Army Retires Generals, Colonels And A Major over Defence Contracts by midolian(m): 6:57am On Jun 11, 2016
Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, Abuja:
The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that quite a number of senior officers of the Nigerian Army were retired from service yesterday.

Those retired were mainly some Major Generals, Brigadier Generals, Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and a Major.

Their retirement was based on Service exigencies. It should be recalled that not too long ago some officers were investigated for being partisan during the 2015 General Elections.

Similarly, the investigation by the Presidential Committee investigating Defence Contracts revealed a lot.

Some officers have already been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

People should therefore not read this out of context.

The military must remain apolitical and professional at all times.

We must applaud and support this laudable and bold initiative by the government.

Trentonline just reported a similar story but claimed buhari sacked up to 200 mid and senior military officers because they were from the SE and SS and because they supported GEJ during 2015 elections. Who do we believe?

Nice one, this will go a long way in eradicating corruption among the senior Army officers.

Reliable sources was any officer that has one billion Naira(#1billion naira) in his account was retired.
Also, there was an issued that some officers were found to be compromised by the former PDP party with lots of money so the army has no choice than to retire them to avoid revolt
None of the officers in the list has less than one billion in his accounts
Their properties may be confiscated if they cannot explained how they owned such money in military career
The list was announced in presence of ARMY COUNCIL MEETING yesterday. Comprehensive list might have been sign yesterday for distribution.

Fantastic. The Nigerian Army must be free from the crippling corruption that characterised it in the past admin. Anyone not comfortable with this drive to salvage our fatherland should make haste to obtain a Somalian nationality. They would surely not be missed.

A look at the authors of those comments against this commendable act of dealing with crooks and you'd see why it is difficult classifying them as sane human beings.

So he must be thrown out through coup.? You do not even think of democratic means. A retrogressive thought. Your hatred for Nigeria knew no bound but yet you did not suggest coup to achieve your IPOB agenda. Nigerians love Buhari and only God can stop him from having second term.
