People should learn from others in this forum. What I do is to involve the buyer in the clearing process, they can bring their agent or I refer them to one. I do not include the clearing cost on the total amount. It is the most transparent way of dealing with buyers. Believe me, it gives peace of mind because you will never get into this type of mess. Refer to my post and you will see some cars advertised with the caption "BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEARING.

Sometimes because the clearing cost is not included, the price would sound too good to be true, but when you factors in to the cost of clearing that is when you will know the actual cost of the vehicle. However you still get a good deal

Arguing in circles. (1)When the law recognizes your business concern, it is expected and the onus is on you to keep it legitimate. (2) What is the core of it's business activity? Car sales. It is expected that it should not be dubious in the way it procures and disposses its wares. What affirmative "answer" do we still require?

Your post did not address any of the questions I raised.

1) How is the primary business illegitimate?

2) How is the business' procurement and disposals of its primary product dubious?

Hm. Selling a car is not, ipso facto, illegitimate; but using dubious means to sell questions the legitimacy of your business concern. Should Seun continue to associate with a business concern he can't vouch for?

FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES OF INSPIRED AUTOS(fake custom papers and tint permit)

I will like to call your attention to the fraudulent activities of INSPIRED AUTOS.
I preorederd a 2009 infiniti fx 35 from him in july 2014, car didn’t arrive until october, i didn’t complain, I assumed it to be one of the challenges involved in the car importation business. The agreed sum for the car was 4.8million naira, on arrival of the car, inspired told me i’ll pay him an extra 200k due to constraints he had with the clearing, i agreed because i wanted my car to be brought to me after the long wait, but i told him he’ll get the 200k at the end of the month.( car came with a fault with the key system which i offered to fix myself, finished wipers that put marks on the windshield and finished tyres).

I paid the balance of the car and also paid for registration, tint permit, servicing and delivery of the car to portharcourt.

After the car arrived, next day i set out on a journey to kogi state, i was accosted by police men at umuahia for using a fake tint permit which i even confirmed from other people in the police force.( the tint permit has a stamp on it, meanwhile tint permits from the beginning of 2014 do not have stamps, it was just an edited permit). After much struggle, i settled and moved on, i called inspired and he denied any knowledge of such occurrence, after which he agreed to redo the tint permit.

On my way back to ph, i was accosted again close to benin by men of the nigerian customs service, they told me to wait, that they doubted the authenticity of my custom papers, so they sent details of the papers to their office in lagos for confirmation. Lagos confirmed the papers were fake and that the car should be impounded. I called inspired once again, who tried to get in touch with his friends in customs. i spent 5 hours with those guys. when inspired finally got through to their boss, he now called me to pay them 50 thousand naira which i objected to, i asked him if he thought i was an atm or something that will just vomitt 50k at will. after much struggle i gave the guys 20k, after which i had to lodge in a hotel and continue my journey the next day due to time wasted.

Once again inspired agreed to have those papers remade and sent to me, that was in october, uptill date, i have still not gotten those documents from him, he always says ahe'll send them the next day, he neither picks my calls nor returns them, neither does he reply messages.

I have lodged complaints with the Nigerian customs service and the Nigerian Police which i will further escalate if necessary and i have furnished them with his dealer number and contact details.

I can’t really comprehend why someone that makes so much money from this business still rips people off services that have already been paid for. Inspired is an immodest and greedy man that does not deserve the goodwill and patronage he gets from this forum and Nigeria as a whole.

I will be glad to provide further information if required.

Thanks your stars that he even brought the car in the first place. What if he did not? If ever you import your car through any importer, do yourself another check on the papers so as to avoid unnecessary embarrassment from law enforcement.

I agree that it does put a huge question mark on his business but I believe nairaland as a business would need more to severe any business dealings with Inspired autos.

If, for the sake of argument, inspiredm goes to jail would that affect the going concern of his business in any way? Is it not possible that someone else would help in running the business?

I believe seun should continue transacting legitimate business with inspired autos until it is found wanting by a competent authority.

Nigerians are intelligent people. Let us not use our intelligence in the negative direction. Everyday I come here to look at the reactions of Nairalanders and I must say am proud to be in the forum with you all except inspired except he apologises to Uzzie, give him original documents, and resolve not to go back to fraudulent ways of dealing with customers.

In other words, the present "villification" of Inspired is unwarranted. I hope you'd match up to your sense of magnanimity should you come to some experience of the kind that is the subject of this thread.
Oh no! I do not wish Inspired is jailed. What we are saying is that he should be avoided, at least for now.

Nairaland is no longer affiliated with Inspiredm. He was a volunteer who moderated our forum, and is an advertiser, but we know nothing about the allegations made against him. We're not involved in his car business and never were. We won't tolerate any slander against Nairaland.

To those who banned me,I only spake da truth ooo. I will not stop. People like inspired should be given lengthy bans and not the people protesting against his fraudulent activity.
Once again I LOL.

I haven't posted on NL for more than a year but Seun as forced me to comment..
Seun What has happened to our dear NL?
There are several questions you need to ansWer..
What is the connection btw you and Inspired that you will go to this length for him at the risk of tarnishing your name?
Why ban people (coldplay007, caveatemptor and co) that have spoken up against this guy's scam and the pathetic way you have tried to cover it up?

like coldplay007 said on that thread that unlocked this one, What is the hope of this country if democracy and freedom of speech can't be practised on a webSite/blog..

Guess what NLers, this thread has been hidden on the 2nd page of autos section, an attempt to hide the truth from getting out.. you can block this thread but you can't delete our memory...

P.S; you can ban me too, tyrant...

This is a sad note ppl we respect all come out to disappoint. You make upcoming dealers who preorder find it difficult to get cilent pls let's do what's right so has to make dis forum a beta place. Pls money is not easy to come by many ppl suffer to save to give them self the kind of car the dream of at the end u get the car and u start feeding trouble pls let's also put ourself in the other man's shoe and feel how it hurts. Mr inspired try and make amends where necessary. Hear the word of the Lord.

That explains why you are getting a number of things wrong...you have been away too long.

Olaposij:

Seun What has happened to our dear NL?

The answers to your questions are so obvious that any nairalander following this thread can easily address them, hence seun need not grace this with a response.

Olaposij:

What is the connection btw you and Inspired that you will go to this length for him at the risk of tarnishing your name?

Seun has made it very clear that nairaland has never been involved in the auto business of inspiredm and that the only connection between nairaland and inspiredm is that of him being a member of nairaland, like you and I, who happens to have volunteered to help out as a moderator.

It is my opinion that seun need not apologize for having inspiredm as a member nor as one of his former moderators. Seun swung into action the moment inspiredm confessed that he gave out false papers...the result? inspiredm is no longer a moderator.

Olaposij:

Why ban people (coldplay007, caveatemptor and co) that have spoken up against this guy's scam and the pathetic way you have tried to cover it up?

Some of them were banned for their excesses. I am sure they weren't the only once who spoke up against inspiredm. Not everyone who spoke up against inspiredm was banned. Those who were banned broke one rule or the other of nairaland.

Some members are calling for the ban of inspiredm but I think that is a stretch cause I don't think he has broken any nairaland rules unlike some of those banned.

Olaposij:

like coldplay007 said on that thread that unlocked this one, What is the hope of this country if democracy and freedom of speech can't be practised on a webSite/blog..

One's freedom ends at the point where it infringes on the rights of others. That's a very common rule of thumb. An abuse of the freedom of speech can actually land one in jail. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to insult or slander another. The person slandered or insulted has every right to defend himself.

Olaposij:

Guess what NLers, this thread has been hidden on the 2nd page of autos section, an attempt to hide the truth from getting out.. you can block this thread but you can't delete our memory...

If you had been active enough, you would know that a thread is as good as its updates. Apart from the threads stickied on the first page, others can easily fall to the second page if the frequency of updates from other threads are more.

PS: Posts like the bold are probably what lead to the ban of some of the members you spoke of.
Re: Funny Activities Of "Inspired Autos" (Fake Custom Papers And Tint Permit) by Caveatemptor(m): 7:11am On Jan 31, 2015
^^

This is funny. I did not break any rules, except to tell the truth. The fact that the original title of this thread has been amended to a comical one speaks volumes.
Those that hid my posts could open them and let the world see in what way I broke any rules.
This is not the first time Inspired has had issues with his customers on these boards, infact I could dig up at least three threads which reflect his activities.
p
There was a brilliant contributor to this thread called the madame, who pointed out ways buyers could avoid dud customs papers. Jher contribution in my opinion was brilliant, alas she was banned as well. How can the authorities explain that?
