,tommorow is the d-day,am just a lil bit hopfull cuz all the documents am taking to the embassy are original and truthfull,nd secondly is because i am really going to the u.s to study and not to do otherwise,and thirdly is because i knw ALLAH is in control of all whatever am doin,so it is left to the embassy themselves to issue or not,but i hav fate in God that all will be well.@every1 just make sure u pray for all we nairaland members going for our interview 2maow.

@davidylan Are you encounragin him or dis? It seems you dont know that America Visa no bi only been inteligent, Gods Favor follows,

hmm and when did allah make such promises in his quran? Or is this more muslim co-opting of christian ideas they think sound good?he doesnt know oracle is NOT a programming language and that FORTRAN is too old!

the questions caught me on aware, she asked fast and i got lost on the way, i wasnt expecting such question at all ,asking someone going for undergraduate about programming languages, I can bet anyone, she did not denied me because of the programming or fortran stuff because this people dont know much about the questions the ask sometimes, but I know i did not make strong point toward Nigeria through out, For your information, I was too Over Confident because i believe she cant tackle me at all.if it is all about brilliant or inteligent i will get the visa, She saw my SAT 1 -1970 SAT 11-2019 ,toefl-99 and nord her head and view it again again, I think i wasnt Lucky that is the fact, In everything God favor is the best, Pray, but i cant give up, will go again and i will get it definately by the favor of God, is a lesson for me
@Adolite,Just wondering how you were able to achieve such a high score in SAT with such extensive flaws in mechanics,usage and grammar.The Vo's resent rudimentary vocabulary.

I think i got some tips for you bro ,the last time i check i think the VO asked you which area do you want to specialis,You said Information technology,Mind you information tech is not the 4 area of computer science,you got that wrong ,i also think the VO also do you a favour asking anoda question that on which area, is it programming or what, ,you answer=programming. you can't just answer programming alone,Below am going to list four area of computer science which you can atleast pick one out of the area and study it to your fullest,the VO are intelligent more than you are and you need to also show some shit you got up in your skull. I wish you goodluck in the next interview make sure you prepare 90% pray 10% because even if you don't pray god has already see your struggle,he will definitely see you through the remaining 10%, take care
Areas of computer science
--------------------------
theory of computation
algorithms and data structures
programming methodology and languages
computer elements and architecture.

LOL May the good Lord help this country called Nigeria & her people from hardship cos to me visa shouldn't be a thing someone will be fasting & praying for here to the extent that some will even use it as a testimony in their various churches ewwwww!, besides F1 visa applicants should be respected alot cos if this country is OK in the first place then studying in their country will just be an addition dat doesn't mean you'll necessarily go & die there by getting married to akata/oyinbo to get a greencard for a good living.

Sincerely, not every applicants here are going for studying but its poverty without good jobs "dey make man dey think how to make good living & money for himself in a fraudulent way".

God will make Nigeria a better place someday & strike our bad belle governments to death cos the way south african embassy are treating Nigerian applicants its beyond expectation eh!.

@tosinville,

Good talk about Nigeria and her people. About the prayer of a thing, though some don't pray or acknowledge God, still they succeed. I think it's neccessary you commit everything you do to God and prepare yourself because heaven helps those who help themselves. You know, different people with different doctrines.

bragging elements have found their way here again.

Whoever believes their academic capability got them their visa is a mofo!

If you are not favored you are doomed whether you be efiko [/i]or not. All these people talkin nonsense about how smart you have to be. You have not sat down with people who got F1s that is why you have that believe.

Have you ever heard the story that someone went for an F1 and the discussion with the VO was about his village cos the VO has a friend from there? That is what you call favor. Get this into your head, if you are not favored by GOD you are doomed!

Simplistic and empty. So everyone with a visa is "favored" and those denied were not "favored"? Threads like this are what opens your eyes to the burgeoning issue of emergency "christians" . . . spiritually empty individuals who find "God" when its visa time and ignore him the rest of their lives. If all of us here are genuinely this "Holy" then i wonder why the country is the way it is.

Going for an F1 visa with a poor command of the english language, harried preparations and no idea what program you are going for and YET its all "favor"? Yeah dude.

Go to websites of Universities offering Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, and look for courses in their curriculums. If you see "Oracle" as a main course, provide the link, and I would agree that I am wrong. If you do not, then you should apologize to me and admit to this forum that you said nonsense when you said I was totally wrong.

@aroy1: i think i should use elemetary terms; oracle is just like integrated science, home econs, social studies. these are subjects leant as foundations. thats what oracle is, being a foundation into studying database whatever!!! so u must learn how to use it first!!!!

Like I always say, little knowledge is dangerous. Know and be sure of what you are talking about. That is the only way you can succeed as a student.
Now:

1) You only study courses on database at Universities/Colleges. Individual institutions can elect to use a database software (of which Oracle is one) to exemplify the core concepts of what database is all about. There are many database software that an institution can use in the learning process, for example, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Sybas.

2) No, database is the foundation. You must study database before you can grasp Oracle. You putting it the other shows that you have no clue, knowledge, understanding of what you are talking about. You are arguing blindly. Saying that Oracle must be studied before database is exactly equal to you saying a toddler must be able to run before they can stand.

3) Oracle is just a popular tool (among many equally effective tools) to get a job done, database management. That does not mean it is the only tool. For this reason, Database Management is the course.

Wikipedia & educational institutions support my above argument, if you care to research. If you can not provide a link that support yours, admit that you are just arguing blindly and that you do not know what you are talking about.

FYI, I applied to only one school and so did many others on this thread that got their Visa. Just so you know, I have never advised anyone not to be prepared. I prepared wella! It took me 7 months to put everything together.

What I dont agree with is condemning people because they were not given Visas. I say again F1 is not just based on your brain. If they were concerned about that they wont just have you come there and interview for 4mins and give you Visa. I can never agree 4 mins is enough time to test one's ability.

why are you confusing yourself.

Now, i want to get ideas about database management,  and i have heard about ORACLE, would you not tell me what oracle is all about and what it can be used for?

we are talking abt ORACLE being something u need to know before you use it on what it is used for, instead you claimed that oracle is not to be learnt.

are you saying you will just meet oracle and start using oracle, without knowing how to use it.

For example, I cant use my teeth to unscrew a laptop, in other words, i would need a set of screw driver and look for the one to use among them!!!

the problem is many of us fail to consider that these VOs are themselves intelligent humans, that most of their questions are not just random nonsense but sometimes carefully targeted based on their initial impression of you. If you applied and were admitted to a top school like MIT then its very easy to get away with applying with just one school. Most people applying to top programs with full or substantial scholarships and who can confidently express themselves at the interview usually have no problems getting a visa.

Take a look at the level of grammar and how poorly some even understand the alleged major they intend to go for . . . then tell me why a VO should be compelled to issue a visa to them all on the basis of "favor". 4 mins may not be enough time to test one's "ability" depending on what you consider "ability". sometimes "ability isnt about how high you score on an exam but how fast and how well you can think logically on your feet. In this case, 4 mins is more than enough time.

@Davidylan,

Your argument is good but this dotman01 has nothing to do with the issue of favor or no favor. It would have been nice if you have given him the right and direct answer.

@dotman01,

Follow seedord advice. From the majority point of view, one school means you are not really serious about schooling. Even in Nigeria UTME now, you have to fill in 2 univ, 2 poly and 2 coll. So, think about that.
