Op,you are getting it wrong..

Success isn't 100% dependent to course studied at the tertiary institution..

Its about God's grace, attitude, altitude to life.

God maketh riches, man is just striving..

Its more of positive thinking and creativity.
I believe if one has both,he can make a living out of nothing.

But Nigerian's are not sentimental about things like that, it can only thrive in places like America.
True that. But it is important that we should be, it's our heritage. The best thing one can do with a certificate in archaeology in Nigeria is lecturing and that is still not guaranteed. As far as I know, in Nigeria, only 3 universities teach the course (might be wrong).

Are you an archaeologist?

In my school, I have witnessed several instances where some big and new generational banks came in search of Students who just graduated with 2.1 in courses like Religious Studies and Islamic Studies, ahead of Accounting and Banking and Finance, reason being that they will have better character, attitude and the tendency to commit financial crimes is slim among such graduates. Every year these banks come applying for such graduates. They get them, give them brief trainig and assign specific roles to them. Serious!

Archaeologists study past cultures by examining artifacts, objects made, used, or changed by humans. Have you ever found a penny on the ground? That is an artifact that was lost by someone. Years from now, that penny could be found by an archaeologist.

How that one fit put food for your belle for 9ja?

I disagree with ur thread. Ur sucex in life is not dependent on ur discipline. Most of the courses listed such as philosophy n religious studies are really what d society needs for beta administration in all wise n for a solid ethical background. As one who is about to finish my studies in philosophy n religion I make boast to say I can fit into any firm, company or administrative unit. N as a student of philosophy I cn further my studies in any field. So I blv ur sucex is dependent on wat u mke of ur discipline n hw u understand it. N we need to strt changing our mindset towards some courses. It is ds attitude ur portraying dat mks u n mst ppl look dwn on des valuable courses. Ask a student of law to face me n I wish rubbish dat person wit my knowledge of philosophy n religion

Although the OP is entitled to his opinion on these subjects, his assessment of their marketability or relevance is grossly misleading and uninformed.

The OP must have based his assertions on his narrow and limited knowledge and experience rather than on a proper and adequate investigation into the marketability/viability/profitability/relevance of the courses he mentioned.

I honestly wonder how this misleading post managed to get to the PF (no disrespect to the OP); the mods need to be more diligent.
