unsupported by any facts. Mallam El-Rufai’s tenure as FCT minister was a period of stellar performance in remaking our federal capital. Despite the difficult decisions that had to be taken to restore Abuja, Mallam El-Rufai continues to receive deserved praise and recognition for his achievements in restoring the Abuja master plan, introducing Nigeria’s first computerised land registry and helping thousands of Nigerians achieve their dreams of home ownership in the federal capital. Buhari is perhaps one of a tiny few blinded by their prejudice from recognising the quality of El Rufai’s service.

That same prejudice accounts for the baseless claims of corruption Buhari levels against El Rufai. The fact is that Mallam El-Rufai served Nigeria with integrity and has never been convicted of any corrupt act. He is boldly contesting the false charges which the Yar’Adua government filed against him in court. It is strange that a Buhari who protests when unproven claims of N2.5 billion (about US $3billion in those days!) missing oil funds are levelled against him can gleefully elevate similar claims into facts when it concerns another. How would Buhari feel if the corruption allegations made against him by Group Captain Usman Jibrin, then a board member of PTF, are today reported as if they were proven facts? So much for “corrupt background” and “shoddy performance”.

Read the Same El-Rufai in 2014
Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo cannot be absolved from whatever crisis Nigeria is going through.

Speaking on a radio programme, “Face the Nation,” broadcast on Rockcity 101.9 FM, Abeokuta, yesterday, Mallam El-Rufai, who served in the administration of Obasanjo from 2003 to 2007, first as Director General Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) and later as Minister of FCT, believes that the selection of Umar Yar’Adua, as the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and his support for Goodluck Jonathan to emerge as a presidential candidate in 2011, was the root of the leadership crisis, the country is facing.

According to him, “the fact that he (Obasanjo) is the president that handed over to Yar’Adua and Jonathan, he cannot be fully absolved. Of course, he may have his reasons. Some people attribute bad motives, some think he made a big mistake. I think the truth is somewhere in-between but what Nigeria is going through right now is a direct result of decisions and actions, omission or commission by President Obasanjo, no doubt about it.”

“I think he is aware of this and that is why he wrote that long letter to try to begin to distance himself from the administration. He is consciously aware of this.”

Yes. Did I hear Sanusi say we need many Buharis to clean up the system? So Buhari is now the bastion of integrity? A bastion of integrity dining and wining with the Chief of Corruption (Tinubu)? This is an insult to our intelligence. Buhari, I repeat Buhari is far from a man of integrity. Buhari is a man of corruption PERIOD. Check out all his political allies and you will realize and understand that bird of the same feather rocks together. Not to talk of him being a fanatic and an extremist with Political/Religious agenda, who should have been thrown in Jail for crimes against humanity. So terrible were his policies during the reign of terror (1983 - 1986) that Fela called him 'An Animal in Human Skin'. Those of us who were there have not forgotten the sight of seeing people wiped like animals with terrifying looking kobokos all in the name of order and discipline. Jailing innocent people for imaginary crimes of corruption and letting the corrupt ones who ironically happens to be his friends ride around town freely. We certainly have not forgotten his disdain for democracy. His HATE for democracy sad was so great anyone who's brave enough to say the word 'Democracy' finds himself killed by killer squad or is imprisoned without trial. A fanatical terror with worst records of human rights abuses all in the name of fighting corruption. So much for a beast now a saint who love Nigeria? shocked Tell that to the birds.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi himself is just an fanatical as Buhari. It still beat my imagination that Emir Sanusi was ones the CBN gov. SLS is a loss cause. An economic prof with one of the most prestigious University in the country ones said that Nigeria will live to regret the actions of SLS visavis the Nigerian economy. He describes the CBN policies under SLS as time bombs waiting to explode to ravage the economy in future. The prof even went ahead and stated that late President Musa Yar'adua's appointment of SLS as Gov of CBN is the worse mistake ever! SLS was never fit to be CBN gov.
Well, not many people gave the prof a chance. Many thought he was a drunk seeking attention. Now am beginning to see what the prof saw seven years ago.

Op what you simply end up doing is first of all showing the world what a brilliant and forthright man SLS is. Secondly u just put the personalities of GMB and GEJ into to perspective taking the pain of reading the entire article by SLS which for reasons best known to u have to wait till later to post in full the only reason SLS was not too receptive to GMB presidency then was because he blv it is not given that he can replicate his success in 1983 and that there is a need for a new set of leaders.

with d benefits of hindsight am sure SLS had realised the fallacy of the assumption that a young and fresh face would necessarily bring the desired change.

I pray nay i dare anyone post an article that can succinctly describe GEJ's policy after 4 yrs in power the way and manner GMB's 18 months in power can be explained.

GMB might not be able to replicate the successes recorded over 30 yrs ago but at least we know we have a man that is unapologetic-ally pro Nigeria, pro masses and has the desire and fire to get d job done and not blame everything but himself for the failings of his government.
SLS is very educated and an eloquent speaker. I am a person that see's wisdom in words or actions without insulting the messenger, unless he proves to be unscrupulous. SLS brought sanity to the banking system, but his lack of taking the money exchange out of his tribes power still troubles me to this day. I actually will take that dare up with you regarding GEJ's policy later this week.

You seem to be very intelligent, do you really think Tinubu and Buhari in 2014 can combine in the APC and bring change to Nigeria. I need an honest answer please my friend.

The man he worked under Abacha banned political activity of any kind, fired a large portion of the military, controlled the press like Tinubu does in Lagos, assembled a personal security force of 3,000 touts. Abiola and Olusegun Obasanjo(this one he knew he would ravish 9ja 1 day), jailed for treason. Wole Soyinka, charged with treason, and the one that takes the cake imprisonment, trial, and subsequent execution for treason of writer Ken Saro-Wiwa and other Ogoni activists who were concerned with the environmental exploitation of their region by multinational petroleum companies.

Buhari supported this with funds from his department yes o no?
What about the $3 billion dollars frozen in accounts around the world who issued that type of money?

[size=18pt]It’s the party of change, it’s the party to be in, and it’s the party to realize every dream. Its manifesto has said we are giving more than a million jobs to youths; every unemployed youth is entitled to at least N5, 000 a month.

There’s housing and I’m talking genuine housing, low-cost housing for people, the expansion of Lagos State in terms of housing is one of the things we’re looking at. There’s so much, not just promises but things you know they can do.

A simple example is what you see happening in Osun State which is almost like a blueprint where even children are entitled to lunch; they are entitled to one meal a day from the government. Those are the kinds of social welfare we’re talking about, alleviating the problems and the poverty of people.

This is a party that means change; all I’m asking for is people should get into this boat and seize this opportunity to be in this party because it is indeed the party of change. It is diversified in terms of the people that are members of the party, you couldn’t ask for anything better

Buharism as Fascism: Engaging Balarabe Musa
By
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi
London, February 20, 2003
(All views personal)
lamidos@hotmail.com

In the fortnight so following Eid el-Adha, two incidents occurred that have compelled me once more to write on Buharism, this time with a sense of urgency and near desperation. The first was an interview that the former civilian Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Abdukadir Balarabe Musa gave Tell magazine, in which he dismissed General Muhammadu Buhari as a fascist who, by virtue of that fact, was incapable of reforming Nigeria. In this piece I will analyze this categorization and expatiate on the nature and implications of Buharism as fascism. I will for now only note that when asked whom he would choose between Obasanjo and Buhari, the radical PRP governor could only hope that “it does not come to that”. In a naïve, somewhat amusing manner, he pretends away the reality that Nigerians today have only one serious choice to make for all intents and purposes; and that choice is between Obasanjo, who by Balarabe Musa’s own admission has betrayed his supporters and been a complete failure and disappointment on the one hand, and Buhari, who according to Musa is a fascist, on the other hand. We have to choose, like it or not, between a failure and a fascist. What choice must the progressive politician or analyst make? History, in throwing up the question, demands an answer. Balarabe Musa’s refusal to make a choice was, as we shall see, telling in more than one respect.
http://www.gamji.com/sanusi/sanusi32.htm

At the end he said:
The final analysis, progressives must make a choice between four more years of Obasanjo/Atiku on the one hand, and Buhari on the other. History demands of us that we make that choice and history will judge us appropriately. As for me, I have made my choice. Buhari is not perfect, but he has my vote.

I will not deny that Buhari's term as Head of State was a good start and his polices were sound.

Honestly, I just don't want anymore leaders that had anything to do with blood shedding. I have seen so much progress in Nigeria even with the Boko Harem life is improving and developments have been made. The first year in office we had like 50 bomb blast and thousands of people died but still the country is progressing. For example:

On March 29th, 2011, The UK Government in London described Nigeria as the fourth fastest growing economy in the world.

On February 13 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan launched the Public Works Women and Youth Empowerment Programme, an intervention programme designed to employ 370,000 youths in the year 2012 with 30% of those jobs being reserved for women.

The Federal Government under President Jonathan has secured investment commitments worth 4.89 Trillion Naira.

Launched the NigComSat-1Rsatellite which will help expand Internet Bandwidth, monitor the weather and provide early warning to prevent natural disasters like floods, crop monitoring and urban planning. It has the attendant benefit of reducing the over $1 billion spent in purchasing Internet Bandwidth from abroad.

Nigeria’s banking industry rescued and stabilized by the establishment of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) in the year 2010.

MasterCard made Nigeria its regional headquarters for its West/East and Indian Ocean islands zone raising the profile of Nigeria’s e-commerce industry.

Nigeria’s GDP grew by a record 8.29% during the last quarter of 2010 and by over 7% in 2011. In the first quarter of 2012 Nigeria had verifiably become the fourth fastest growing economy in the world as recently attested to by several multilateral bodies and trading partners.

Revival of the Textile industry via the 150 billion Naira Textile Industry Bailout. As a result the United Nigerian Textile Limited was reactivated amongst others and 2000 employees re-engaged.

Non oil exports from 2010 (standing at $2.3 Billion) and subsequent years are ten times what they were in 2000 (which were $200 Million) as a direct result of this administration’s intervention in the Textile Industry and Real Sector.
