Common sense should tell fashola that this trip is a waste of time and money. You can't visit a thermal power plant without first visiting the coal mine. How will you get power without coal?

Clueless govt.
Dunce, must you comment?
are u part of his entourage?
Do u know what the plans are?
do u know where are where not he hasn't visited?
stop being a madma.n and start thinking rationally

I am a Reliability and Asset management Engineer in Australia. Nigeria needs to ask people.like me to step and develop maintenance strategies for the power sector.

These pictures has spoken more.than a thousand words about our collective maintenance philosophy as a nation

This FG should ignore the SE and focus on SS, SW, N and MB. Fixing SE is waste of resources and time.
He is already doing that (bubu)and we can all see
where it has lead nigeria to ,a" failed state ".
If it wasnt clear to some ppl before,am sure right Now its as clear as 4HD that this country is nothing without the ppl of the South east.

At last a working minister.

Is this what the 16 Years of PDP left us?no wonder there is a problem of power supply.

Thank God this Government is working round the clock,to make sure there is a constant supply of power.

Have you seen the power? Because a child goes to school does not make him brilliant, his report card will show that.

he is a superman, he delivered electricity to some places like the government house and the general hospital. he could have sone more but there were legislations that prevented him.
before he left there was a plan to provide constant electricity to the state secretariat.
Fashola is indeed a super man.

Every thing to this man is Politics well, that thermal station were built by the whites before 1960 but typical Nigerians that can't maintain anything left that station to rot away for decades.

For those calling and shouting pdp this and that, this is not about pdp or apc but the failed nature of the military rulers and the gross negligence of obj regime. We should be thanking God for musa yar' dua, Gej and pray buhari plays his part right.

Ya, Lagos state has IPP plants that generates electricity that powers the secretariat, Street lights of the major highways and some public buildings, with plan to power all state hospitals, roads, schools and all public buildings in the state (within the limits permitted by law). they are gas powered and initiated by the BRF administration. By Nigerian law, only the FG can generate power for commercial distribution. States and private individuals can generate private piwers within a limited threshold which Lagos state had complied with. Generating above that threshold means you have to send the excess power to the national grid before commercial distribution which isn't favourable to the states and potential private power generators (investors)

It is even heart breaking that the immediate past power minister's country home is 12 minutes drive from this station embarassed embarassed

Modified:

People say the station still generates, but I dont know what powers the turbines. When we were younger - 80s and 90s, there were overhead conveyors that transported coal from Enugu mine to Oji River where this station lays. The towers still stand. Those days, I would just be watching them if we travel to the village. It probably died with the coal mine.

Getting that transport back is relatively cheap and easy but the coal? Again, is coal-fired turbine technology still supported?

This Administration is a huge joke.....even from the pix one can tell that Fashola the scammer is clueless about how power works just take a look at how he is staring at the equipment...... So so sorry for Nigerians. More irritating is when you now discover that it is still this same clown that is billing Nigerians with higher power tariff that is not working.

Is there a special way to look at those panels that would show he knows what he is doing? grin grin grin grin

Instead wey you go say you no fit afford electricity under this new tariff regime you dey misyarn and naturally some fellow mumu's don like your post.

We have never had 6000 megawatts under any government. Stop spreading falsehood. The highest we have achieved is under this government.
