Have another go at it.

Enable or Disable Hibernation:

1. Click Control Panel

2. Click Power Options

3. Select the Hibernate tab

4. Uncheck Enable Hibernation box to disable
(or check to enable)

5. Click OK

Then test

If no joy visit microsoft website
then click on the fix it for me

Is this a laptop or a desktop

Was hibernation working prior to installing service pack 3 if yes

Click start ,all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore

Select a date before it was or not working then click ok and wait.

click start, run, cmd and type in chkdsk and follow on screen instructions


2nd Options

Click start, my computer look for your C DRIVE

He was previously advised to run as administrator

@ugotuf rerun cmd as an administrator by going to

start all programs accessories right clik cmd and choose

run as admin then reenter powercfg.exe /hibernate on

press enter

hibernation was working well on sp2,i'm the admin of my own sys

@ugotuf: You are not sure you have tried all those and it doesn't work. The only screenshot you posted, you made a mistake in the command. And additionally, hibernate wouldn't work unless you have your display driver installed (unless you're running windows 7 +)

skydancer,you can see in the clip below that my vga is driven.i'm running xp sp3

i tried installing an application on xp pack2 bt gives dis errror message "can be installed on 32bit or higher". How do i upgrade my system to 32bit or higher without having to change to win 7 or vista? pls help

Look for and download the 64bit of the same application software and you will be just fine.

That's because you have not deleted the hiberfil.sys (just enable system/hidden files in folder option and delete from drive c or follow pc busayo's instruction.

Skydancer,the truth is that i need hibernation on my laptop so why delete the hiberfil.sys file then?something is using it but i dont seem to find such in the windows task manager processes.i know you can help me the link deji gave me is telling me how to delete hiberfil.sys but i need it.so what's the way out?.

Probably you are using a PC Suite not compatible with your mobile phone. Google on the PC suite that matches your phone,download and install it!

i am using android 2.2 IPAD tablet 7" touch screen 4GB thanks

You cant possibly be using ipad android. I thought you are are using the likes of galaxy tab or acer aconia or asus transformer that runs android os, I'd have directed you to dedicated forums for these tablets. Your tablet are the china made ones that dont have reliable customer support. Sorry mate!
