Kaycee7:Supergirl has now moved to CW. I hope the writing of the show will improve in the second season though. |

TonySpike:Alryt. I'll put it on my list. If it's any good, I'll also watch the 1st season. I don't like starting a story at the middle. |

Kaycee7: Supergirl and superman, what's the difference? I don't know why but I don't always feel the urge to watch supergirl. Why? Her powers are the same with superman, and its still all about saving a city from aliens. If there's anything I missed out, kindly help out. Maybe that will be a good reason to watch her series |

I'm not the type that places emphasis on Box Office numbers. But since there are some people here that can die becoz of Box Office, let me just state for the record that Civil War is already 20m short of making 1 Billion. When i was telling some of u DC fanboys that "DC wont come close to Marvel in 2016" on the Arrow and Flash thread late last yr, y'all almost beheaded me Anyways, X-Men to finally do the needful and keep DC where it belongs. 2nd place!! |

AdeLaNa1:Marvel are the undisputed kings when it comes to box office, they know how to get their shit done.. All marvel characters are easily marketable, frm captain America to iron man, blackwidow, ant man, spiderman. etc... Spiderman and Black panther are now easily the most anticipated movie of 2017 &2018, chadwick boseman, lupita n'yongo, micheal jordan...fantastic cast... I cant wait for the black panther.. D.C really needs to get their shit together cos right now there's no competition between then.. Only D.C fanboys will object to this |

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 10:00am On May 22, 2016 |
Shittaakeem:CW has been released for a month now, my friend. It was released as early as April 27th in the international box office. By the way, I watched CW and I think the best parts of the movie are the fighting scenes. There are so many plotholes but yeah, it's Misney, critics love them. No hard feelings, that movie is far from being a masterpiece. |

Saw BVS and I must say that I was highly disappointed, it this is what DC could offer then they r way behind MCU. Now comes to CACW, this is what u call a blockbuster in 2wks its allready at d 1billion mark, that is d feat DC cant b able to surpass. As far am concern Marvel is way ahead of DC on this. |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by seribroo56(m): 3:35pm On May 22, 2016 |
kendrick9:calm down bro, it took MARVEL 7 to 8 films to get here, DC just have only two films and each did relatively well Mos ($665m) and bvs ($865m), for me I think bvs was a marketing strategy to introduce their universe properly which I think went well, at least 80 % of movie goer know about DCEU. 2 Likes |

seribroo56:i'm dissapointed by Bvs numbers tbh..i predicted that movie to cross $1billion instead it did 800...When Captain america in few weeks is doing a billion, thats the standard i'm talking about.. Lets be honest here, i love batman but apart from his character, there really isn't that much interesting characters who can carry a movie to a billion or close to. superman have tried but failed, character ain't interesting enough imo, a good script and director might help tho..Wonder woman might do 400m if lucky...And these are there three main characters, what else do they got... they need a change and that will start by replacing snyder as director |

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Nobody: 5:04pm On May 22, 2016 |
kendrick9:Lool. True. And this is just the early stages of MCU phase 3. Am afraid that when the MCU finally hits Infinity War, DC wont even be in sight anymore. The only thing DC can do to help themselves is to ensure Justice League makes sense coz if it doesn't, then that's the end. Game over!! |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 5:48pm On May 22, 2016 |
AdeLaNa1:The market is big enough for both Marvel and DC. No matter what phase Marvel gets to, they can't be on top of their game forever. The superhero genre is also becoming saturated and tiring, only that the demography being targeted are children and teenagers. There are still many ways for DC to distinguish itself and I have nothing to worry about. I believe BVS didn't fail its primary objective except that it was unusually scrutinised by the media and critics. This was a movie that had 100's of negative predictions several months before it premiered. It surprisingly was able to make $870 million in spite of the negative energies directed towards it. |

This is the trailer of the latest DC show, a comedy superhero show called POWERLESS. The show will run on NBC and will begin in about 3 months from now (not exactly sure). This is the official synopsis from wikipedia: "Powerless" is a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America β with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics. The show is about the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains" Here's is the trailer of this TV series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGC6x2mc_W8 The show looks promising though. What do you guys think? |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 12:16pm On May 23, 2016 |
Here's a fan theory about the arc from BVS: COULD DARKSEID BE ALREADY TARGETING SUPERMAN? It seems that Darkseid -- or at least somebody in his orbit -- is going to be the villain in Zack Snyder's Justice League movies. That's a given at this point, with all the hints we've had up to this point. And at the end of the movie, Lex Luthor tells Batman that something is coming -- the bell cannot be unrung, and all that. But here's my crazy conspiracy theory: could Darkseid have already made a first move? While it's easy to focus on Darkseid's connections to Superman, my idea has more to do with Batman. We've already seen and discussed at some length those creepy dreams in which Superman is a danger to those around him, apparently either under mind control or corrupted to the point where he wants to take over the world. That got me thinking about an early storyline in the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman books, in which John Byrne sent Superman to Apokolips as part of the Legends crossover event in which Glorious Godfrey, disguised as media mogul G. Gordon Godfrey, was waging an anti-superhero campaign in the media. (Not entirely unlike what Lex was trying to accomplish by turning the world against Superman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, I might add.) Shortly after Superman arrived on Apokolips, Gorfrey's sister Grace -- known as Amazing Grace -- played the part of one of the Lowlies, captured by Darkseid's troops. When Superman came out to save her, he ended up being hurled into the Apokoliptian firepits, which warped his mind. He briefly believed himself to be Darkseid's son, and went to work for the dictator. Eventually, Superman's memories and personality were restored by a Mother Box -- the same device seen in Cyborg's "origin story" in Batman V Superman -- and all of this feels suspiciously like something they might do once Superman is returned from the dead in Justice League Part One. Now we come to "this is a meaningless coincidence, unless it isn't" portion of the conversation. Amazing Grace is a distinctly human-looking character by comparison to most of Darkseid's minions. It allows her to subtlely infiltrate humankind if need be. ...And Bruce Wayne's personal assistant, seen when Bruce was watching news reports about Wallace Keefe. Of course, with Grace's ability to seduce and influence basically anybody she wants (hell -- she could even be that anonymous woman seen in bed with Bruce Wayne!), it might explain why Bruce was so deeply paranoid and why Luthor commented that it was easy to push him over the edge...! http://comicbook.com/dc/2016/05/22/batman-v-superman-speculation-could-darkseid-already-be-targetin/ |

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by moneyallowed(m): 6:25am On May 24, 2016 |

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 6:54am On May 24, 2016 |
moneyallowed: I agree with rapmike that the movie had no real stakes as such. I still think CACW is just an or.gy of street fights. The fights were cool though, but made you forget many plotholes of that movie. The movie is neither spectacular nor innovative, just another formulaic and forgettable production of Misney. We all know how it works: talk a little, then fight for sometime and then talk again, then fight. There are no parts of the movie that leave you challenged, and yet, no intellectual content to make you stimulated. |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by rapmike(m): 7:18am On May 24, 2016 |
moneyallowed: Dude I have watched the movie and seriously, the stakes aint really there.True, they won't be the same again( the point many of you are making) but for Pete's sake that was always expected. With what Winter Soldier achieved, one would have expected at least a serious death by now. After from the fact that War Machine was Iron Man's close paddy, nothing else makes him stick as a main character, yet he could not be killed off. Then seriously, Civil War? Why can't it be Civil misunderstanding? The airport fight scene looked cool but then the motives were lackluster at best , fighting because you wanted to act as the police for what? Please, Please and Please, if not for the amazing build-up to CW( the two avenger films and the likes), i really had no reason to feel something. I even though Bucky may force Captain to commit some serious crime to force the issue but they all fought because Bucky needed to be arrested and the Capt will have none of that. 1 Like |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 8:53am On May 24, 2016 |
rapmike: You have summarised the whole movie, my friend. CACW was all about Bucky, Bucky and Bucky again and all over again. Even the issue with the Sokovia accords (which should have been the main issue) became buried in the aftermath of the senseless brawls in the movie. The movie, in my opinion, had similar and unforgivable plotholes as BVS, but the action scenes totally masked these loopholes. I was a little bit disappointed with the movie and I am totally shocked that this is what many people want DC movies to be. Seriously, after watching CACW, I concluded that what people want from DC are as thus: 1. More action and combat scenes, even if they are senseless and not needed 2. More cheesy and one-line dialogues that bring some humour to child-like plotlines 3. More bright colours and joyous scenes like Disney cartoons 4. Unserious stories without stakes and deeper intellectual contexts |
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kaycee7(m): 9:10am On May 24, 2016 |
rapmike:In the comics, Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom. She conceived him from an affair with Azazel. Though I don't think they will acknowledge it in the movies. The timeline won't make sense. |
