When the old corrupt leaders exit the political arena, either voluntarily or by force.
why will they go when there is nobody to fill the vacuum which will be left.

Young ones are busy flying abroad to obtain masters degrees that we don't need in nigeria. The freshiest and best of our young leaders are abroad criticizing the government on web media.

Because the system favours the old politicians. To become even a local government councillor you need a God father. Since he put you there, he dictates what you should or should not do. The system needs an overhaul.

Maybe he is not 75yrs but he is still mates with all those who rule years ago. People like Shagari, Obasanjo etc are his peers, only in Africa or the Arab world do you have this sit tight people. Check Asia, Europe or America, no recycling of leaders there.

Scroll up, read my post and answer my question.

Until every single nigerian youth get actively involved in politics ,we will keep having recycled old politicians. By getting actively involved I don't mean by staying 24hrs on nairaland insulting politicians ,I mean by joining political parties and demanding answers from leaders

There are people to fill the vacuum, there's just no vacuum to be filled by up and coming politicians.

I understand u bro, most people that stay on nl insulting buhari and gej don't even know the name of the local goverment area where they reside talkless of knowing the name of the lg chairman.are those the kind of people that will now demand to know how much their local govt is collecting monthly not to talk of demanding how it is spent. Intelligent, brilliant and responsible people have neglected politics and abandoned it to thugs ,rouges, murderers and drug pushers so what type of governance are we expecting. if you want a change in nigeria ,you can start and spearhead that change. Gani fawehinmi was a man like u and me but he decided to effect a change in the system and he made a mark for himself. It is time for nigerian youths to take active part in nigerian politics

Buhari is BH.

BH is Buhari...

In Buhari's voice, the fight against boko haram is against the north and tantamount to genocide.

Now, I don't know who is soaking the dogs and baboons in blood.

madness is when a 75 years old malam who truncated a Democratic government will come back to tell us that he is the Messiah. Stupidity is when our SW brothers will be blinded by the personal interest of a man who has ruled for 8 years, wife a Senator, son in law, in the house of reps and presented a house boy senior advocate of Nigeria instead of tested kayode fayemi. Jonathan might not be perfect, we will surely defend him from the gambaris. the day of reckoning is here
Dunno if he called himself messiah or whatever, but he does seems a good option if not a better one among the candidates on ground. GEJ has been there for about six years, so the recycled argument hits him more. We need competence not emotionalism and calumny. Why would anyone gamble Fayemi who could not win his own local government and state of origin even as incumbent? Fayemi will do well as an appointed minister if the time comes. Playing up the tribal, religious and superstitious card will not help our country.

What is so old cargo about him that is made up for in the present government? What new cargo is the current administration giving us that you think Buhari is too old to give? Please be objective. Both the military and democratic governments have destroyed this country. They both have blame and play a part. I'm of the opinion that the tangent of the country needs a change, whoever brings that change. The unfortunate thing is that the present government seems blinded to that change and want things to continue as it is. To me, that is unacceptable.

my dear. the truth about fayemi 's loss will still surface, as for buhari being the better option at 75 is the recycling will not stop any time soon. was he the only the only one that contested the primary. tambuwal would have been a better alternative. as for GEJ, he has spent six years yes. and has relatively done well except you belong to the supporters of APC, he is seeking his constitutional enabled 2nd tenure, he has been tested, young and will surely prevail and deliver the dividends of democracy

The last thing we need is calumny and a campaign built in lies and smearing and distorting other people's image. The current government have done nothing concrete about boko haram except for unfounded allegations. They have shown little or no care to the wanton loss of lives. I'm yet to see the president do more than the president of Sri Lanka concerning boko haram. Of course everybody condemns boko haram, please do more than condemn on Twitter through Abati. The current president lives largely in denial and considers boko haram actions as just excesses happening in the fringes. He's not just the president of Abuja or Bayelsa, he should do more and stop finger pointing and playing opposition party politics. Arrest Buhari already if he's the one responsible for boko haram. As far as i know, not one attack has been carried out in Otuoke or Bayelsa or involving the people in power. Instead, the current government has made a lot of money from this crisis. God will definitely judge, but it will be a shame if we do not use the talent, power and opportunities God has given us to better our country. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin remains our reproach in this country.

Why do i have to belong to APC if I'm not satisfied with what the current government has done? Do we all have to be politicians to vote or see or assess? If i see option A-E, I'm old enough to decide which is a good option or better option of the five. I don't have to be a party member or tribal person to choose. Pastors Adeboye and Kumuyi are older than Buhari and still good leaders in my opinion, so let's not play the age card. Buhari won his primaries while Tanbuwal stepped down. He is exercising his constitutional enabled right to vote and be voted for.
What exactly are dividends of democracy? To tell me infrastructure, because we know that the military gave us better infrastructure in short time. The airports, federal universities, refineries, and many long roads and bridges were built by the military.

Are you talking/typing in your sleep? Your post is very abstract, uniformed and full of imagination. anyway let me give you some fact to Digest.
1. Buhari is a fanatic with desires to foist islam on all Nigeria (HIS PERSONALLY VOICED THE WISH FOR SHARIA ON ALL OF NIGERIA. FIND PIC OF STATMENT BELOW)

2.Buhari said Declaring war on BH is declaring war on Northern Nigeria just as muslim Northern elder statesman shettima ali mongunu said BOKO HARAM are our children GEJ must treat them with love. Serving Muslim Northern police commissioner ZAKARI BIU escorted an apprehended BH kingpin responsible for the death of 50 Christian worshipers (RIP) inccluding women and children Kabiru Sokoto out of of police custody to freedom serving Senator NDUME and senator BAMA are proven sponsors of Bokoharam, Kaduna State House of Reps member and youth leader of APC Hussein DEI DEI is exposed as sponsor of BH.
Many northern Muslim leaders and elites are sponsors of BH, only when they are caught do we get to know their identities so you see that the situation is not a random insurgence scenario but an organized calculated engine of destabilization and distraction against Govt. these people sponsor hide and shelter their children, brothers, sisters and friends who are active bh field agents so how will you an outsider single out a BH when they are all bh at heart cos they dont want GEJ immediately he won the 2011 elections you know what happened.
USE KADUNA STATE AS A CASE STUDY, WHEN PATRICK YAKOWA (CHRISTIAN) WAS THE GOVERNOR, THERE WHERE BOKO HARAM BOMBINGS EVERY WEEK BUT WHEN THEY TOOK HIS LIFE AND A MUSLIM IS NOW THE GOVERNOR KADUNA STATE HAS BECOME VERY PEACEFUL(BOMBING HAVE STOPPED) use your head (dont be a mumu. place blame where it is supposed to be)
They cannot cross to the Christian south cos they will be like fish out of water & conspicuously different.

I bet you where one of the people shouting all the nonsense when Azazi RIP was NSA but Now that Dasuki is in that office you have forgotten about it.

IF to better our country entails voting in terrorist or giving to intimidation then you must be MAD in the head

You're getting needlessly emotional, please be objective and pass your points maturely. Buhari isn't a fanatic, neither can he foist Islam on Nigeria. He had that opportunity as a military man with a fellow muslim deputy Idiagbon. This is a democracy and that would be much harder.
I have heard GEJ call his cabinet members boko haram and given excuse that they are his brothers and how he needs to be careful in attacking them. What is GEJ waiting for if he knows the proven sponsors of boko haram? What about Sherif Modu that was indicted? What do all these have to do with the calumny on Buhari? Is it a crime to be a Northerners and not be pdp?

To even suggest that the military is better is completely wrong. The military era put Nigeria in the situation it is today.

let me give you one more fact:
BUHARI IS THE PRESIDENT GENERAL OF MIYATTI Allah WEST AFRICA (THE FULANI COMMUNITY). And as we know this group of people have been shedding innocent blood and causing mayhem everywhere in this country(cos somebody is arming them).
