BodyKiss: It is mostly like God is an insecure childish egoistic whimp that needs to be reminded everyday 'just how great he is' fed every day with worship or it get pissed off. that's like abject narcissism and chronic egoism. Anything perfect does not need anything, not your belief, not your worship, not your praise because it is perfect and these things are irrelevant to it. So if there is a perfect god somewhere all worships and praises and all these enthusiastic piety are all useless. Unless of course god is a kind of imperfect egoistic freak that is always looking for worship.. Most theistic religions paint a picture of very childish worship begging god(s) that is a very small concept It is outrightly absurd how something big enough to allegedly create the cosmos literally out of nothing, comes to a tiny planet amongst countless planets and starts mongering for worship from tiny almost irrelevant organisms that inhabit this planet. Considering the very depth and vastness of the cosmos that the earth seem trillions of times smaller than an atom in relation to the size of the cosmos but yet there goes ideas of god(s) supposedly superior to man and bigger than the universe worrying over worship from tiny humans in a planet smaller than atom in a huge cosmos. these Gods are outrightly too small for the cosmos, all emanating from the limited small minds of naive primitive seekers. The human mind can believe an outright absurdity so confidently that it becomes true in the mind of the believer. 21 Likes 6 Shares |

kolawaxxy: I really have nothing against beliefs but i always maintain ' Anything that can be destroyed by the truth deserves to be destroyed.' Let us throw away the whole notion of belief and try to find things out... It is that irrational practice of putting "belief" ahead of truth that nearly threw the human society into a perpetual primitive state of myth peddling and superstition. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

it seems we atheists all have similar stories. we saw the loopholes and inconsistencies. we asked questions but were told to ask god in heaven and pray then eventually we realised it all. read books. read books. and do be curious. love me or love me not and ill burn you in hell but you have a choice. thats a silly blackmail from a thought up fairytale diary they will come and say we were never Strong in the spirit 9 Likes 1 Share |

kolawaxxy: By chosen, do you mean determined by God randomly among a population so that no matter what the chosen do they are bound for heaven? If that is what you mean then why did Apostle Paul say that he had to discipline his body and force it to obey him so that he wouldn't end up in hell after having preached to many people? Why did the Apostle Peter say that we should make our calling and election sure? God has given you everything you need to overcome the devil and live a righteous life on earth that will grant you access to His eternal kingdom when you leave earth. It is up to you to make use of what He has made available or whine about the life He gave you. Your choice. |
Re: PART 2: Pastor to Atheist: Why I will NEVER be a Christian again by johnydon22(m): 8:50pm On May 04, 2016 |
skeendyke: No the argument is more like: How can you add 1° to a circle (360°) that is outrightly impossible.. At 360° a circle is precise, it needs nothing added to it and if you take away 1° it ceases to be a circle therefore imperfect and may then need something (1°) So too if there is a deity attributed with perfection then it needs nothing, not your worship, belief or acknowledgement or even reverence because it doesn't need such mundane expressions and thus all your piety are useless and irrelevant to it. But if your version of a perfect god requires these things then surely enough it cannot be perfect. And on the virtue of two contradicting characters 'Perfection & want' such a thing cannot exist. -It's either perfect and doesn't want, need or require anything related to such sheepish childish wants. -Or it is imperfect and needs them Bring both of them together it creates a paradox and annihilates the subject. 14 Likes 5 Shares |

I believe there are lots of factors that keep people religious, little or no education, poverty, hardship, ill-health e.t.c These are norms in the African society, no wonder Africa is the most religious continent in the world. Give the people quality education and they don't say stupid things like a tree is prove that God exist because it can't fall from heaven Give the people quality healthcare and they don't have to call their pastors to intercede on their behalf Create jobs and wealth and people don't have to pray anytime they go for an interview I must admit there are a certain group called the hopeless religious, they are just content in their ignorance and irrationality that nothing you do would bring them out of it. That's evolution for you, random mutations resulting in a range of different human characteristics 16 Likes 4 Shares |

kolawaxxy: I disgree. Provided he's telling the truth, it's fine. And there's little reason to doubt the veracity of his tale, considering the amount of info he's divulged. It's his story and he should tell it however he wants to. That asides, I think he's doing a lot of little things to make this an excellent read. Indeed, the charisma he claims to have in person sort of illuminates itself through this. I even sort of feel bad he was unable to heal that boy. 5 Likes |

So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [c]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead. 15Rather, let our lives lovingly [d]express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 16For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love. 17So this I say and solemnly testify in [the name of] the Lord [as in His presence], that you must no longer live as the heathen (the Gentiles) do in their perverseness [in the folly, vanity, and emptiness of their souls and the futility] of their minds. 18Their [e]moral understanding is darkened and their reasoning is beclouded. [They are] alienated (estranged, self-banished) from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the ignorance (the want of knowledge and perception, the willful blindness) that is [f]deep-seated in them, due to their hardness of heart [to the insensitiveness of their moral nature]. 19In their spiritual apathy they have become callous and past feeling and reckless and have abandoned themselves [a prey] to unbridled sensuality, eager and greedy to indulge in every form of impurity [that their depraved desires may suggest and demand]. 20But you did not so learn Christ! |
