Learnt there are are no overhead cable lines in countries overseas any longer. When will Nigeria follow suit? That will save a lot of lives. 1 Like |

Some questions need to be asked and answered by someone. Was he working on live line? Was he working alone? Did he have proper permit for the Job? Did he receive clear instructions from his supervisor for the Job? Was he working without proper personal protective equipment? |

Working under an 11KV without a permission for outage or what? This matter should be investigated. It is either negligence of safety procedure, carefree attitude of the dead or careless of the operators. |

This is absurd. Why isn't he wearing their protective gloves? What happened to whatever safety measure they employ? And why is he alone? These guys never turn up on their own when it's time to disconnect people Anyway, R.I.P |

I tend to have a different view to the headline caption. Recently( over the past few months),I have observed how well kitted and safe the staff of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company carry out their activities. The reason I mentioned the name of the company is because I presume the company's operations covers the area (Ikeja) where this sad incident occurred. I stay in Shomolu which is also under their network and have been rather impressed and surprised at how the staff have been conducting themselves lately when they come around to carry out repair works or disconnect defaulting customers. I am of the belief that the victim might not be a staff as I have once witnessed one of their field supervisors barking orders to his colleagues ensuring they carry out their task in a safe manner. This could simply be a clear case of a third party, vandal or even a contractor not following safety rules. 4 Likes |

may his soul rest in the bossom of the lord. this calls for sober reflection on safety measures and guidelines of PHCN in the area of field work by its staff. wont be surprised if the man went up there without any protective mechanism |
