I agree but I don't think the 'method' states that people need identify with one trait only. As a matter of fact (and as you rightly inferred), everyone exhibits all the traits at different times but one or more is dominant in each person, when viewed hollistically.

It would be fallacious to say that people necessarily must identify with only one trait but when it comes to stating the traits inherent in people, irrespective of the mix, I think they got it spot on; as it is not a misconception to say that everyone can identify with one or more of those traits.

Why?? Because they are socially inept. They only love what they specialise in doing. have you tried having a chit chat with a Nerd? All conversation with them are always in one way or the other linked back to what they love. Nerds will most likely be compared to geeks than introverts because its known that they're introverts.

NOTE: Not all introverts are nerds though. Nerds are highly intellectual people who work more with ideas, not all introvert have that ability, introverts are mainly very observant and possess super analytical skill due to their observing nature.

Melancholy:
Let not forget that we sometimes need to move out from that our comfy nut of our temperament if need be cos we might be doing to urselves a greater risk of not having a fulfilled life in all ramifications, I guess thats where the study of not having only one temperament comes to play.

An introvert exhibiting a sanguine, choleric or phlegmatic trait is highly dependent on the present surrounding.
Example: An introvert assumes sanguine nature whenever he/she is with a close friend, they tend to discuss more freely, even getting into argument with them without they them self knowing.

*Please I don't think there's anything like an introvert having to change to a sanguine, choleric or phlegmatic nature in other to have a fulfilled life. We all can live a fulfilled life no matter our temperament. The only difference is "OUR DIFINITION OF WHAT A FULFILLED LIFE IS". To a sanguine, his definition might 'hey! As far as I am able to make lot of friends, and go to many fUn parks, I've surely lived a fulfilled life'. To Melancholy, 'hey! As far as I get my privacy, Picture the world I want to live in and have it come to pass, I've surely lived a fulfilled life'. Phlegmatic ....., C0holeric .....
So having a fulfilled life is only dependent on your definition of what a fulfilled life is and your temperament and not the temperament you don't have and wish/need to acquire.

I prefer 2 b indoor watching movies,surfing d Internet or sleeping. I have few friends. Sm times I envy my friends dat ve lots of friends,always talking, going out n meeting new people. Gues dis is my life n dere is nuffin I can do abt it

Sincerely you should be happy. Have you asked yourself what you really need so much friends for? Because we as introverts see making friends as obstacle(except those we're acquainted to already). Have thought of what your friends with so many friends have that you don't have? Is it FUN? Our quite time is as fun to us as their fun time. Look, we should be the happier temperament because I only see them with more troubles to deal with, more disappointment to expect, more backlash from so called friends ETC.
And to your parent and sisters complaining, Its normal for them to do so, because we live in a world configured for the extroverts.

Yes, i had wanted 2 creat a thread on dis but now dat urs is here, i guess i hv 2 flow with it, i'm a phlegmel initially i tot i was a melphleg but i later discover some traits in me dat made beliv i'm d later.
people around me complain about my introvert attitude; parents, sibilings, friends, neighbours e.t.c But i hv come 2 reliaze dat these things are inborn and there is nothing anybody can do abt it. Though it made me an enermy 2 those who choose 2, cos i cant visit a berave relation or friend without d company of other friends or people, or maybe occasions, i dont go out 4 leisures during daytime, and i dont like unneccesary noise.. i dont talk much rather i listen more...boring? hahaha ur guess is as gud as mine!
