A futile effort by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to compel all Owerri zonal governorship candidates to step down for Emeka Ihedioha has ended on a fracas and fiasco between the PDP and Apga candidates.

The meeting which was summoned by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to interface with all the gubernatorial candidates of Owerri zone in his Orji resident Owerri, couldn't achieve anything meaningful while it lasted....Chief Iwuanyanwu had on the course of the meeting pleaded with Iheanacho and other gubernatorial candidates to step down for Ihedioha in order for the zone to make a headway in the upcoming governorship election.......

But when it became very obvious to Capt Emmanuel Iheanacho that Iwuanyanwu was unrepentantly clamouring for Ihedioha, he raised a point of order, reminding everyone in the meeting that in age wise he's the most senior and most qualified for the job hence others should step down for him.

Dissatisfied with Iheanacho, Emeka Ihedioha started shouting him down in coarse manner that ended the meeting prematurely as both men started hauling insults on each other.

Moment after that meeting, another brouhaha cum fracas insured as some thugs loyal to Ihedioha went to Orji town primary school where Apga members was set to have their meeting and started tearing all Iheanacho,s posters into shred on the hinged that he has stepped down for Ihedioha..... But in a swift reaction and reprisal, more surging thugs loyal to Capt Iheanacho stormed the venue and unleashed mayhem on the PDP thugs who couldn't withstand their firepowers as they all took to their heels and ran away in order to safeguard their lives.

Lol! Owerri zone is highly divided as Mbaise, Mbaitoli, Owerri and Ngor- Okpala all emphasize their ethnic differences. Owerri and Ngor-Okpala are united while Mbaitoli and Ikeduru are united, The 3 Mbaise are equally united. The Mbaike area produced Enwerem while Mbaise and Owerri are yet to produce Governor.

In Orlu zone we have more diversity but yet more united with the exception of Ohaji/Egbema who are kind of lilliputians in Orlu zone politics.

Owelle Rochas Okorocha governed like he is from Owerri zone.

Even if one stepped down for the other, Okorocha shall still win.

Last year, Iwuanyanwu asked President Jonathan for the federal government to establish another university in Owerri and convert FMC to a University Teaching Hospital in Owerri, despite the fact that IMSUTH Orlu is yet to be completed;
despite that all five universities and polytechnics in Imo state are around Iwuanyanwu's Owerri.

Iheanacho is playing a spoiler game, he knows very well that he can't even win owerri senatorial zone not to mention the whole state.
Owerri people should that one good turn deserve another. If they spoil Mbaise's opportunity to produce a governor, they should know that there is always tomorrow.
