The peanut butter u guys buy there is filled with cholesterol and bad fat cos of processing.
If u can, do ur own our local way(though not as sweet as that una own)
One off my late FIL's undoing.
His nutritionist strictly warned him not to near peanut butter but instead,pick a handful of fried ground nut and munch. The man stubborn die.

But u can cheat small with it.its allowed but addictive. cheesy

If u can get ukazi there, I suggest u constantly use it to make soup(afang soup).
It mops up sugar like no man,s biz inn the system.
Get utazi and wash small(a handful) and use for yam porrige. The utazi(funny enough) will turn to sweet taste. Good for detoxification.

If u can see eggplant leave,chew that raw. U r good to go.


Good exercise and the right food does it.

I used to love having that + white sugar on my Quaker Oats, Akamu, Coffee, and Tea...You have no idea how many sinful delights I've given up just to stay healthy...

I'm more interested in people who lose too much too soon and then end up putting it back on again. Like the guy in this video for example. He lost over 450 lbs on an extreme weight loss program but he put it all back on and more. Now he weighs more than 650lbs!

Hmmm Efe you too? ok so I have hope, even at my worst 'sinning' days I DID NOT do condensed milk in food, only sipped it as a kid grin

These days? only with lots of semi skimmed milk and the pap has to be the bit sour variant.

Before I put lots of white sugar and a squeeze of lemon or lime for a nice tangy flavour

My big goal now is trying to wean my household off white sugar so they dont have to face the struggles I have had to fight. It is made worse since nobody is really overweight (at least by Nigerian standard)but we all know sugar is nobody's friend.

Do u know I use akamu a lot if I wanna lose weight?
Akamu and beans combo. I will end up drinking more akamu and eating less beans.
No sugar.
At times I use akamu and groundnut.
Three times a week but u will be so light.
As if breeze will blow u away.
And it makes one drink water too much.
It's one of my secrets o.

Think about it, the soup...at least reduce it. You only need less than one-third of that amount. The oatmeal, half should do. But come oh! Where're the massive chunks of meat? So you too dey snap incomplete pinschur like Edwife and Chillisauce? cheesy cheesy tongue tongue

Egusi is nuts and it's very healthy. The only thing here is to reduce the palm oil.

Try boiling your protein with tomato puree. It changes the color to red . Then top with 2 table spoon of palm oil to retain the taste.

You can also reduce your quantity of egusi by blending steamed broccoli. Helps in thickening wink

I did one and it tasted great. But I added uziza leaf for the scent and plenty pepper for the slight change in taste cheesy

Thank you chillisauce. I will try incorporating that in the recipe.

I was just stressed. Too much to do. angry

*Sigh* i thought i was the only one addicted to sugar, although its been a while since i stopped taking white sugar.

It's a real struggle.
