But why did he mention Wike's name when the minister in charge at the time this latest list was advertised( September 2014) and the exams taken and names released (March / April 2015) Wike was not the minister but a Northerner Shekarau. Why didn't he mention the Minister who was in charge from 2010 to September 2013 Ruqquyat Ahmed Ruffian under whom the project started and the guidelines were set. If he is not being clever by half he wouldn't mention the Southerner who was the acting minister from September 2013 to March 2014 and leave out the northerners who were in charge for longer periods.

By all means let the process be probed . The more transparent the better.No sincere person will quarrel with that.But let it not be scrapped when the probe reveals unwanted truths

This scheme has beeen running fr a few years now.It is no secret and is well known to all concerned .There are threads (NOT ONE) on Nairaland talking about application,tests etc going back to 2012. Is it until they come to your house before the process is "made known"? We had exactly this same palaver last year when results were released.What is annoying is that the Southerners in the house of Reps are silent

On what basis?

I refer you to an earlier post. The board should provide answers to the House Committee bordering on the allegations that the exercise is flawed.
1. The board cannot produce advertisement for the program.
2. They refuse to provide list of all applicants.
3. The list of board members that selected the beneficiaries cannot be provided.
4. No evidence of where the board members sat to deliberate on proceedings.

Is there any requirement in law to keep and retain a list of applicants. Does the NDA or police keep a list of applicants?
There was a shortlist of 600 candidates published widely. Those 600 took a test and only 102 were successful

Last year there was this same palaver from the same committee and every year they come up with a different set of demandss
In this case I believe that application was done online and there may be a list of applicants but there is no law mandating those organizations subject to Federal Character and with even greater public interest to keep a list of applicants e.g the Army ,police.immigration etc. If the House want to enact that as a law they know what to

It is not likely that the board will deliberate or should deliberate on this. Does the Army Council deliberate on recruitment. What is important is that there is a procedure,that records are kept and they can be scrutinized. That is the case. There is a VERY PUBLIC list of 600 shortlisted people. The criteria is they should have a first class degree in specific specialties and be under 30 years of age.

Now is there anyone who meets the criteria who has come forward to say they were not shortlisted to take the test . JUST ONE CASE What is at stake here is a very small number of slots for a very tiny population; First class graduates It is not that hard to find any person who was wrongfully overlooked. how many people have first class degrees and of that number how many are looking for scholarships.
