Don't know why these card readers were not ready to be atleast used/tested during the Anambra/Ekiti/Osun elections. It would have afforded us the time to assess these cards before being deployed for a presidential election.

We have a problem with data in this country! If everyone had his/her data in a central system then verification and authentication would be smooth.

Once you go to the U S embassy and your data is collected it is stored there and anytime you come back your info must tally with the former one or you are done. Imagine someone having 2 diff dates of birth with the same pix when he is not a twin which can be distinguished with finger prints.

Everyone is collecting data, BVN, National Id cards, Drivers license, Int'l Passport etc some people have different ages in these items.

this is commendable, it 'll realy reduce the rate of rigging bt the only place any party can manipulate now is by paying evryone tht comes to vote e.g N10,000 each to vote their party apart from that i dnt tink their 'll much rigging this time around.

A question is , if the card reader can be replaced, does it mean that anybody can now vote wherever he is? What do they do to transfer the data from the faulty one to the other?

To the best of my understanding, this Prof made it cleared that one can only vote at one's polling unit. The register of that unit would have been uploaded on the card reader meant for that unit. If a replacement is to be made, it will still contain the register of the polling unit. And mind you, the card reader is just for accreditation purpose only. It is only when you have been duly accredited that you can now come back to vote.

Why is it impossible to upload the whole register into all the card readers? Is it rocket science? Increasing the memory would have taken care of that. JEGA knew that but they want disenfranchise some People

You don't get it. No register is uploaded on the card reader.
It is only configured to give access to a particular card's dedicated unit.
Take for instance the cards used in unlocking doors to hotel room. Is it appropriate for the card of room 101 to open room 105?

Fine, does not make much difference. Room service guys make use of master keys to open all the rooms. That means that card reader can be made to recorganise all the PVC cards irrespctive of the registeration unit
