nick16:It can be changed but the ease of changing it depends on the system. If it is a removable video card, that is pretty easy . Just get a compatible one and replace . But if it is fixed to the motherboard, a professional who specializes in removing large chips using VGA machine can do it but it is expensive and not readily available. 1 Like |

AdebisiAdeyinka: Please answer the followings questions and write fully so I can understand. DO you meant that the laptop powers on, but it would not boot up ? Any error message? If yes, connect your laptop to a power socket and restart. Keep pressing f10 for bios. You would see a blue screen, use your arrow keys to navigate to diagnostics and run me an hard drive short test. I prescribed a short because I don't know. if you're using generator or not. if you like you may run a long test. |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by deji2009(m): 7:39am On Feb 13, 2017 |
cynhamscakes: Dear cynhamscake, Thanks for the above. I would advise you to carry out the followings. Step 1 Disconnect all external devices including keyboard and mouse and unplug the power adapter from the notebook. Step 2 Remove the battery from the notebook by following the instructions found in its user manual and hold the "Power" button for at least 15 seconds. Step 3 Reconnect the power adapter to your notebook but do not reconnect the external devices yet. Turn your notebook on and see if the power LED lights up. If it does, test if the notebook boots normally. In addition: Connect the charger to the laptop only. don't plug it to power source. Wiggle the charger from top to bottom , left to right and feel for loose connections. If you feel any loose connections, it may be a dc jack problem. Moreover, borrow another charger and test it. It could well be your charger is at fault. Moreover, ensure your laptop is connected to a well lilt power source, i.e. not low current. I guess you have been generator to charge it ? |

xpool: Use google to find out how to get to device manager and look for cd dvd click the + sign and uninstall everything underneath the + sign, i.e. cd/dvd rw, cd drive or dvd rom anything that says dvd. If you cant find it. Please google to find out how to set a system restore, make sure your system restore is on and active. please follow as prescribed. Then carry out the followings. This problem may be caused by two Windows registry entries that have become corrupted. To use Registry Editor to delete the corrupted Registry entries, follow these steps: Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type regedit in the Run dialog box, then press Enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} In the right pane, click UpperFilters. Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 7. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. In the right pane, click LowerFilters. Note If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, go to the next resolution. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart the computer. If your problem is not solved, let us know |

smiling:is your Cq56 an AMD motherboard or Intel motherboard? if it is AMD, forget it cos that is most likely a VGA problem. But if it is Intel, it can be fixed. |

Hello guys, I really need a solution to an Acer Aspire V5 laptop problem. It won't put me to the page to input password. I've checked online to get a possible solution, but no way. Even the battery remains at the middle level and charging light displays abnormally i.e instead of the normal amber colour (as it is yet to be filled), it displays blue colour (something that suppose to happen at full battery). Please, I need urgent help. |

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by sotall(m): 5:43am On Feb 15, 2017 |
dbaeous: You can try discharging it by removing the charger and the battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Put back your charger (plugged to the mains) and try powering it on. If nothing happens then an engineer is worth visiting. if you are in Lagos and you need an engineer , you can call 08164685979. |

deji2009:. Thanks bros, u're gradually turning me into an engineer . As you can see I've been able to detach the battery. As for the recovery stuff, I've read a little about it and it saying something about Alt + F10 as the keys to press for it. I also found out it'll wipe all data on the system. Please how true is that? 1 Like
