If you want to stop being a flirt, first you must start being honest with what you tell yourself about yourself. You flirt because inside you don't like yourself very much, and therefore you need the approval of others, which is what many get from flirting.

Now if you want to stop being a flirt, like I said first you must start being honest with what you tell yourself about yourself. You should open up to that scary groundless sense of insecurity. Face it, don't be washed away by it or play self-pity games, don't try to convert it into self-justifying fabrications.

Basically, people flirt not because they're interested in having a relationship with the person(s) they are flirting with but rather to grease their egos and build up self confidence as some are dealing with esteem issues. While many are doing so for self approval by others.

Do you need others approval to be your true self? When you're able to be confident about your inner self, not what others suggest of you, then you're on the right path to curbing your esteem issues and stopping unnecessary flirting.
