Your relationship is fast heading for disaster. You can't ignore it. You and your partner just aren't getting along the way you used to. The days of compliments and loving glances have been replaced with silence and awkward embraces. You feel such a distance and it literally saddens you to your core. You don't want to lose the relationship or the person you love. You want to know how to fix a relationship that is close to falling apart so you can move forward happily with your partner. Understanding how to rebuild the bond between you two can completely transform your relationship for the better.

Learning how to fix a relationship that is struggling involves being honest with your role in what has gone wrong. It's human nature to try and protect ourselves. That's why we're more prone to point the finger of blame at our loved one when things aren't going well. We say it's our partner's fault for not paying us as much attention or they have failed to invest themselves as much in the relationship as we have. Although that may be true, you also probably have made some mistakes along the way and those mistakes have impacted your relationship. Own up to those errors starting now. If you do that you can then make some positive and much needed changes.

It's easy to avoid conversations about the problems in a relationship because those types of discussions almost always lead to conflict. You can't hide your head in the sand anymore though. This is your future happiness at stake so you need to face it head on and with total honesty. Ask your partner to talk with you about what's going on. Be direct about what you feel the problems are and your own remedies for changing your behavior. Listen to what they suggest as ways to fix the problems they view in the relationship. By absorbing what each other has to say you can then move forward with a focused goal in mind of mending the broken relationship.

As you two are working towards moving past your issues don't allow any negativity in the relationship. If you continue to quarrel or make criticisms of one another it will only serve to damage your bond in the long run. Respect your partner and everything they bring to the relationship and you two will be well on your way to rediscovering why you chose to be together in the first place.

Your words and actions in the days and weeks following a break up can impact any chance you have of ever getting back together with your ex. One wrong move or word can cost you any chance of happiness with the person you love the most.
