1. Communication: most of the couples nowadays don't talk to each other as they are suppose to do. they refuse to communicate with one another.
2. Trust: most of the couples does not trust one another.
3. Courtship after marriage: the way couple lives after their wedding change, because they don't continue the courtship after their wedding.
4. Endurance: most of people nowadays can't endure anything and it's affecting our lives negatively.

Marriage is a means to an end, and not an end in itself. Most people enter into marriages for the short haul and thus plans/goals/preparations are in this light.
Seriously those aren't marriages but hambuger unions.before one get married ask yourself can I tolerate this person for life etc

In a nutshell OP marriages isn't what fails but the people that think they are into it, but in something else completely strange and different.

Lack of trust in the marriage

Lack of communication in the marriage

Lack of respect for one another

Refusing to leave your family to become one with your spouse thereby opening the door to interference from other parties.

Lots of opinions here. What we now have is reverse - education. Women now know too much. And you know what they say about people who "know" too much!

You can't even advise these bunch anymore. They all have ready made answers to everything. Humility is no more and talking too much is now seen as boldness and independent.

Put a little money in any ladies hand, she'll instantly become a control freak. They no longer follow the teachings of the Bible and would rather copy and paste western ideas to their brains.

Their relationship with water and soap is becoming more expensive, hence their aggressiveness.


Women now wants to dominate and do the talking in a relationship. These things kills relationship and marriage fast than boko haram.

If you wanna stay longer than the five years margin in your marriage, the logic is just simple.... feed me, fuvk me abd shut the fuvk up.

Men wants food, seex and silence. Learn these things and y'all be aiit.

If u desire a successful home, but ur choice of friends are forces not to reckon with, think again. Be very mindful of where you go for advices, Many would give, but not many mean well! The first marriage has become a mere coming of age ceremony for ladies. It is done to please parents and respond to social pressure. Nobody cares if the marriage lasts, all they want is to come and eat rice.

She was the 2nd wife

According to my mum, he married her because the first wife was mean

It did but then sometimes she had to travel Oyo on foot to buy her goods

My People let us stop blameing one another. The problem is not the Male or the female folk, evident on the kind of cases we have witnessed on Nairaland lately. The problem is that in the last days knowledge will increase and the activites of the devil will be so high. So who ever listened to him at that point in time becomes vulnerable. Remember all the point listed are his deposits, feeding u gradually overtime only waiting to crystallize. Like the woman who threw her husband from the window because of money.

its not a gender thing, the husband would have thrown the wife also. Remember its both of them that the devil has been feeding. The aim is death, activities that guides our do and donts now needs to be balanced by moderation and patience. Like the incidence that happened in the UK that a russian teenage girl and a mexican teenage boy whose father was a rich politician met at a party for the first time and they where romancing themselve at the balcony before they both fell down and died.

Let us stop blameing and start loving. Lets guide all our actions with fairness, equity, justice and fair play. Above all love your neighbour as yourself. With this two the world will be a better place for we all.

Can two walk together unless they agree? I think it is more about communication and appreciation. Maybe if women reference (are humble and obedient) to men that do the dirty jobs at home, maybe chores that look unmanly can even be a source of fun to the man, fun which he will live to relish for ages.

Why is the case of divorce and separation so high these days. And if it is not divorce or separation, you read on Nairaland every day how one wife burnt the husband or cut off his manhood, or how a husband beat his wife to death.

Why is this so rampant these days?

Marrying for the wrong reasons.

Top much expectations.

Pride and foolishness, especially from the male folks.

Intolerance and impatience from both camps. .

Men expecting their wives to be robot and without brains.

Third party interference. .....

Lack of steady communication; communication is the live wire of every home. You don't pray, you become spiritually weak. You don't communicate with your spouse; you may fall apart.

Failure of leadership from the husband.

Lack of wisdom from both parties.

6 years and still waxing on....no be by my power...

personally I was shocked to see such comin from a lady, it shows lack of home training and illiteracy. How can a sane person use such word on a forum like this knowin fully well there are intellectuals here and cos of her rare privilege of havin access to the internet makes her feel she has the right to open her guts anyhow.
