My main issue with one engine fighters is that they are only good for countries with a lot of helicopters or small territory.

First one was from thisdaylive which was involved in pushing the hoax and lies about her death. So it is already suspect that it is only the same thisdaylive website that mentions her in 2013.

The other link is also suspect because it seems to be just an IP address which takes you to a website with information that anybody can edit.


The thisdaylive write up says she is a member of Nigerian Medical Assoc. Yet the Nigerian medical assoc has never mentioned her or even acknowledged her death.

Well, its a case of what are the available options, is it the Migs with problematic engines? or with the issues with the SU-30 of the indian Airforce, the fleet has crashed 5 times between 2009 and now like christmas fowl, grounded twice between 2013 and now, Pilot seats ejecting prior to landing which happened in October, or is it the cost of production shooting up from $20 million to $75 million despite production shifting to HAL facilities in India. We have had situations where the pilots have had to land with single engines when the SU-30 engines failed and the Indian airforce as a precautionary step, it has started servicing the engine after 700 hours instead of the mandated 1,000 hours of flying, adding to the non-availability of the aircraft.

At this point in time, with the non-availability of western Jets, the JF-17 is the best we can get.

Honestly, I'm not too fussed about the engine, whether single or double, as long as it is 4th gen. bird in adequate quantity that can protect the country's airspace. I'm more in interested in technology transfer - that would be a steal for naij.

Brazil has a lot of its indigenous and not really great Super Tucano in its inventory. And the UK had only the problematic Tornado gr4 for a long time, before the Typhoons were built.

Too much diversification in the nigerian airforce. Why not focus on one airframe and master it. We re buying scorpion and thunders at the same time and we re surprisingly buying them to play the same role "counter insurgency" which mostly involves ground attack. So if its possible why don't we just buy two squadron of SU30's and train with them. A jack of all trade will remain a master of none. And its not as if when we buy this different airframe we buy them in bulk.

You still try self for su30 and asking about the su37,with proper fitting they can detect enemy troops and differentiate them from nigerian forces,tunnels, IEDS and EODS
