Am not supporting neither of PDP or APC...But this is impunity anf lawlessness at its peak...How can only 9 lawmakers who doeant form the needed two-third majority, impeach the speaker....

Seven members of Ekiti State House of Assembly backed by well armed policemen today impeached the speaker of the state house of Assembly, Adewale Omirin.

The seven persons were shepherded into the state assembly complex by Bayelsa born Mobile Police Commander, Selenkere Michael, to carry out an illegal act.

The police prevented 19 others including the substantive speaker from entering the assembly complex earlier today. one Olugbemi, was purportedly “elected” by the seven-man house as speaker.

bros it is clearly written in the article “to be impeached” is not the same as “has been impeached”.the op of this thread is just trying to stir up trouble and with the rate at which these people are bringing false stories here I just pray they don't create problems for the forum in the long run.

When i heard fayose saying he has changed during his camping , i told people that it will be easier for me to run past my granma in a race for fayose to be a changed man . Ekiti people has not seen anything yet . Some of them will still run away

This is a welcome development. Am not surprise
cos it had happened before in this our dear
country.
But my questions are
where is the constitution,
where is the judiciary when they are needed to
interpret the law.
The drama of 16 > 19 is still fresh in our memory,
and this is the drama of 7 > 19, so any thing can
happen in our beloved country.
Anyway am proud to be a nigerian.

The last timei checked, Ekiti has 16 LGAs. How come they have 26 assembly members? If 7 is with the PDP, then 9 and not 19 is with APC. Please I stand to be corrected if am wrong.

Well, I'd educate you, cos that's why we are here. For the purpose of the House constituencies, Ekiti has 26. That's because some local governments are large, reason being that they're a fusion of close to 12 communities in some. Because of this, some local governments have 2 constituencies. I hope you get it now?

Fayose is back. Because the executive controls the beacon the legislation dances to their tune, until the legislation understand the powers they have they will continue to languish in executive slavery. It can only happen in Nigeria/Africa where rascals are entrusted with power and they turn the whole place to a jamboree.

guy don't fool urself, pple like Fayemi is too gentle 4 9ja politics that is what Fayose capitalise on. If APC is based on propanganda while don't PDP win Osun then ? Aregbesola marched PDP money 4 money, campaign to campaign and thugs to thugs. The only two states am afraid PDP may take over in SW is Ogun and Oyo which have deep crisis rocking APC in both, but any other state control by APC will be retain back by APC.

How can 7 legislators impeach the speaker when there are 26 members in the house. The era of impunity, irresponsibility and disregard for the rule of law is here again. The is what Ekiti state will get for electing a thug abi former thug as governor. Stomach infrastructural politics is working.
