Why is Christian faith superior to Islam? 1. Introduction Monotheism is the belief in the existence and activity of a single God [1]. Therefore Christian faith is the purest of all monotheistic religions [3]. Because Islam is a religion of contemplation, surrender and being rational acceptable, it is an esthetic religion. Christian faith is oriented to absolute moral values, like in Matthew 5, so higher than Islam. In Christian faith everything serves the purpose for the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven. 2. Truth The covenant of the People of Israel had failed. Therefore, Judaism, the first monotheistic religions called for an answer. The answer had to add improvements to overcome the crisis in the covenant or to make it more bearable. Islam added rational thinking and adapted to human capabilities. Christian faith added the love of God as an inspiring power. Nowhere is this inspiring power seen as clearly as in Christianity [4]. Both Islam and Christian faith continue from a norm which is uniquely rooted. So, the real decision between Islam and Christian faith can only come from revelations [5]. The real question is: what are the real revelations of God in history? This question cannot be answered with rational arguments, because rational thinking and facts are different categories. However people have always tried to combine them in a religion. And every religion has its ways to show that it is in a rational way reasonable. The arguments are only convincing for the believers of that religion. In Christian faith the thought to find the truth with methods is abandoned, because only the Holy Spirit can reveal the truth. Only God can make God known to us. The truth of the Christian faith cannot be explained with methods, but reveals itself to the hearer or reader in the proclamation and exposition of the contents of faith, because he becomes aware that this is the truth of God [6]. 3. Salvation The revelation about the truth of God is man’s true salvation. This description of revealed truth consists of the following three essential points: A.Sin. Christian faith supports the concept of sin. Every human being has shortcomings in absolute sense. Therefore suffering, pain and death entered human life. B.Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind. People need to be free from all suffering, pain and death. Therefore the believer needs to be set free from sin. The Savior of mankind, Jesus Christ provides forgiveness of sin by his ultimate and perfect sacrifice. C.The Holy Ghost. Christian faith supports the promise of the Holy Ghost. By making the decision to sacrifice the personal life to God and to trust the Savior Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, the believer will be equipped with the power of the Holy Ghost as seal of the faith. The believer becomes aware that this is the truth. 4. Conclusion Why should anyone trust in Christian faith over Islam? It is because the divine revelation of the absolute truth. Only in Christian faith are the fulfilled prophecies of a coming Savior of mankind, the ultimate precise eye-witness manuscripts: the Gospel. Therefore we can trust what is written in the Gospel. Only Christian faith has the Savior of mankind, who was tested like anyone, but passed all moral tests. Therefore only Jesus Christ has the right to say: “’I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6).
