A lot o!

Nigeria is the greatest peacekeeping force in Africa, the leader of the MNJTF, Africa's largest economy, the grandfather of ECOWAS etc.

Even if you discount all of the above; at least Nigeria has avoided beating Colombia to be the world leader in Drug trafficking by avoiding an Ibo President.

Guys I think we need to just shove all these logics and permutations into the bin where they belonged. I for one just need a good government in Nigeria and enjoy just this one life am going to live on my father's land. In 2011, Buhari a northerner had Pst Bakare a Yoruba as running mate yet they lost to GEJ. If all the Yorubas voted for Buhari because of their own son Pst Bakare. They would have won. some of us just want good governance. We want a better life who ever can deliver that. Most of us saw the impunity and open house corruption going on in high places and given Buhari's track record of less corrupt candidate of the two unwanted candidate they decided to vote for change. APC campaigned on the path of things can be better than they were if the president is willing to really curb corruption. They used what Fasola did in Lagos to campaign telling us same guy will be in government. Kayode fayemi was so eloquent and level headed that he outshone FFK when there was a need for both of them to defend their principal. The intellectuals saw through that. PDP was already broken lot of big and crowd pullers left and some withdrew their weight. Atiku, Obasanjo, Amaechi, Saraki, Okorocha, El rufai. And a host of others. Also there was so much bad market around GEJ that it was so difficult for his movers to sell. Imagine using a picture of roads in Ghana as part of GEJ works in government. Trying to shut down boko haram at the tail end of election. They had to shift elections for the purpose of garnering support. I am sure the pple that collected money refused to give out cos they already saw through the vine of the inevitable loss. Even those who collected rice and stuff still voted for Baba. Not to talk of the crowd and padded figure in the north. Pls advocate for good governance however we can get that and stop looking back at why GEJ lost.

And he forgot to mention all this things in 2015? chai GEAJ for president 2019

President Goodluck Jonathan enjoyed the sympathy of the

when he made public, a story of

that he portrayed himself as a

Former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan lost the presidential election because he acted like a political bigot

When former president Goodluck Jonathan contested the previous presidential election he won in most part of the country and met the statutory requirement of the law, defeating former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari retired, a fulani man from the North and other candidates.

President Goodluck Jonathan enjoyed the sympathy of the generality of Nigerians from all nook and cranny in the country by appealing to their emotions when he made public, a story of how he used to trek to school without shoes. Another good reason he won the election was that he portrayed himself as a detribalized Nigeria, which made the Yorubas and Hausas to vote for him en masse

However during the 2015 presidential election. There was a lot of drama which snowballed into an overt defeat to the incumbent president. some of the melodrama are discussed below:

One of such drama was the sudden change of name from President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to President Goodluck Azikiwe  Ebele Jonathan.

There is the saying that you do not change a winning team, So why did he change the winning name? He changed his name in other to have a block vote from the South East and he got it. However this parochial and miscalculated move portrayed him as a tribalist, a political bigot and egocentric politician, because he did no consider the South West and the North.

Jonathan an Ijaw man and a legitimate free born from The Niger Delta area in the 2011 elections, suddenly became illegitimate and a lost slave in the 2015 elections and was adopted by the people from the South East.

Virtually everyday prior to the 2011 elections, on tv, you would see people from the South East and South South dancing with Ibo and Ijaw regalia and eulogising the president Goodluck Jonathan, giving a wrong impression to other part of the country that Jonathan had spent all Nigerian resources in these areas. To the extent that Igbo actors in Nollywood mobilized and openly campaigned for Jonathan while pouring insult on Buhari From the North. Some Igbos even accused Buhari of arresting their brothers who were into cocaine business when he was the head of state. There was no moderation, wisdom or even morality in their onslaught.

On 1st October 2010, there was a bomb blast in Abuja during the 50th independence anniversary celebrations. The then president Jonathan without proper investigation came out on air to exonerate his people, giving a wrong impression that people from the North were responsible, however, few hours later MEND- Movement For The Emancipation for Niger Delta claimed responsibility for the blast. The major player. Henry Oka was later caught.

All these point of view above point to the fact that the former president Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election due to over association with the South East (Igbo) which are a significant minority and he did it without wisdom. Yorubas and most Northerners voted for Jonathan in 2011 because they felt he was from Niger Delta but when he added Azikiwe to his name during the 2015 elections they concluded that Jonathan was an Igbo Man. So they changed their mind, because most people from the North and South East are not convinced yet that Igbo people are mature enough or even ready to rule Nigeria.  Don't forget the issue of Biafra still lingers in the heart of most Nigerians especially the Notherners. Igbo people unfortunately are not even helping matters by trying to redeem their image. Take for example on nairaland Igbos are very quick at supporting and defending people with questionable characters such as Bukola Saraki, Sambo Dasuki, Nnamdi Kanu, Ayo Fayose, Olisa Metu. Majority of Nigerians will not vote for such people. If Jonathan was a good politician he would have added a Mohammed or a Fashola rather than an Azikiwe.

if you've mentioned Jonathan's in ability to fight corruption and the menace of boko haram which made people to lost interest on him, you would have make sense.

The truth is that it is the Igbos hat made GEJ to lose the 2016 election. Had the Igbos been wise and politically savvy, building bridges and no walls agains Jonathan, Jonathan may have won that election. Igbos misused Jonathan.

There is no contiguity or affinity between Yoruba and Fulani, all through history, the Fulanis have sought to subvert the Yoruba race, and they have continually failed.

When the time is ripe, and the scales fall off from the eyes, the marriage of strange bed fellows will collapse completely irrevocably and irreversibly.

Not such strange bed fellows.

I believe that there are parallels to be drawn between the alliances formed in the 2015 and the 1964/1965 elections where the NPC joined with the NNDP (which was the pro-FG SW party and more relevant than the AG after the Akintola/Awolowo rift and Awo's incarceration for corruption & treason charges) amongst other minor parties to defeat the NCNC which joined with the UMBC and minors. So I wouldn't say that the Yoruba and Fulani aren't compatible when they are tasked with suppressing a predominantly Igbo party. And when everyone else fled from the PDP, it of course, became a regional party.

History also remembers the '65 elections as "marred by massive rigging". Politicians were desperate to ensure they got into power and stayed in power so that they could continue to enrich themselves with public funds. They say that: Those who fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it.

Frustrated IPOO miscreant from Odua Islamic Republic of Ritual-killers and Cannibals, did you give ANY Igboman ANY land to keep for you?

Notorious tribalists from a juju-infested enclave who are so confused to ever stand for anything good in life except to fish in troubled waters in search of decaying matter.

BTW, are you in anyway referring to Lagos - a former federal capital territory developed with the crude oil wealth from the East and the sweat and blood of ethnic groups in Nigeria?

Is Lagos your father's property?

You're too pained that Igbos would sojourn to your poverty-stricken village and prosper while many of your deluded generation of ass-licking minions are still wallowing in illiteracy, strange diseases, penury, abject poverty and squalor.

Look at a bile-filled bigot whose wicked forbears didn't think twice before colluding with their Northern masters to almost wipe out Igbos and other Easterners off the surface of the earth...grandstanding carelessly on NL.

Take a read and see how your tribe remains a wicked set of treacherous backst*bbers and murderous parasites:
The paper by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the current Emir of Kano, a Fulani, where he revealed some truths about your people: "YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA"?
http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/yorubas-are-the-problem-with-nigeria-by-sanusi-lamido-sanusi-elombah-com.111348/

In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.

The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention...

Everything you said is correct. But if Igbos do not vote Buhari in next elections don't be supprise he will still win. Because the Igbo population is very small compared to Yorubas and Hausa. Just check the result of the last sensus result you will know what I am talking about. My question for you is why are Igbo people always supporting people of questionable characters such as: Saraki, FFK, Dasuki, Charles and Henry Oka, Fayose, Niger Delta militant etc. Trust me these are the things affecting their image. I tell you if Igbo people start condemning evil today they will win the heart of most Nigerians

Although he did not win in most of the state in the North but the population of people that voted for Jonathan in 2011 election in the South West and The North is far more than 2015 election. There is no way only Igbo vote could have made Jonathan the president.

You have spoken the truth. Igbo people need prayers. They were not like this before. I think they need to go back and study the history of Nnamdi Azikiwe to know what made him great. Nnamdi Azikiwe was a patrotic Nigeria, he was loved by everyone because of his priceless values. I think the Elders have a lot of work to do

President Goodluck Jonathan enjoyed the sympathy of the
generality of Nigerians from all
nook and cranny in the country
by appealing to their emotions
when he made public, a story of
how he used to trek to school
without shoes. Another good
reason he won the election was
that he portrayed himself as a
detribalized Nigeria, which made
the Yorubas and Hausas to vote
for him en masse
sorry mr tribalist aka talkative, hausa didn't vote en masse for jonathan at any time. You guys talk alot and sometimes parade yourselfs as intellects where you are nothing but talkatives with little memory(sometimes exceedingly gullible). By your assumption tell me any singular reason why someone will not say north east and west made buhari fail in 2011?

Everything you said is correct. But if Igbos do not vote Buhari in next elections don't be supprise he will still win. Because the Igbo population is very small compared to Yorubas and Hausa. Just check the result of the last sensus result you will know what I am talking about. My question for you is why are Igbo people always supporting people of questionable characters such as: Saraki, FFK, Dasuki, Charles and Henry Oka, Fayose, Niger Delta militant etc. Trust me these are the things affecting their image. I tell you if Igbo people start condemning evil today they will win the heart of most Nigerians

Silly rants from a confused fellow trying in vain to cook up lies against Igbos who are determined to have a separate existence from greedy, treasury looters cum murderous parasites.

Many Igbos don't want to share a country with you anymore and yet you keep creating unnecessary attentions for yourselves on the internet creating and posting irrelevant topics depicting your lack of self esteem. You think in so doing you can blackmail the Igbo Nation to pitch tent with you and your cotravellers.

It's only silly fellows who desperate want an unwilling people to continue with them in a moribund country filled with hypocritical bigots and double-faced sorcerers.

The earlier you and your cohorts channel your negative energies towards consolidating your OduaArewanistan republic the better for your survival.

It is clear that Nairaland thrives on Igbophobic propaganda.
