Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, yesterday made history with the inauguration of the first cable bridge to link Lekki and Ikoyi axis of the state, giving special tribute to the late President, Alhaji Umar Yar’Adua, over his role in the execution of the project.

Fashola said two Federal Government buildings were affected by the construction of the bridge which the late President ceded to the state government to ensure a speedy execution of the project.
He quoted the late President as saying: “Our party differences cannot stand in the way of our people.”

I don't think this light rail project started 2006. Because as at 2008, I was a student of FGC Ijanikin LAG and Mile 2 was just Mile 2. There hadn't started any road expansion then. So this project started at a later year but not 2006.
