I honestly will not dump mtn & dstv unless we have another company (local or otherwise) matching there quality. Have u tried using glo data b4?

Op, your post is highly misleading, Startimes have in fact increased their subscription rates. This is from their website:
By May 1, we will launch new interesting channels and will update the existing bouquets with these channels. They are AMC Series, Iroko Play, Iroko Plus and ST Zone. AMC movies and Wap TV will then move to Basic bouquet; Classic bouquet will have Iroko Play and AMC series, Iroko Plus will also be introduced into Unique bouquet while other new channels will be available on all bouquets. While, the new bouquet price will be N1200 for Basic, N2400 for Classic and N3600 for Unique bouquet, which will be effective from April 18
The Subscription that was reduced is that of Starsat (I'm guessing due to low patronage):
We would also like to introduce Startimes satellite TV to you, which has 100+ channels with HD decoder and more local contents. We also have a Nova bouquet on Startimes satellite TV, which has 35+ channels and cost only N600, the Smart bouquet with 85+ channels will be reduced from N3000 to N1800, for Super bouquet you only need to pay N3600 to enjoy 117+ channels which is N4500 before. What an amazing reward?This adjustment will be effective from May 1.

Was at work this afternoon when I got this message from startimes..
This is to inform our esteem customers that another bouquet has been introduced on starsat called NOVA bouquet with 36 channels for N600 monthly,the N3000 subscription will now be N1,800 with 85 channels,4 new channels will be added,namely:
iroko play,iroko plus,movie world and Amc series,all will take effect from 1st of may 2015.

Sincerely speaking, I think startimes have really tried bring affordable pay tv to Nigerian homes. Besides sports I think thier channels and programs are top notch when compared to the price.
Mod pls assist move this to fp so others can benefit from this info.. I thought they are going to increase their subscription fee. the 1000 -1200 &2000- 2400 & 3000 - 3800. am not sure o.. |

Qsat can also be used for free to air I have a 4922 , 4669, 4663 and 4652 models, for my 1.8m , 90cm, and 60cm to get.... dstv bought epl right to support its reign in western and southern countries(that is filled with over 20countries if my geography is correct),just like beiN powers nothern and partly east,dat is how epl segment its payment,alotta people fails to understand dis,jusst becos nigeria has d highest rate of dstv users in west and southern part of africa doesnt mean dey hve to pay for what other countries still watch at a lower rate.dis is insane!!
Now anoda excuse dey use is exchange rate,the naira is gradually growing(not reducing check last 2mnths and now), and hopefully it will come to a time where it will be back to normal,bt oga dstv rate will always remain the same,it never depreciate.
For me as a student,cnt afford to pay such huge price just becos i want to watch ball,which is why i've been with startimes for 3yrs+,atleast i get to watch 1 bundesliga match,uefa and europa champions league and other national competition free of charge(even without paying a dime nta sport shows),of which multichoice cant even offer on gotv,dstv family pack,hell even the compact that is above 4k now.
Also did i mention startimes recently purchased rights to broadcast the fastest growing league in the world(GERMAN BUNDESLIGA),all matches from next season,dey stole d rights from d so called dstv,and we will still get to watch total action for less dan 3,800
its time we know what value of money is..
