Traditionally, the party with the incumbent president avoids primaries (except in cases of extremely poor performance) in order to avoid dividing the base and take full advantage of the powers of incumbency.

The same way u cannot tel the avg northern youth about not voting buhari is the same way you can't tell the southern ppl includin majority of the christian yourbas that a buhari can save nigeria. I disagree,over 85% of Atiku and Kwankwaso votes came up north whose total vote is over 38% put together.Most of his votes came from south west and north as such,he is nationally accepted.If Atiku and kwankwaso votes be added to GMB,he will get over 80%.This off-course is your view and we thank you most sincerely.GMB 2015

Buhari is not clueless, I watched the same interview and I rated him 8/10. I have also watched Buhari on BBC hard biting HARDTALK some eight years ago and I was impressed. He was sharp and engaging and took no prisoners. I am happy you admitted that Jonathan is clueless at least that one is not in doubt.

Purefoy may be unbiased but this analysis is skewed. He should remember that in Politics, especially Nigerias', money talks. Buhari isn't one to offer money to delegates, that's not to say it wasn't offered on his behalf by others. Some delegates are bound because of what they've been paid and in my opinion, 60% will do just fine from the primaries. He needs a solid running mate to give PDP a good run as this is the closest we're going to get to uprooting GEJs reign of daftness and bloodshed.
