Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai says the stress of seeking ways of creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in Kaduna state has left him tired after just 5 months of assuming office. El Rufai said this while speaking at the just-concluded Ake Arts and Book Festival which held in Abeokuta, Ogun State November 17-21.

“As a state governor the challenge for me is what to do to create jobs in Kaduna State. Eighty-two per cent of the eight million people in Kaduna State are below the age of 35.
My challenge is not whether population grows next year or the year after. It is to get jobs for this young people, otherwise no one will sleep in peace. Frankly speaking, five months as governor, I am already tired. I honestly do not think that anyone who wants to do this job seriously can do it for more than four years and not burn out. When I look at some of my colleagues, some are putting on weight, they are looking nice, I ask them, ‘how do you do it?”he said

For him to say something like that means he has genuine intentions...........

Sir don't look at the ones gaining weight and looking fresh because most of them are really busy doing nothing for their citizens.....

Nigeria and Nigerians are difficult to govern by a sincere man. We all can see how they want to frustrate PMB in the Petroleum sector. We must all be patient

If a state administrator truly means well and disturbed about the status quo of a state, challenging the status quo aggressively will mean (s)he will get burn out as the time goes by. (s)he will need occasional vacation like say 1 /2 weeks to get refreshed.

undecided INSTEAD OF THE IGBOS TO DEMAND GOOD LEADERSHIP AND JOB CREATIONS FROM THEIR GOVERNORS LIKE EL-RUFAI IS DOING UP NORTH, THEY ARE SHOUTING BIAFRA AS IF MONEY AND GOOD LEADERSHIP WILL GROW ON TREES IN THEIR YEYE BIAFRA LAND. SOME PEOPLE HAVE EYES THEY CANT SEE. THEY JUST ALLOWED NNAMDI KANU TO MISLEAD THEM AND SET THEIR PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION BACKWARDS BY ANOTHER 100 YEARS. undecided I PITY THE IGBOS INDEED sad

You keep littering all the posts on NL with this rubbish. Are you okay?
Is Obiano not a governor in an Igbo state? Is he not among the most performing governors in Nigeria presently? Was Sullivan Chime of Enugu not among the most performing governors in the last dispensation?

Yes, Igbos may find it difficult producing a Nigerian president anytime soon, but how does it matter? Niger State has produced 2 Nigerian Heads of State (IBB and Abdulsalam Abubakar), but it's nowhere as developed as Rivers, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and some other states that haven't produced a Nigerian president.

Obasanjo was president for 8 years and Jonathan was president for 5 years. Can you list out what these men achieved for Ogun state and Bayelsa state, or for the Yorubas and Ijaws respectively.

Please grow up! You enjoy fanning the embers of ethnic hatred here on NL. It will definitely consume you one day, if you don't change.

El Rufai has just revealed a clear and indicting fact concerning African leaders who grow fat and fresher while in office; if our Nigerian leaders are really selfless, know what they are doing and do what they are supposed to be doing, there's no way anyone can get into office and come out fat. That's what Mr Rufai is saying to y'all.

cc: Those not-too-smart people are asking him to resign.
