Issues Can Effect time of Transportation

Auction Vehicles: If the vehicle is purchased from an auction the selling party has up to 30 days to turn in the title/ownership for the vehicle. This can cause significant delays for the shipping process as the vehicle will not be picked up until the title/ownership is present. Please ask an Auction Export representative if the vehicle title/ownership is present prior to purchase to avoid this delay.

Overground Delivery duration: Certain areas of the U.S.A. have a seasonal or yearly low traffic volume increasing the amount of time elapsed between vehicle purchase and delivery to the warehouse or port. States with low traffic volume include, but are not limited to, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Delays can also occur due to bad weather conditions in the winter months. Please note that other potential delays can occur from truck breakdowns which are rare but unavoidable.

Snowbird Effect: During the pre-winter months of October and December many retirees move their cars and furniture to Florida to spend the winter in a warmer climate. This limits the amount of empty trucks moving South along the Eastern shore of the U.S.A. To ports in Georgia and Florida causing the potential delays for vehicle delivery to ports and warehouses. This trend is reversed in the pre-summer months.

Port Delays: Please be aware that delays can sometimes occur during the winter months when the ports are closed or there is lack of available containers due to bad weather conditions.
Please note, NJ customs are overburdened due to very high volume, and delays with documentation are not uncommon. When shipping RORO there may be delays due to the large volume the shipping line is experiencing, in this case, the vehicle will be loaded onto the next vessel with available cargo space.

Only successful export of cars from North America with Auction Export

Many customers mistakenly believe that buying a car from US or North America independently would be cheaper for them, but certainly unreliable. And in many cases, perhaps you will even overpay.
If you buy your future car in the North American market – the seller will sell it at a retail price and unlikely will be honest with you, some may even charge a sales tax. We have already mentioned that AuctionExport cooperates with many of the best, reliable and trustworthy auto auctions in the world, insurance companies, banks and car dealers. Therefore, we can not just buy a car for you at a wholesale price, and at the most reasonable price for you. Thus we’ll insure you against fraud and unfair attitudes and inadequate price.

The roro service Mostly known as the roll-on/roll-off shipping method, this service is highly used mainly for its simplicity and fast handling operation.

How it works: All type of wheeled cargo such as automobiles, trucks; trailers, etc are driven on and off the ship. These ships are designed to load this type of self-propelled, towable or forklift cargo.

RORO: The majority of countries offer the regular RORO service, but some destinations offer: RORO towable and forklift service for an additional charge. Please note it does not include ocean insurance.

Shipping process guide.

At the start of the shipping process with Auction Export, a filled out release (consignee) form is required to be uploaded or emailed by the client. The consignee information which is provided in the release form will be submitted to the shipping line and the vehicle will be released at the destination port to the person whose information appears on the form.
We will upload a dock receipt to your profile. This temporary document signifies that the car has been booked to sail on a particular vessel. A car cannot enter a port without this document. Once delivered to the port, the information on the dock receipt (such as the vessel name, date of departure and date of arrival) are subject to change at the shipping line’s discretion. The actual loading time depends on how fast the car clears Customs, the congestion at the terminal, as well as other factors. The average time from arrival at the exit port to loading is around 3 weeks.

ACL Grimaldi is the shipping line we use most often for RORO transport to Nigeria. Their terminals can be found at all major US East Coast ports. Customs clearance at these ports can take anywhere from a few days to 1 month. After your vehicle has loaded, ACL Grimaldi notifies us of the vessel name and the estimated time of arrival to the destination. As soon as we have this confirmation, we will notify you by email and change the vehicle status in your profile.

Once the vessel sets sail from the US, ACL Grimaldi will issue the original bill of lading and send it to our office. If the title has been returned by US Customs, the title will be included along with the bill of lading. If not, the title will be sent at a later date. As soon as we receive the documents at our office, we will upload a copy of the original bill of lading to your profile and send the documents via DHL to the mailing address from your consignee form. If there is an outstanding balance on the vehicle, we will keep the documents in our office until the payment is made.

How Car's Condition Influences Shipping Method

RoRo and Container methods of ocean shipping are two different but very popular ways of vehicle transportation. With RO-RO, your car is driven on to a special RO-RO vessel, meaning that the car has to be in condition to move and without extensive visible damages.
Container consolidation means that your car will be loaded inside a container along with other customers' cars. This method of shipment is available to various destinations.
Shipping cost also depends on the current location of your vehicle, - how far it is located from the exit port.
You can get an approximate shipping cost in the Shipping Calculator which is provided on every vehicle's page. If you want to know the exact amount, please contact our Shipping department on shipping@auctionexport.com

Re: How to Ship your Car from North America to Nigeria! by Export1: 10:33pm On Jan 06, 2017
Transportation of a Vehicle Takes 4 Basic Steps.

Step 1. We will send one of our licensed drivers to pick up your car from Auction or Dealership and truck it to the exit port or to our warehouse at the exit port.
Step 2. The purchased car will clear US Customs; approximately it takes from one to two weeks for the customs service to verify and ready the documents for export.
Step 3. Your vehicle gets loaded inside its designed vessel, by RoRo or Container.
Step 4. Approximately one week before the car would reach the destination port, you receive the original documents so you can come to the port and proceed to customs.
