reportnaijanews:
Concerned by untold suffering as well as hazard emanating from the activities of black marketers, especially those who sell petroleum products inside plastic containers/jerry-cans, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, has directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and FCT/State Commands Commissioners of Police to arrest anybody found selling petrol and other petroleum products in plastic container.

The IGP, who issued the directives in Abuja on Monday, April 25, said apart from the hardship this act is causing to fuel buyers, it has also rendered some innocent and law abiding citizens homeless due to fire outbreak from jerry-can petrol storage.

He noted that fuel products such as petrol are highly flammable and if not stored and handled properly, can seriously endanger people, property and the environment. While warning fuel attendants at filling stations to desist from selling petrol inside jerry-can/plastic container, the Inspector-General of Police said both the buyers and the sellers of the products will be arrested and prosecuted under the law.

The IGP, while assuring Nigerians of the Police readiness to fulfill its constitutional mandate, appealed for a more cordial relationship between the Police and the public.

But why is this fools that calls himself IGP empty headed like every other korofo. So they are indirectly banning people from fueling their generator. No be so? Why are these black uniformed men daft like this? Why does the black man enjoy to see the other black suffering instead of allieviating the hardship.

This Solomon Arase must be a drunk. Now that you have declared war on those who buy fuels in jerrycans to help provide light for themselves in their generator since your govt can not provide it, Now that you have raised the anger level of the populace, hope you won't shout when the people now turn against you-their tomentors.

It is a pity brainless people have the highest life span in nigeria and Solomon Arase is one.

I think the IGP has given a very myopic directive.
In the light of the prevailing fuel scarcity and untold hardship it has brought, the IGP is trying to ensure that the nation is left in darkness perpetually. This only increases criminal activities which are mainly under the cover of darkness. Consequently there'll be an increase in casualty figures suffered both by citizens and men of the police force.
Secondly I wonder how many people will have to take their generators along to the fuel station however large, and it's health implications.
Lastly, just imagine the multiplier effect on how the even more myopic men of the force will interpret this. ..food for the boys! Very soon, Policemen on stop and search operations will be looking out for jerrycans, be it filled or empty and then on to "partikola".
..I used to think that the top echelon of the police were made up of strategic thinkers.

So, what happens to generators and grinding machine owners?

They should keep carrying their machines to filling stations?

I wonder why these government agencies just keep flexing muscles over irrelevant things.

It has advantage and disadvantage.

1. It helps you in a hurry

2. It makes the filling stations not to sell during the day to motorists but at night to black marketers.

3. It causes fire out break often

Choose you this day the otpion you want.
