lmaooo grin grin grin I trust Ekiti and Ondo on the ganja aspect.

The Africa culture is always looking down on igbo [ganja], however, it does have its health benefits.

We haven't seen the end of the saga, I'm glad Tinubu has intervened.

Since Audu kicked the bucket, his running mate should be the party's flagbearer.

Interesting movie. Still, I follow.

Legally, Faleke should be the new governor, but Tinubu is trying to play it smart by not giving an appearance of fraud.

My own is, since Okun people are indigenous Kogites, they have the right to govern the state.

Igalas can kick and scream from now till tomorrow, Faleke remains the flagbearer.

Yorubas in Kwara/SW, stand with Faleke. Egbiras, stand with Okun people so that you two can form a formidable union.

IFELEKE:

Beeni o...
An arrangement is presently being fine tuned to throw up Faleke as the candidate and Mohammed Audu as the running mate making it a win-win for the Igalas in general and the Audus in particular.

That is the only solution that makes sense and I suggested it last week on this thread

Any other solution would just create crisis and the decision would easily be overturned by the court

Faleke-Jnr Audu ticket now. Groom the junior Audu to get the seat later

Yes jor..... the money from that alone in a year can feed Ekiti for 2 years.

It indirectly brings development.

My only worry is the illegal consumption and distribution of ganja.

Yeah yeah... I did too last week.
Apparently, some forces aren't comfy with Faleke's emergence hence the declaration of the election inconclusive in the first place. A reliable source hinted that INEC was ordered to declare it so after it emerged that the senior audu had kicked the bucket while collation was on going.
Let's see how it goes...

I av been monitoring dis great thread for a while now without commenting. kudos to the people who created the thread.

has anyone noticed that a large majority of lawyers and learned legal practitioners in Nigeria are yoruba. A glance into all the election tribunal victories will corroborate this. Our learned legal practitioners have won even the almost impossible cases with their brilliance and intelligence.

rather than beating our chests, we yorubas have been able to excel in all endeavors and sectors. It beats my imagination why some Igbos will be comparing their relatively unpopular selves to the yorubas.

May God bless you richly and abundantly. I wanted to raise this point earlier. Virtually all the lawyers in the the ongoing election tribunal cases in various states are Yorubas, even in states that are outside Yorubaland. Did you know that the Chief Medical Director of Akwa-Ibom Specialist Hospital, that world class hospital former Governor Godswill Akpabio built, is a Yoruba man named Doctor Yemi Johnson

Have we decided on adding Kwara state to the commonwealth?

80% of Kwarans are Yoruba or of Yoruba descent.

I think we need to re-evaluate our decision to not discuss Kwara state. By not discussing Kwara state, we're acknowledging that it's no longer a Yoruba state.

Anyway, I have some news and pics of Kwara I'd like to post.

News Flash (Just in): Yoruba son is going for the throne - next future heavyweight boxing champion of the world. cool

Anthony Joshua adamant he could dethrone Tyson Fury immediately

Anthony Joshua insists if he stepped in with Tyson Fury right now, he would leave the ring a heavyweight world champion.

Fury (25-0-KO18) wowed the boxing world on Saturday night when he relieved Wladimir Klitschko of the WBA, WBO and IBF world titles in Dusseldorf and has already been called out by former WBA champion David Haye and current WBC holder Deontay Wilder since.

Joshua (14-0-KO14) has now officially added his name to the mix ahead of facing his bitter London rival Dillian Whyte live on Sky Sports Box Office on December 12.

"Every time I'm pulling up at a petrol station or checking social media, everyone's asking me when I'm going to fight Tyson Fury."- Anthony Joshua

The Olympic champion told Sky Sports: "Every time I'm pulling up at a petrol station or checking social media, everyone's asking me when I'm going to fight Tyson Fury. Before he became champion. People want it to happen and it will happen at some stage.

"December 12 is my focus. I've got to get that win. I believe I can beat anyone so, yeah, I can beat Tyson Fury. The good thing is I've got people who want me to progress. My coach believes in me.

"If the opportunity presented itself, we'd take the fight. It's only a fight at the end of the day - heavyweight champion or not. It's a square ring, one opponent and my job is to beat him, so of course I'm going in there with the same mentality."

While Joshua, 26, is confident he has what it takes to get the better of Fury, he credited the enigmatic Mancunian for his achievement in Germany.

Joshua said: "I watched it of course and that's something we haven't achieved in 10 years. He's heavyweight champion of the world, something that I'm destined to do myself. Credit to him.

"My gut instinct told me Klitschko because it's been routine for the last 10 years. I wasn't going to go against the house. Round six I thought Klitschko would do it but it came to the late rounds and I credited Fury for pulling it off.

"It's changed the division. The division is lit up. I just have to follow suit and wait for my chance so I can come through and dominate at some stage.

"At the same time, he's entertaining. He's got that Jerry Maguire story with Mick Hennessy and he's brought boxing back to Great Britain. You've got young guns like myself and Dillian Whyte who are going to cause mayhem."

“It’s interesting. Klitschko has the option of a rematch but Joshua revealed he would be keen to take on Fury if the opportunity arose in 2016. “I believe I can beat anyone, so I can beat Tyson Fury,” he added. “If the opportunity presents itself and it was the right opportunity, we would definitely take the fight.”

Despite public outcry, Ondo enforces residency card in health facilities

Despite stringent criticisms trailing the introduction of Residency Cards, popularly called Kaadi Igbe Ayo, the Ondo State Government on Wednesday instructed all heads of public hospitals and health centres in the state to enforce the use of the card in their various locations.

According to a statement issued by the Ondo State Commissioner of Information, Kayode Akinmade, the directive was handed down by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, at a meeting with some public health coordinators at the Mother and Child Hospital, Akure.

The statement quotes Adeyanju as saying that the residency card scheme was not aimed at making money from the people of the state, as being speculated but that it became necessary owing to the fact that those benefitting from the free medical services provided by the government were non-indigenes.

According to Adeyanju, residents of the state who have obtained the card, especially pregnant women and children from age one to five, now receive free medical services while those without the card would be made to pay stipends for the medical services rendered to them.

He said: “People must be made to see the need for the card. The residence card has become operational in all government facilities. The meeting with the public health coordinators becomes imperative so as to sensitise the head of facilities on the commencement of the card use. The Ondo State Government is not relenting in its efforts to providing free medical services to the people.

“What is operational at the moment in the state is that non-indigene who troop in for normal virginal delivery that people pay between N10,000 and N15,000 to do and Caesarean section are done freely, thus necessitating the influx of people into the state to access the services . Such people must be made to pay for services rendered.”

He therefore encouraged those who had registered for the card to visit their registration centres to collect them.

@ modath

I keep telling you that this residency idea is a great innovation...... in the long run.

All these migrants in the SW states will immediately see reduction in benefits. Enough, our govs cannot continue to use our allocation funds to feed goons from other regions.

Kwara to establish recycling plant

As part of its efforts to address the increasing refuse situation in the state, the Kwara State Government is set to establish a recycling plant, which will generate employment through the Waste to Wealth scheme
The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, stated this at a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Environment, led by the Commissioner, Otunba Taiwo Joseph.
Ahmed noted that the plant will include a sorting unit, which will separate materials prior to their conversion into useable forms.
The Governor highlighted some environmental and economic benefits of waste recycling such as protection of the environment and saving of resources.
He said recycling can increase production efficiency and reduce costs associated with purchasing raw materials and waste management.
He also noted the potential of recycling to generate employment and boost economic development.
Governor Ahmed therefore charged the Ministry to focus strongly on waste disposal and the ability of the recycling plant to generate employment in the state.
Furthermore, as a result of the growing incident of deforestation in the state, Ahmed charged the ministry officials to align with the reforestation drive through robust policy, advocacy and raising the awareness of the people on the role forests play in natural ecological system.
Ahmed also met with officials of the Ministry of Solid Minerals, led by the Commissioner, Hajia Fumilayo Oniwa.
He charged them to focus on promoting small cottage industries, where there is an existing market, and also to work closely with the state Ministry of Agriculture to find local supply of agro products so private industries can set up there.
The Governor expressed his expectation that a lot of manufacturing firms will come to Kwara State due to stricter border control measures and tariffs, which the Federal Government is set to implement shortly.
He also expressed his hope that with the swearing-in of Federal Ministers, the Federal Government will come up with a position on mining, which should be driven with a Public Private Partnership

Nigeria: Kwara to Launch Health Insurance Scheme for Primary Schools

Ilorin — The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Kwara State on Tuesday announced its readiness to launch an insurance scheme for public primary schools.

The coordinator, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Onimajise, said Kwara will be the first state in Nigeria to flag-off the scheme which he added will commence by the end of the month.

The scheme, which according to the coordinator will attend to pupils in public schools, is part of federal government's plans to capture the entire public in the insurance policy.

He said the education insurance scheme started with tertiary institutions and has moved to the primary school level.

"The management of NHIS discovered that most states are yet to key into the programme, so the scheme introduced a social insurance programme which will be jointly funded by the federal and state governments. ‎We want the state to amend the laws setting up community insurance so that it can be state health insurance programme with an agency to manage it. ‎Once that is done in line with the National Health Acts, funds will be paid by NHIS to the state agency to cater for vulnerable groups," he said.
