Dr. Junaid is certainly very much right in his stance. It has become clear that there is no gain negotiating with terrorists after the failed amnesty programme initiated by late President Yar'Adua. Rather, NDDC programmes should be reviewed with good packages and if possible, should be brought under the control and purview of the presidency. The aim of the NDDC has been defeated as they have not been able to achieve the most needed and desired developmental strides in the ND because of huge pervasive corruption in the organisation. Don't put money in the hands of militants. It gives them the impetus to acquire more sophisticated weapons and put the entire country under their perpetual greed to control the state resources. Buhari, be wise! Dr. Junaid is very correct!! |

Everyone here talks about civil war but know nothing about the horrors of war. Imagine for example the American civil war. One part clamoured for secession and the war seemed so interesting that on the first battle, rich people brought chairs to watch! That war ended up being the deadliest war in America's history. They lost more lives than they did in WW2. . . Same with the first Nigerian civil war. Do you know how many people died?? Do you think war is a joke common network to post on nairaland you wont find. . . everything will be destroyed. millions will die. War is no joke. . . But I also agree that you shouldn't negotiate with terrorists (ANY terrorist, no matter where they're from). . . Negotiating with terrorists shows a weak administration, and will just bring every Tom, Dick, and Harry to form new groups because they know that they can bomb to get whatever they like. If the people fighting for secession are truly mature to survive as a country on their own, they will take a page out of Mahatma Gandhi's book and boycott EVERYTHING coming from Nigeria, PEACEFULLY. But they're all talk, empty barrels with nothing meaningful to offer. |
