In other news, the real answer is DOWN. How do i know this? Simple! LOOK AT THE CAT'S TAIL. The cat's tail can never be so positioned if the cat was going up. If a cat is running down a stairs, its tail will definitely be UP.

Look at the paw with relation to the slabs... Its going up

Depends on where the photo was taken from.. However, it has been to us what relativity is by Mr Albert Einstein!

From the arching of the cat's back, it's coming down. If it was going up, it will be stretching not arching it's back.

Also, the design of the edges of the steps indicate the photo was captured from the bottom.

The cat is definitely going up, just look at the eyes of the cat, where is it facing? Up or down?

the cat is coming down. The nosing of a stair is the protrution of the horizontal step (thread). That nosing shoots out horizontally from every step. If you look at the nosing in the picture, you will see from the direction of the shoot out of the nosing that the person that snapped the picture was positioned close to the bottom of the stair and the cat was approaching him/her. So the cat is coming down. Confirmed!

Dat cat is definitely. Going down. If u take a close look at the surroundings u will notice that from the P.O.V u can c the cliff of each step. And no builder would build stairs with cliffs on top of the steps (unless he want pple to trip and rupture their spleen). So since the P.O.V enable us seeing those cliffs. I conclude that the person holding the camera is down the stairs and the cat is coming to meet him . There is nothing like perception here the answer is clearly defined. (study the photo wella)
